You will love taking your time in this well situated apartment, between the sea and the old town. On the private balcony you will face the sea and enjoy life on the table for two in a romantic and peaceful mood.
Self-catering bright and modern apartment with stunning sea view, overlooking the Cours Saleya market which offers daily the most beautifull flowers and the very best of regional products.
The apartment is composed with a entrance hall, with a large closet for your suitcase and for clothes, a fully equiped kitchen open on the stylish living room wich lead to one of the rare balcony on the Cours Saleya.
On the upper floor there is the bedroom with a lot of various closet to hand clothe, and a nice bathroom. The apartment has double windows so as to reduce the noise of the city and also the heat from outside. It also has air conditioning on both floors. Also the ceiling on the upper level is at some points lower because of exposed beams.
Situated in the old town, which is the city's beating heart of Nice, by day and by night, surrounded by nice café's terraces, bars and restaurants, you will have easy access to the beaches, to the public transportation and to the other attraction of the town.
Everyday you will find different markets: the flower and vegetables market, the antiquity market on Monday and an artisanal market in the evening in the summer… At any time, there is a great animation and a good atmosphere.
The sea is at about 100 meters and Castel private beach about 200 meters.
If you have some free time, try to visit the Misericordia Church which is just next to the apartment, and is a baroque masterpiece and walk around in the streets of the old town of Nice or on the castle hill to get a wonderful overview of the city.
I can't say enough positive things about the apartment, or the owner and main contact, Ruffin. I have stayed at many properties in le Vieux Nice over the years. This was hands down my favorite. The apartment is so comfortable, meticulously updated, with adequate storage, I could easily live there year round. That is not always the case with many rental properties. The best parts: 1. An elevator that takes you painlessly to the third floor (many properties in le Vieux Nice are walk-ups.) 2. An ideal location overlooking le Cours Saleya, les Ponchettes (two rows of flat-roofed homes separating the market from the busy Promenade des Anglais,) and the Mediterranean, with la Colline du Château (Castle Hill) immediately to the left. You never want to leave the balcony, where two people can sit comfortably and enjoy meals or a glass of wine. The beach and old town are minutes away. Caveats: The apartment is a duplex, so probably best for people with no mobility issues (the 10 steps leading the bedroom and bathroom are fairly steep and do not include a ramp.) Would not recommend the apartment for small children for that reason.
Ruffin, the owner and property manager is professional, responsive and friendly and stopped by to introduce himself the first night. He lives in the building and owns several properties there, so if this apartment has been rented, inquire about the other ones. I can't say enough good things about this property and will be sure to book it again when I return to Nissa la Bella, beautiful Nice. One last note: I arrived three days after the July 2016 terror attack and never considered canceling for a second. Even if things were a bit on the quieter side in the city for a few days, please don't reschedule your trip. Nice needs all the business it can get right now, and from the digicode protecting the main entrance of the building, to the reassuring presence of the police, and the French army patrolling the streets discreetly, I never felt threatened in this beautiful city that loves life and still has great days ahead. - Veronique, a.k.a. We had a wonderful week exploring Nice from the comfort of this lovely apartment. Following a 2 minute trip to the market in the street below for fresh bread and croissants, breakfast on the balcony overlooking the Med was a real treat. There are hundreds of restaurants and bars within easy walking distance and the beach is just 2 mins walk. Some days in the street below there is an antique market and some days it's arts and crafts. For some upmarket shopping take a short stroll to Place Massena in the newer part of town. Bus and train links to other towns on the coast such as Antibes and Monaco are easily accessible.
Ruffin, the apartment owner lives in the same building was a pleasure to deal with.
Arrival was smooth being able to contact the owner by phone for entry arrangements. Ruffin was very helpful and easy to speak to.
The apartment is in an ideal location for the tourist part of the city being right in the old town at the flower market and has lovely views to th sea from the small balcony.
The apartment is modern, clean and very well equipped, recently renovated to a high standard.
Despite Euro 2016 football there was no disturbance or noise.
Front door security and lift functioned perfectly. An automatic light motion sensor would be an advantage in the small hall outside the apartment. Satellite TV would also be an advantage.
Overall a first class apartment and would use this property again.
Cours Saleya was our best vacation rental ever! The freshly renovated and spotlessly clean contemporary apartment has great views of the Mediterranean and also overlooks the market and restaurants. Right outside the apartment are lots of delightful dining, shopping and public transit options.... all within walking distance. With the french doors open, the apartment was filled with the quiet burble of the market but with the doors closed the apartment was quiet. Heat and air conditioning worked perfectly as did secured WiFi access. Ruffin, the property owner, was exceptionally helpful. Everything we needed for a two week stay was there. We were left to simply discover & enjoy the Riviera... We would definitely stay here again.
Loved this place so well we stayed an extra night. Very clean and nicely decorated. Balcony is perfect after a long day of sight seeing. Flower market and restaurants outside door. We would buy groceries right outside our door. We even had desert delivered from the restaurant below! Tram is a 5 minute walk away and takes you to the train station. LOVED THIS PLACE!!! Marylynn
We had a wonderful stay in this fabulous apartment. The location is incredible with sea views and the buzz of the Marche de Fleurs below. It is incredible well placed for all the attractions of the 'old town' and within easy reach of the rest of the city. Ruffin, the owner, was extremely professional and very easy to deal with. It was nice to receive prompt and efficient responses to enquiries. Everything in the apartment is as stated in the listing and I would have no hesitation in recommending this apartment to prospective visitors. 5*
