Brilliant Location

  • 5 of 5

I found the apartment the best location in Paris and suitable for my needs and close to the places I wanted to see by walking. In the 7 days I was there I bought a carnet of metro tickets (10) and only used 3. I was surprised to find that Gare Châtelet Les Halles was very close to the apartment and only one stop from Gare de Lyon, my arrival station in Paris. When I left for CDG airport from there it was a 40 minute direct line with only one stop at Gare de Nord. Getting out at the Lescot exit I could see the building across the square. The instructions and advice from Madame Blanchet were very helpful, Kelly the caretaker was helpful and kind to me as well.

There are many shops in the Forum Les Halles including a large supermarket, Monoprix, corner rue Rambateau, diagonal to the church, where downstairs I could get freshly squeezed orange juice from a self server machine. There are so many eating places in the area aside from madame Blanchet's recommendations you could just explore the streets and find your own. Using the GPS on google maps on my iphone I never had to ask for directions I used an Orange.fr sim card because I was in France for 7 weeks.

Three cons. Being elderly I found it difficult to access the fridge under the bench I find it physically hard to pick things up from the floor so found the frigo in an awkward place for me. Some street noise can filter through at night, I found it the same wherever I lived in France. I used the sound of the fan as white noise. The sixty narrow steps to the apartment are a reality in most buildings in France and was doable for me but I was puffing by the time I got to the apartment. But.... its Paris ! I was happy just to be there.

The building is secure, the area a smorgasbord of eating, walking distance to a lot of attractions and Madame Blanchet and Kelly helpful, I highly recommend the apartment.

Felt Like Home

  • 4 of 5

The apartment overall was amazing! My boyfriend and I were very comfortable, the kitchen was pretty well stocked, and the apartment felt spacious. The major downside was we had to supply our own toilet paper. I attempted to reach out to the owner and ask where she kept the extra toilet paper, but it took her until the day before we left to respond. Even then, she told me I could go downstairs and get some from her but when I told her I'd come she said she wouldn't be home until late. Yikes. So that's why this property is 4 stars instead of 5, it was a major inconvenience to have to supply the toilet paper. Especially since it was an expensive property. Would stay again.

From the time I booked, to the time I left, this space and the owner of it showed nothing short of amazing service. The space was beautiful and centrally located to everything we wanted. The wine that was left for us was thoughtful and delicious! I and my new husband was sad to leave!

Nice apartment in a great location.

  • 5 of 5

We spent five days here and really enjoyed ourselves. The location could not be better. Its in a large non-traffic area with many small restaurants and cafes. The train and metro stations are a five to ten minute walk. The Louvre and Notre Dame are an easy 15 minute walk. The apartment, while quite small, had everything my wife and I needed. Anne-Marie's communication with us was very good during and after the booking process. I would recommend this place as long as you can handle stairs.

Visiting for 3 nights with my daughter. Location was brilliant. We walked everywhere. There was a Metro station right there and plenty of shops and restaurants to meet needs right on the doorstep. The apartment was beautiful and clean. Loads of room to store our belongings. Bed was very comfy. The square can be a bit noisy but when the windows are shut you can't hear a thing. Thanks to our hostess who arranged a cab for us to train - we appreciated your help and much enjoyed our stay.

If you want to experience what it's REALLY like to live in Paris, this is your place! Staying here is like having your own 'pied a terre!' I will DEFINITELY come back over and over again! Every thing written in the other reviews is true, so I won't repeat anything here. M. Blanchet: Merci, merci, merci!
