Through 5 years we have only pleasant experiences with our guests.

Why Morten PR Russell Wedén chose Grünerløkka
The apartment is situated on its own ground floor of the building which dates from 1870, situated at Upper and Cross (Øvre gate and Korsgata between music venue «Blå» along the Akerselva river and bespoke restaurant «KAMAI» (japanese) and «Markveien Mat & Vinhus» and «Dr.Kneipp» in a very quiet yet central area at the lower southwest corner of Grünerløkka. You will also find the art gallery and wine bar «Syng» 50 metres away – perfect outdoor area for sunny days by the riverside. From here a variety of shops, supermarket, «Wine Monopoly», cafés and restaurants are only 2 minutes walk away. Make sure you visit the popular «Mathallen» (Food Hall). There are 3 parks close by, and for recreational purposes a pleasant walk along the Akerselva river is recommended. In the weekends there are both market days and music venues at «Blå» (Blue). The New York Times recently included the walk along the river here in its «Top Ten Streets of European Cities» contest.
What makes this House unique
The Botanical Gardens and The Edvard Munch Museum is well within walking distance (to the east), so is the Oslo Town Hall (to the west) with Akershus Castle and fashionable Aker Brygge (where you can even swim). From here small ferries whisk you out to numerous idyllic islands in the fjord and of course to the Bygdøy peninsula with its Kontiki -, Fram-, Viking Ships- and Folk Museums. But apart from these attractions, there is hardly any reason at all to leave Grünerløkka. You’ll find everything here.

Lots of space and charm
Great spot near parks, shops and easy walk to everything downtown! My 80 year old parents had no trouble with the stairs to kitchen, and they loved the neighborhood. Bring CD's if you want entertainment. And a mask if you sleep upstairs!
I am very impressed with your parents, some elderly folks find the stairs a bit on the steep side, but not yours obviously! And a sleeping mask can be handy if you visit in mid summer when we only have a couple og hours of semi-darkness. It is the opposite in winter of course - only 7 hours daylight around Christmas time. But then it is time to light the candles and the three fireplaces!
fantastic location in a close in neighborhood
the unit is 2 blocks from a tram station for easy travel downtown. lots of nearby shops and restaurants.
Consigliato
Cool apartment in a cool nbhd, but needs some sprucing up
Big, nice, apartment in a super cool nbhd, really the coolest in Oslo. Place just needs a good cleaning, maybe a coat of paint, and I hadnt realized it doesnt have a TV, which didnt bother us, but some folks might feel differently. Gave it 3, but really 3.5, possibly even 4.
All in all a really good time, and would go back.
Yes, there are always room for improvements, but since the townhouse is booked solid almost until October, any refurbishments will have to wait until then. So far nobody complained about missing TV, but some have said if we had one, it would have been a distraction(!). Anyway - happy that you all had a good time.
Very spacious, great location.
We had a party of 7, including our 3 kids and my parents. We were delayed so my parents checked in and were met by Morten who was very kind and helpful. The set up of the house was perfect for us, great kitchen/ living area, good location near buses. Shower had enviable water pressure. My kids loved the stairs, my parents did not so much. There was plenty of room, and I actually loved the quirky decor.
This was very comfortable place to stay in Oslo for a group of four single women
We each had our own bedroom, and shared the living and kitchen space. We found the house very convenient for access to the tram (#12) that took us to city center, train stations, etc. as well as easy walking to the Mathallen food courts, KIWI grocery, Espresso House for morning coffee, the wine store, the walk up to the waterfall, etc. etc. Although it was unseasonably hot while we were there, the breezes through the windows kept us quite cool at night. Beds were comfortable, and shower very nice. We stayed a total of eight nights, and Morten was a gracious host, the house was clean, and kitchen well equipped for everything needed, although we didn't cook very much, with all the wonderful restaurants near by!
And the other way around if you are on a budget - buy delicacies from the Food Hall and cook for yourself and friends at the Townhouse!
As Grünerløkka is very central, it is a pulsating area with lots of activities going on. You will find anything you like while shopping or just strolling along here. Emergency hospital (Legevakten) is 650 metres away from the apartment, so you are in safe hands for any eventuality.
