The perfect country home!

What a great place! I only wish we could have stayed longer! A lot of space on beautiful land - just outside of town makes it a private, quiet location!

The Best!

  • 5 of 5

Even though my wife and I spent three months of off-season winter at the Country House Villa, we enjoyed every minute of it. It sits on a hillside with an olive grove behind and sheep grazing across the road in front. Castel Madama sits atop the nearby hill with easy shopping and services (cappuccino!) available. The Country House was spacious, newly redecorated, well-appointed, and 15 minutes from Tivoli (a must see) and 30 minutes from Rome (or 20 minutes to the Metro). It was the perfect place for our first visit to Italy. And the owners... well Daria and Angelo are the best, and will bend over backwards to ensure your stay is entirely enjoyable. And if you're lucky, their daughter Lucia will come by with her big smile and make Italy even sunnier than it was before

Wonderful Italy!

  • 5 of 5

We stayed at the guest house Villa Pietro Romano for the whole month of June. We came by car, with lots of luggage and our two children (3 and 6 years old). We found the house located in a wonderful, rural and quiet location just off the hillside of Castel Madama, approximately 1km away from the main road connecting Castel Madama with the Motorway and the road towards Tivoli. There were two self-contained apartments in the house, each with own kitchen and bathroom: one on the ground floor and one on the first floor. Garden, washing room, barbecue and swimming pool were shared but due to the levelling of the garden we could enjoy absolute privacy and never felt disturbed by anyone. The large garden was filled with cherry and olive trees and was fully fenced. It was great to see the kids explore the safe area, climb olive trees and pick the ripe cherries. There were toys outside and we had many wonderful evenings just sitting by the barbecue and watching the kids catch fireflies. The swimming pool was of course a main attraction and we were happy to have such a bonus. The house interior is very practical for a family, clean, spacious and very comfortable. The self-catered villa (cleaning service and change of bed sheets/towels on a weekly basis was included) contains everything we needed during our stay, beginning with kitchen equipment, bedding, towels to such details like sugar, air-conditioning or tourist information. We really did not miss anything in the house and felt like at home away from home. The great location of the house must be mentioned as well. We were looking for something close enough to Rome to be able to get there within 30 minutes' drive but we were not crazy about a stay in Rome itself. We preferred a quiet, rural location with lots of space for the kids and a base camp for outings into the beautiful Lazio region. I must say that the Villa Pietro Romano exceeded all our expectations in each of these points. Not only were we close to Rome and Tivoli; we were also able to make great sightseeing tours to Subiaco, Valmontone and other wonderful, ancient towns surrounding Castel Madama. We even managed to drive to Pompeii and further to the Amalfi coast without that we felt tired from the drive. The house is also surrounded by many historic and touristic sites (Villa Adriana, Villa d'Este and many more) so that one can discover so much more than "just" the known tourist attractions Rome has to offer.

Ruim, comfortabel en goed uitgerust appartement

  • 5 of 5
