Casa del Charco is located in a privileged place ... the best place to Arrecife and one of the best on the island of Lanzarote in the mythical and spectacular Charco de San Ginés, a sea inlet open to an area that has formed a natural "inland lake" saltwater, with ups and downs tide, where lie the fishing boats of local people. It is a magical place in a very special and exclusive unique environment where very few have the pleasure of enjoying direct views over the Atlantic Ocean.

The place is a constant surprise visitors and invites you to discover walking while you let yourself lost in its historical streets.

Whether you like walking, the beach, playing sports or just sit and enjoy the surroundings, this is a perfect place for it.

In the Plaza de la Iglesia de San Ginés, (Pattern Arrecife) is held every Saturday a craft market and local produce, including fruit and vegetables from the ground, or wines and local pastries.

This whole area is pedestrian and now Charco Bay, has become a place with small bars and restaurants, offering "tapas" and enjoy a nice atmosphere with live music and art exhibits in exhibitions and museums.

The Playa del Reducto is located 5 min. from Casa del Charco. You have the option to walk along a boardwalk that runs parallel to the sea and that totals more than 15 km., While enjoying local attractions include Castle of San José and the famous and emblematic "Puente de las Bolas".

The house is perfect for up to 6 people.

It has 3 terraces, all great. Two of them directly overlook the sea and the third has the BBQ, but also you can see the sea from it.

Sit and enjoy the view is one of the pastimes offered by the house, and this is free, day and night, where the show is served and is totally different.

The photos do not do justice neither to the village nor the feelings that you can live in it. Our guests are thrilled and always with the impression that their stay was short. In Casa del Charco you have the chance to live for a time, in Paradise on earth, 'Lanzarote land of contrasts', an explosion for the senses of visiting us; sun, sea, sand and lava.

In Lanzarote, you can practice almost any kind of activity related to the sea as well as hiking, horse or camel riding, cycling, etc. or simply visit the island and its magnificent places, enjoy your food and hospitality of its people; and even just relax on one of the many spas and thalassotherapy centers. A very comfortable apartment in a fabulous setting.

I recently stayed in Ana's apartment with 2 friends for a week and can honestly say I have never had such a relaxing holiday. The position of the property is just fantastic and we spent a great deal of our time relaxing on one of the balconies and watching the world go by. The apartment is very well equipped and had everything we needed. All the bedrooms are a very good size and have plenty of storage space - important for 3 ladies! I was in the front bedroom and as this overlooked the restaurants and bars there was a bit of background noise until quite late however this did not stop me sleeping. We only cooked a meal once as there is such a good choice of excellent restaurants nearby. During the week we tried most of them and our particular favourite was Divine Italia which, conveniently. was just next door. They do a pizza with dates which was fantastic. As the apartment is so well located you can walk very easily to anywhere in the old town. There is also a road train and a little green bus (which is free) which will take you to the other side of the Arrecife Gran Hotel. We went there for the obligatory cocktail at sunset and were not disappointed. We took the bus to Costa Teguise one day and while the beaches were better it is very busy and commercialised and we much preferred our location. Certainly if you want a holiday in the sun in comfortable accommodation in a quieter location then this would suit you. We booked a transfer with Hoppa from the airport and they were excellent. Communication with Ana was very easy and it felt like meeting a friend when we arrived. I found the booking and paying process quite confusing - who was to be paid what and when - but when all that was resolved it was all very easy. I can certainly recommend this property.

Beautiful Spacious Apartment

Our stay at Charco De San Gines has been lovely. The apartment was spacious, well equipped & overall a home from home with the choice of 3 terraces to enjoy the fabulous weather & the annual festival of San Gines. Everything is very close to hand including a very well equipped supermarket & some delicious tapas restaurants, La Bulla & La Raspa to mention just two. Free buses run to & from the beach (except for Sunday's) if the walk in the heat is too much & a very informative tourist information office is on the promenade. Ana is also an excellent hostess who met us at the property, showed us around & was on hand for any queries we had during our stay, thank you Ana, we thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

Best Holiday Location Ever

My partner and I have just returned from staying at this property and we had an amazing time. The apartment is in the best location close to all the restaurants and bars. The beach is a few minutes walk, great shops, lovely tapas food everywhere.

The owner Ana was very helpful and very kindly dropped us back at the airport I would definitely go back again.

Wonderful apartment with fantastic views

Recently enjoyed a month in the apartment and it has everything you need for a short or long stay. The two balconys at the front of the apartment have fantastic views over the Charco San Gines, as does the sitting room and one of the upstairs bedrooms. All the rooms are well furnished and spacious and the kitchen is very well equipped, the washing machine on the upper floor is very useful for longer stays. There is also a garage which is useful if you rent a car or bikes although the bus service is excellent and takes you to most parts of the island. You are spoilt for choice with the bars and restaurants around the Charco which are on your doorstep but it is not noisy. Ana is a fantastic host, very helpful and friendly and replies to any queries very quickly. We enjoyed the apartment so much we have already booked it for next year.

Best location and fantastic views

A very modern property which is immaculateky clean. Set in the very popular and stunning Charco de San Gines where you are certainly in the heart of the 'happening' place which is extremely popular with the locals. You will be able to choose from the restaurants around the small inlet, three of the most popular of which are below you. It is a busy pedestrianised area and is very safe for young children who happily play in the area below while the rest of the families enjoy sitting outside relaxing among the palm trees and enjoying a leisurely lunch or late evening meal. The times of eating are much later than in the UK and continue into the early hours. Mornings are blissfully quiet and sitting on the balcony enjoying a late breakfast was a complete joy. There are street markets three times a week nearby. A delightful tapas area near the church became our favourite haunt. Easy walking through to the pedestrianised Main Street where we would walk each morning to buy our delicious croissants. Supermarket is also there along with many independent shops. Walk through to the beach and promenade and enjoy the feeling of being a local. You can get by without speaking Spanish but a phrase book is very helpful and the shopkeepers are delighted if you try to have a go at conversation. Loads of places to visit- the island keeps you busy looking at all the wonderful scenery, museums, and historic buildings - in fact you will fall in love with Lanzarote just like we have. The added bonus is the lovely property and utterly charming, welcoming and helpful hosts.

Best view in town!

The apartment is exactly as the photos show and it is in the best part of Arrecife. The apartment is large enough for three couples or a large family and the kitchen has plenty of cutlery, plates etc. so you can self-cater easily. We had no problems at all while staying there but it was easy to contact the owner if need be. The apartment was very clean, comfortable and the wifi worked well.

There are some very nice bars and cafes within a minutes’ walk and it is cheaper to eat out in Arrecife compared to Puerto Del Carmen & Costa Teguise. The bars by the ‘El Charco de San Gines’ are always busy and open till the early hours on a weekend but never loud enough so you cannot sleep. Puerto Del Carmen and Costa Teguise are not far away and are easy to get to via bus and taxi. The supermarket is less than five minutes away and there are plenty of shops if you want some retail therapy.

If you are not bothered about going to an Irish bar or eating English food, then Arrecife is a good alternative to Puerto Del Carmen and Costa Teguise and only ten minutes from the airport.

All communications with the owner were quickly responded to and very helpful. She met us at the apartment on time and was very friendly.
