Situated in a beautiful conservation area on the unspoilt coast of West Wales, this distinctive Victorian Villa overlooks the village of Llansteffan, recently voted Wales best kept secret! Hill House offers peaceful self catering holidays, and therapeutic breaks for those looking for rest, recuperation, and self catering accommodation. Surrounded by idyllic Welsh countryside and with stunning sea views, Hill House provides peace and quiet in beautiful natural surroundings. To maintain a peaceful environment no children under 6 are catered for and there is no TV. There is internet access.
Hill House may be rented as a whole or more often individual apartments/self catering rooms. Accommodation is from £70 per night for an apartment. Prices are fixed all year round with no seasonal peaks, and you can also check in any day of the week.
To maintain a quiet environment there are no radios or televisions in the rooms, but internet access is available if required. The rooms are simply decorated with natural wood furniture and light colours. There are wonderful, far-reaching views over the church, the castle, the village, the fields, and the Towy estuary.
The garden extends to about an acre and has even better views than the house as it stretches up the hill.
Each self contained apartment has a kitchen and shower room. Some have wood burning stoves as well as central heating and electric fires. Our fresh water is from our own natural spring and is tested regularly.
This is a description of the Garden Apartment:
The main bedroom of this bright, self catering apartment has a double and a single bed. There is an additional single bedroom and a separate lounge with views over the back garden. This may be used as a third sleeping area as it has a single sofa bed. The apartment has a smart shower room/toilet. There is a small, separate kitchen with a deck area and entrance from the side of the house; the wooded views are over the neighbouring fields to the sea beyond.
There is also a patio with direct access to the large rear garden and woods. Ideal if you have a dog. This apartment is approached from the rear of the house.

Also it is mid 19th century and has very high beautiful ceilings.
Own Spring water and very tranquil environment.
The views are to die for.
It is also very easy to get to.
I stayed in garden apartment with my wife and our dog, apartment could do with some work done, bathroom floor with damp next to the shower, but that didn't put us off. Comfortable beds, owner very nice and friendly. Walking distance to beutiful beach and Castle. Be careful driving up the hill going to the apartment,very narrow. Llansteffan is an excellent place to stay and relax, very quite, just what we needed.
Had an amazing time there with friends. The owner of the property is so friendly always available to help. I would definitely recommend this place. Nice areas are around to view. Beach is just 5mins walk.
A quiet town for anyone looking for a peaceful holiday but not for those (like us) who wanted some evening life also! We ate at the Castle Inn on our 1st night which was pricey but the food was just okay. The next day it was my 50th and we were going to eat at the Sticks Hotel that night but it was closed - so we decided to drive to the nearest town where the boys bought Dominos pizza and I bought a flan from Morrisons to take back to the apartment for dinner! We came to Llansteffan for a family holiday, with our dog, for my 50th birthday. Llansteffan is a quiet town and we loved the beach which also was not very busy so we were able to leave our dog off lead. The furnishings were dated - especially in our kitchen and the main communal kitchen - but useable. I stayed in the Garden Apartment with my husband, 2 boys (20 and 15 yrs old) and our german shepherd. We had problems with the shower on our 1st evening - water kept going cold and scalding hot, areal health & safety hazard. We called Lance (the owner) who advised that we should use the shower in one of the other apartments, which we did. The following day, Lance did some work on the filter and sorted out the problematic shower.
Beautiful house really enjoyed our stay steps to garden house were a bit dodgy when wet .

Enjoyed every bit of our brief vacation. Great point from which to explore South Wales including Pembrokeshire.
Upon arrival we were greeted by the owner, which was very friendly and helpful in getting us settled and know the area. We stayed for a long weekend at the garden apartment which is to the rear of the house, with a view of the wild back garden from the sitting room and of the bay from the main bedroom. Note there are some narrow steps to climb on the way. Since we were five, we used the sofa bed in the sitting room and the two bedrooms. Everything was very basic but clean and maintained. The small space in the kitchen doesn't work for five people to sit down, but if you are blessed with good weather like us then you can sit outside in the decking area.
We liked the location, which was about 5 minutes walk to the beach and coastal path, and to the castle.
Note: be careful as you drive through the path leading to the house - it is narrow. Also note that mobile phone reception in the area is very poor for O2, but good for EE (Orange, T-mobile, Virgin). There's Wi-Fi in the house itself, and the signal is received in most of the apartment.
We liked the local grocery shop for their good breakfast, and the cafe at the beach for their award-winning ice cream (following good recommendation from the owner). Everyone were very nice and friendly too.
