The villa is located in a rural area just outside the village which is about 2 kilometers away. and is fenced and gated..
Machi the owner lives in Volos on the mainland so her grandparents look after the villa most of the time. her grandfather Dimitri speaks English and they will welcome you to Villa Aigio
Mahi Orfanou purchased this villa in 2014
Villa Aigio is a perfect holiday home but its crowning glory is its position. The area north of the village of Glossa is know as Punta(pronouced "Punda") and for thousands of years was home to tiny communities of subsistence farmers with olive, fruit and nut trees ,growing vines and keeping sheep. Those communities have gone now ,although the trees and the sheep remain! and the area is a paradise of nature. there are wild forests, steep coves and little used pathways and the silence is wonderful. The perfect place to get away from it all but still close enough to local amenities to walk to them .. if you are feeling energetic. The views are what entrance most visitors though as the view to the west across the island of Skiathos to the mainland and the mountain ranges of central Greece is truly breathtaking. But also turn to the south and you see the island of Evvia and then to the north Mt Pelion rises 1,600 meters(over 5000ft) from the sea. And come sunset all this is set off by a show of light and colours you will always remember/
A newly built pool villa with spacious rooms a private and quiet position but near to amenities and beaches..
We spend 3 weeks in this wonderful relaxing villa.
Everything exceed our expectation. The view is spectacular. The environment is absolutely quiet. The house is spotlessly clean and well equipped and comfortable with everything you would need to have a relaxing break (high quality tableware and electrical appliances (toaster, espresso machine, coffee machine, sandwich toaster, …) and lots of towels and bed linen) Even coffee, spicery, vinegar and oil was available. The separate pergola is a great place for enjoying your breakfast or your drink during the beautiful sunset.
Glossa is a small village which offers everything you need for your holiday.
We fall in love with the beach Perivoliou, which is just 10min away from the house by car. Most of the times we were alone on this beach (the one on the right side which you reach by a 5 min walk)
Avoid Skopelos if you are looking for party or nightlife. But if you are looking for a quiet, green, clean environment, Skopelos is the perfect island.
Mahi, the owner was always very responsive and very supportive. It starts with the first inquiry, and ends after we forgot our mobile phone in the house when we leave, and a week later it arrives at our home. Great support and thank you very much for the good communication.
The parents-in-law of Mahi which takes care about the house are very helpful and so lovely. We had lots of very good communication with them.
Usually we never stay twice on the same location, but who knows? We start getting homesick when we look at our pictures from our vacation….
A truly wonderful location for a relaxing holiday , the villa is beautiful , clean and just perfect for relaxing and as s base to explore this lovely green island , glosses is close by 10 mins around the winding roads or 20 min walk down the track nearby , some lovely tavernas there and a butcher for your bbq needs bbq at the villa in the evenings is better than any restaurant though stunning views 😎
We loved our holiday on Skopelos in Villa Aigaio. The villa is set alone on the mountainside and faces west. Total peace that is restorative and enables complete relaxation. The children enjoyed many hours in the pool on the picturesque terrace, which provides a beautiful view of Skiathos and spectacular sunsets. For company, it is not far to the lovely town of Glossa, which also faces west its white, stone buildings and narrow streets built on the mountainside above the port of Loutrakis. Here there are shops, which include bakeries and a mini market; good food to eat, for example, gyros near one of the main squares; and even a bar with yet another spectacular view higher up in the town. We feel so fortunate to have had a holiday here. Thank you.
We enjoyed our two week honeymoon in this wonderful villa in April/ May timeframe and could not have imagine a better place for this. When we first stepped out to the terrace and relished the beautiful view it was overwhelming – the pictures just can give a glimpse of the loveliness of this place. The original view over Euböa, Skiathos and the Mainland is even more impressing. During the day you can relax on the sunbed and watch the ferries going from and to the neighbored island. In the evening you can enjoy the sunset which is every day different.
Referring to the villa and the very pleasant care by the owner and his family we can just confirm the recent reviews: the house is new, the equipment is of high quality, very clean and – for us the main reason to go there – due to the fact that it is located outside of Glossa very quiet. We were supported with very good hints beforehand as well as during the trip, warm-hearted welcome and perfectly supervised. The hospitality that we could become familiar with during the time made us feel welcome.
During our stay we discovered the island per pedes and ATV and found many places worth seeing and enjoyable – but no place is so beautiful than this piece of earth. For travelers who prefer quietness we can strongly recommend this villa.
What a wonderful villa - stunning views with fabulous sunsets - an uninterrupted view across to Skiathos. The owners were so welcoming and could not have been more helpful. The gardens surrounding the villa have been beautifully laid out and have some stunning flowers. The villa itself was spotlessly clean, as was the pool. The kitchen and bathrooms were well equipped with everything you could need - also lots of hot water. We only stayed a few days at the end of our holiday - all too short. So peaceful, you really feel as if you are on your own island. Glossa itself is a very pretty village with winding streets and pretty houses. Several excellent tavernas, especially the one at the top of the village near the church. Do visit the deli in the village which sells good wine, coffee and other greek specialities. The grocery store on the main road has everything you could need, and the owners are lovely. We really do recommend this villa for the peace, relaxation, and excellent hosts. Hope to return again very soon.
Just came back from an amazing week in skopelos and this amazing house! The house was everything we asked for and even more. Fully equipped with anything you might need, and the most stunning view I have ever enjoyed in a holiday house! Highly recommended for family holidays!! And not to forget, the most friendly and welcoming owners you could ask for! Thank you for all your help and hospitality!!
This beautiful quiet end of the island is just a few minutes from the unspoilt hill village of `Glossa and the lovely local beaches. It is a tranquil area with amazing views towards the west. There is a local kayak school which has accompanied trips for all ages and experience levels . Also there is a diving school, stand up paddle boarding etc but most people come just to relax drink in the views, and the local wine ,and enjoy this unspoiled paradise. The church of Ayios Yannis made famous by the film "Mamma Mia" is just a short drive away too.
The village,Glossa, is sometimes called the balcony of the Aegean as its elevated position gives panoramic views at every turn.It has shops, tavernas, coffee shops, a pharmacy etc and is still very much a "real" Greek village. Its port just below the village is Loutraki ,where the ruins of a roman settlement can be found, and this ancient place is a sleepy but useful place to eat and drink by the sea and access the waterborne transport .
