About the property

Superb coastal location property with two bedrooms overlooking the countryside.

‘Devon View’ caters for a family of four (or couples) in luxury surroundings. It has a spacious, modern living accommodation area which comprises of a large lounge/dining area with double french doors that lead onto a limestone patio area equipped with table and chairs which is ideal for outdoor living. The property is fully equipped to meet your holiday needs. In the lounge you will find a television and dvd player with a wide selection of dvds, books and games. On the ground floor there is a modern kitchen area with a washing machine, fridge freezer and dishwasher. The stable door opens onto the patio area which is ideal for easy access to the barbeque. This leads to a large safe and secluded grasses garden. As you enter the property to the right of the hallway, there is a downstairs toilet and wash basin and on the left hand side the oak stairway leads upstairs to a bathroom with a shower and two double bedrooms (one double bed and two twin beds) both with fabulous countryside views over farm fields. At the front of the property and main part of the house there is parking and here you can take in the beautiful views across the cliffs and sea to Devon or venture along the cliffs to the village and beaches of Pobbles and Three Cliffs in one direction or the secluded and unspoilt beach of Pwll Du and popular Caswell Bay in the other direction. The house is close to local amenities which includes a local shop/post office/coffee shop/newly opened restaurant and Southgate Club and Pennard Golf Club both of which serve meals. There is a newly opened art and craft shop near Pennard Golf Club where you can purchase hand made local souvenirs.The local bus route will take you to the nearby village of Bishopston and Murton where you can sample more local ales and food in The Plough and Harrow Gastro Pub. Please note that this is a non-smoking property.

I was brought up on the Gower Coast and after studying and working for 15 years in Bristol, I knew that eventually one day that I would return. I fell in love with this property and the most amazing sea views. I feel very fortunate to be able to live somewhere so beautiful with the sea as my neighbour. Home is where the heart is!

Well-appointed, good location with a very helpful and friendly owner.

Beautiful house in a great spot.

Spotlessly clean holiday home in a fantastic spot overlooking the sea. The house has everything you could need. Home from home. The owners are very lovely and nothing is too trouble. Ideal spot for the mumbles and coastal walks. Great lounge patio doors opening out onto a great patio and lawned area. Great for bgq in the nice weather. We will be back.

Cosy modern and home from home and excellent location

If you want the comforts of home away from the hustle and bustle this is for you! If you love walking and the Gower then this fits the bill. A warm welcome from Sharon, the owner, and all you need for a relaxing cosy break. Tucked away on the cliffs at Southgate you can walk from the house or be only minutes away by car from some of the best beaches in Wales. Definitely recommend a visit!

The local area is surrounded by beautiful golden beaches which includeThree Cliffs Pobbles, Hunts and Pwll Du. These are a short walk along the cliff from Devon View. There is a local shop and two coffee shops that serve delicious home food which are located in the heart of the village approximately 15 minutes walk away along the coastal road.There is a nearby club which you can walk to which is open to non members which serves meals and drinks and if you like golf, Pennard Golf Club is located on the way into the village of Southgate. A short drive away you can visit the pretty seaside resort of Mumbles with its famous Joes Icecream Parlour, local bars and cafes and chic fashion boutiques. There are local parks for the children and historic castles to explore such as Oystermouth Castle. A short walk from Mumbles are Langland and Caswell Bay. Here you can surf on the sea and visit the beachside cafes for refreshments while you watch the world go by. About 15 minutes drive from the village of Southgate is Penmaen. Here you will find an Archery and Bird of Prey Centre. The Gower Heritage Centre is located a short drive away in Parkmill and is an ideal trip for families with young children. In the next village along from Southgate there are three public houses in Bishopston: The Joiners, The Valley and The Plough which all serve food. Here you will also find is a local Co-op with very reasonable priced groceries.
