Photos and Description of this 2 bedroom holiday cottage in Greece

It gives me great pleasure to offer my cottage for the milos holiday season of 2016. I'm sure you will enjoy this amazing island and my house as much as I have over the years.

The cottage is located a 6min drive from the hilltop village of plaka on a secluded horseshoe cul-de-sac. The cottage is in an isolated hilltop and with access from a narrow pathway with uneven footing underneath. I for this reason do not recommend the cottage to parents with children or those with mobility issues. The neighbours are friendly and enjoy practicing their English and sharing the world famous Greek hospitality to visiting holiday makers.

You arrive at the house through a narrow road that winds up to the base of the small hill where the house is located. You can find an area for parking here which is a 4 minute walk to the front door of my house. Milos is a rural and natural island and I would ask all would be guest to do some research about the island and its wildlife before visiting. You will find hedgehogs ,large rats, snakes, and a host of other wild creatures on your doorstep. So be prepared to move around these animals in their natural setting. The house consist of a large double bedroom with a double bed, two bedside tables and a vintage chest of drawers. There is a hanging rail for clothes and sitting chairs. The main bedroom is very spacious and airy full of light. The bedroom opens onto the veranda.

The second bedroom is a single with a double bed and reading lamp, a traditional woven seat chair and small metal folding table.

The shower room is nicely decorated with white Italian mosaic tiles on the walls and terra cotta floor tiles.

A large open plan kitchen/lounge area that also opens onto the slate tiled veranda. An American style fridge freezer and separate under counter fridge for cold drinks or extra food if needed. A beautiful farm house table with four chairs and all you need for cooking and dining. The lounge area has a small wicker sofa and coffee table and an antique cabinet that dates from the original house plan.

The veranda has a built in sitting area and a canopy to relax away from the sun. There is also a portable weber barbeque for cooking outside.

The house is homely and comfortable but by no means a luxury retreat. I do not live on the island so I will not be there to greet you when you arrive but I do have a neighbour that will be on hand to offer you assistance and hand over the keys if required.

Because of the remote location of my house I do not recommend arriving late at night or past sun down. Street lights are far and few between and I would suggest bringing a torch or flash light when you leave the house in the evening. I will be on hand to assist you by phone or email if you need to contact me for addition information or tips on the things to do on the island.

I have left some Milos guide books for the summer season in the cottage.

The house has a water tank under the house and I have the water line running from the water filtration system from the sea. Please use bottle water for your own safety for cooking and drinking.

The toilet is a bio toilet with a septic tank away from the house. The island is not on a main sewer system so putting toilet paper or sanitary towels in the toilet is forbidden. You will need to put used toilet paper in plastic bags and take way from the house on a daily bases. If you block the system you will need to pay for the expensive service charge to correct the issue and asked to leave the property promptly.

The island has two Carrefour express shops selling all you need for food and household items. The one near the port of Adamas is better stocked than the one closer to the cottage.
