The National Park is only 5 min away. Enjoy the magnificent views of the glacier Snaefellsjökull, the surrounding mountains, and over the bay Faxaflói. We had a very nice stay in this cottage that is located in a very quiet, inspiring and staggering area. We came late at night to this perfectly clean and beautiful house and where happy to find that the beds where nicely made ready with clean fresh sheets so we could crawl strait in. The house is equipped with everything you need, dishwasher, washing machine, drier, very comfortable beds and nicely furnished. There is a big patio around the house so we could always find shelter from the wind. The area Snafellsnes is amazing. We never got tired to just watch the mountains, the lava formations and colors, the spectacular cliffs along the shore and the Glazier. The communication´s with the owner was very friendly and helpful during our planning. We give this house and this area our best recommendations and will surely be back for more. Thank you!!!
We (a family with children aged 10 and 12) had an absolutely fantastic stay at this property. The accommodation was warm, light and lovely with really comfortable beds and bedding. Jakob and Elsa were really welcoming and super helpful in answering any questions about the booking and even sent us a text to tell us the Northern Lights 'were on'. The location of the house, with views to the glacier behind and the coast and big skies in front was just wonderful. We walked the coast to Arnarstapi, had the black pebble beaches to ourselves at Djupalonssandur and Dritvik, swam and soaked in the hot tubs at the pool in Olafsvik, watched massive waves crash against the cliffs at Malariff and spent a couple of nights watching the Northern Lights under clear, starry skies from the deck of the property. This house and its setting are really special - we really hope to return!
We stayed here End of February and we was enthused.
From the first contact up to the personal meeting Jakob was very nice and provided us with important and useful information.
The cottage is very comfortable and well equipped. Nothing is missing here.
Thanks again to Jakob and Elsa, who enable us with her cottage and her kindness a great holiday.
We will be back definitely.

We stayed here in February with so much snow. OH MY GOSH, the whole area, scenery, landscapes, and the small handful of cottages nestled by the sea was so majestic. We loved the cottage and the area so much and can't wait to go back. Getting there was a bit of a challenge considering it was dark and snowing a lot, but when we woke up the next morning we all knew it was WELL WORTH the drive. My family and I had the most wonderful stay. The cottage was so so so lovely. We had everything we needed. Jakob the owner even checked in with us the night we arrived and the next day even to make sure we made it safely and everything was ok. We can't thank you enough for making your lovely home available to us and hope to be able to stay again in the very near future!
My husband and I stayed in one of the luxury cottages during our stay in Iceland. We were there for 4 nights and the location was amazing. The view of the water and coast is spectacular and very little light pollution so we had fantastic views of the Northern Lights. The cottage itself was very clean, a ton of amenities and all in all was a very quaint, charming experience. The house was delightfully decorated with a lot of mood lighting for those cozy, cold Iceland evenings. The kitchen was quite stocked with utensils, platters, spices and oils for cooking. Very, very accommodating and private! The drive to the Snaefellsjokull National Park is short and easy even during the winter. We also found the location nice as we felt that we really got away, but weren't far from towns, such as, Rif and Olafsvik if we needed something.
The owners, Elsa and Jakob, were very organized as well. They sent a lot of information to make our stay easier beforehand. I would definitely take their advice regarding stopping for groceries in Borganes prior to arriving at their cottage. This was much more cost effective than any of the nearby groceries. Their fridge and freezer are quite spacious for Europe so you can stock up.
I hope we make it back some day!
We are a couple who are in love with Iceland and who were on our fifth visit. We have stayed in many places all over Iceland and they have all been excellent.
However, Jakob and Elsa have the best of all worlds - a soacious, well-equipped, warm, clean home from home in a location which is second to none.
When the storms raged, we chilled out safe and warn inside with lots brilliand Clint Eastwood films (plus many more). And when they had blown over we were at the foot of the glacier, right on the beach, with birds nesting nearby and very little light pollution when we wanted to wander outside and look at the Northern Lights. The Snaefellsnes National Park has so many natural wonders to visit and well-marked routes, you will not run out of adventures to have.
Thank you for letting us share your beautiful home. We hope to be back soon!

My daughter and I recently stayed at this cottage for a month. Before choosing this one I researched over 130 other places to stay while visiting iceland. When I came across this cottage I just felt like this was the one for us, and I was not disappointed. It exceeded our hopes and expectations.
The cottage has everything you could even think of wanting or needing right at your fingertips. It is extremely well maintained and clean. It was like having all the conveniences of home while enjoying the peacefulness of being away.
Jakob was so helpful and accommodating and really went above and beyond in making our stay easy and enjoyable.
This was by far the easiest and most pleasurable vacation we have ever experienced and we can't wait to do it again.
