It is a self contained unit on 2 levels with its own garage for your car suitable for storage for your bike. The area offers incredible scenic walks, fishing, cycling, mountain biking horse riding and 6 golf courses within a 5 mile radius. We are surrounded by the beautiful Ochil Hills with breath taking Glens and Water Falls, Gartmorn Dam Nature Reserve and Country Park is only a mile away. If you are looking for a bit more excitement we have Stirling known as"The Gateway to the Highlands" only 8 miles away where you can find pubs restaurants leisure facilities bowling and many more historic tourist attractions. We are also central for Glasgow and Edinburgh both approximately 35 miles away. Whether you are looking for an action packed holiday or a peaceful break Heather Retreat ticks all the boxes.

Great accommodation, perfect location.

We had a lovely stay here, Jay was very friendly and met us on arrival. The apartment was clean, spacious and well equipped. Beautiful views from window and loved having a balcony.

Jay couldn’t do enough for us and any problem we encountered was quickly sorted. Bread, milk etc were provided on arrival which was great, garage for our own use as well.

Highly recommend! Thank you Jay, it was a pleasure meeting you and hopefully you will be happy to accommodate us in the future.

Convenient, friendly owners, easy in and out!

This is a wonderful studio/apartment. It is very nicely furnished, including a great audio system which we enjoyed. Owners George and Jay are very friendly and helpful. Kitchen is more than adequate, chairs are comfortable, nice deck on back, quiet, comfortable bed. Welcoming treats were a wonderful extension of hospitality. Unlike most holiday rentals they even had nice tall drinking glasses and large coffee/tea mugs in the cupboard. Good walking in the area, suggested by Jay. If you have a bicycle it would be a wonderful location. Easy walk (5 min) to a convenience store, and a bit longer walk to more of a full service type grocery. We will definitely try this one again! Pictures on web site do not do this place justice. (If stairs are a problem for you this is not the place for you)

Must have been an 'off' weekend...

We are quite surprised to be leaving such a review after reading all the positive feedback. First impressions were amazing. Lovely decor, great ambience. We were greeted well and shown around as well as given recommendations for place to eat etc.

When asked how to control the heating, we were told it was only controlled from the main house and we need not to worry. We were also told the 'Private' door connecting both buildings would permanently be closed. Once we were left to settle in, we found multiple non working heaters in the property. It was quite cold. We thought they would kick in over night, but they didn't. We then came across many cobwebs from house plants to the couch, in between walk ways in side the dish cupboards. The balcony was infested with massive spiders and countless cobwebs. The bedding/linen smelt very stale and used. The extra linen was in worse condition. Finally, on our last day - my partner and I were in the kitchen, somewhat inappropriately clothed for public view, and the owner had opened the 'Private' and 'non used' door connecting the Outhouse to the main house. Naturally it was an awkward encounter for everyone however, the Owner was quite happy to stay and have a conversation. This upset us quite a bit as we felt very embarrassed and extremely uncomfortable. We would highly recommend to have a door bell or telephone connection to the outhouse rather than direct access to respect the privacy of guests. We would also recommend new bedding and linen every so often that a new guest stays as well as a deep clean every time. (Added note, it was my girlfriends birthday).

Owner's Response: I am really sorry you felt compelled to leave such a disappointing review. I am also more than a little surprised. I clean the apartment myself and as many customers will testify-have never had a complaint like this. RE departure day I knocked on the door of the apartment after the normal 11.00am leaving time to advise you I was going off to work and thee was no rush for you to leave. There was a misunderstanding when I thought you asked me to come in. Should you genuinely have felt as strongly as your comments indicated, then please remember for the sake of all hard working owners trying to provide a great experience for their guests - immediate notification gives us the much appreciated chance to put things right, so you can enjoy your stay fully, which I assumed you had, as you were in no rush to leave Sincerely Jay
