Nestled on five pristine acres just inland from the waters of East Sound, and poised on the northern end of the San Juan National Wildlife Refuge, this lovely and spacious East Sound vacation rental home with room for 12 is waiting to be your home base as you explore the beauty and diversity of the Orcas Islands. With five bedrooms, three bathrooms, and two full kitchens, it's the perfect haven for your family getaway, reunion, or business retreat. You'll be just five miles from busy Eastsound where you'll find several restaurants, numerous gift stores, and a large grocery store.
Cedar Field has plenty of living area for everyone, whether you want to get together and chat, or go your separate ways. With lots of comfortable nooks and crannies, there are plenty of places to escape with a book, a sketchbook, or a laptop (free WIFI). When it's cold and rainy, you can snuggle up by the wood fireplace upstairs, or the woodstove downstairs. Stream a show on Netflix, or grab DVD from the library and pass the time with a movie. And when the weather's nice, there are simpler pleasures out on the big deck where you'll be beguiled by the amazing views of Turtleback Mountain and Crow Valley.
This bi-level gem has five bedrooms across two independent living areas and is perfect for two families or groups who want the option of a little more privacy. Two of the cozy bedrooms are upstairs, each with a queen bed, each smartly decorated with wood floors covered with area rugs, and plenty of closet and drawer space. Head downstairs where you'll find three more comfortable bedrooms, two of which also have queen beds. Put the kids in the fifth bedroom downstairs on its two twin beds. And a big group needs lots of bathrooms; no problem. This lovely home has three full baths, one of which has a deep soaking tub where you can take turns relaxing in its bubbly warmth. There's a washer and dryer, too, so you'll always have a fresh change of clothes.
Whether you're staying upstairs or down, you'll have access to a fully equipped kitchen. Each has the requisite stove, microwave, and dishwasher you'd expect to make both meals and clean ups quick and easy. Both are roomy and have all the pots, pans, utensils and cutlery you'll need to feed your hungry clan. Enjoy your meals at the dining tables on each level. On those days when the clouds over Puget part and the skies light up with sunshine, there is a gas grill outside just waiting for your hamburgers, steaks, or salmon. And just for fun, get a blaze going in the firepit and have some fun under the Northwest sky! (Please note that wood is provided for the inside wood stove but you should bring your own wood for the outside firepit.)
When you step onto Orcas Island, you step back in time! Less developed than its neighbor, San Juan Island, the island is a sea of green filled with gorgeous red madrona trees and lush foliage. With 40 miles of trails to explore, it's a hiker and cyclist's dream! Bring the camera to the top of Mount Constitution and get some breathtaking shots. Bring your appetite to one of the many eateries in Eastsound where you'll also find some wonderful shops where you can purchase every manner of pottery or artwork. Visit the farmer's market at the nearby public park. Or, just grab the equipment right there at the home and enjoy a fun game of horseshoes, volleyball, croquet, or badminton.
Thanks for considering a Vacasa home! We provide full-service management for privately owned vacation homes, and like to think that we offer our guests the best of both worlds: the unique experience of staying in a one-of-a-kind vacation home, with the peace of mind that comes from knowing that the home you book for your special vacation is cared for by professional housekeepers and property managers.
Vacasa began in 2009, simply because our founder and CEO Eric wanted to find a better way to share his wife’s family’s summer home in Long Beach, Washington with guests as a vacation rental. Eric and his early team worked to build Vacasa on the premise that local employees can do what they love most (taking care of guests, homeowners, and properties), while the hands-off tasks of vacation rental management—things like marketing, filing taxes, and maintaining a website—could be handled by a specialized central support team.
Our passion is connecting travelers with the unique experience of staying in a vacation home, and we would be honored to be your host. Please contact us with any questions about this home—our team is standing by!
"Dear Jesse, Our family had a fabulous week. Thank you for providing a vacation house where we could all be together. In a couple years we would like to do it again."
Overall good stay, very relaxing. Not necessarily high quality structure/furniture but worked well for our needs. Was pleasantly surprised by some kitchen utensils we wouldn't have expected (pastry blender!) but frustrating to not be able to put all items (glasses and mugs!) in the dishwasher.
We stayed at this property for 3 nights. It was very clean and comfortable. We saw deer and lots of bunnies on the property. It was nice and quite.
Definately enough room for a large group of 11 women. Two kitchens made the chefs in our group very happy. The grounds were beautiful with lots of bunnies. Roomy enough in the living room for all of us to play games during 'the storm of 2016'.
Thanks for the great escape. Too bad it was so short.
We had a group of 11 here for a retreat, and it was GREAT! The property is magical and beautiful... I was meditating down by the pond one morning, opened my eyes, and a bald eagle flew right in front of me! I love Orcas Island, and this visit didn't disappoint... lots of beautiful weather and outdoor time.
I'd been somewhat concerned about earlier reviews from about a month before we were to go, where they ran out of water. However, everything was fine for us... and we had 11 people! In fact, kudos to the water heater, as we had hot water for most showers (and that's a lot of showers!).
It's a great place to bring a nice-sized group. Would definitely stay there again!
The house was beautiful located in nice surroundings. But there is severe water problem in this house. We did not have water for using toilets or showering. One of our friend was half way through showering when water supply stopped. No water in the kitchen to cook anything. Totally frustrating experience.
