The flat was perfect ! Easy to get to from the train station. Right in the heart of Old Town, within a short walk to EVERYTHING ! The flat was comfortable, clean and perfectly sized for two. We would stay here again in a heartbeat.
This roomie, well-kept apartment was steps away from the castle and Royal Mile. It had breath-taking views of the city and Arthur's Seat and looked straight down onto Grassmarket, which has a very active nightlife, plus some very excellent eating establishments (make reservations, particularly on weekends.) There is no lift, so pack relatively light, or be prepared to carry you bags to the second floor (and remember that in Europe they don't count the ground floor.) Due to the location, the nighttime activities can continue until late. If you are not one of them, it can get a little loud, so bring earplugs. I did, and it was no problem. The property manager was very friendly and extremely helpful. We didn't cook much due to the excellent restaurant choices, but the kitchen was well stocked. I hadn't used a French Press for coffee before, but I learned how via YouTube and now I'm going to have to purchase one - it was great. I had never been to Edinburgh before, but we were there for quite a while, took the Hop On Hop Off bus to get our bearings and went all over the city. This centrally located apartment was by far the best location to use as a base for visiting this wonderful city. For longer trips, it's a 5 minute walk downhill to the main Waverly train station. The Old Town area is great for walking as long as you can handle hills and steps, but there are also taxis everywhere. This was in my top ten favorite cities I've been to, and I've been to over 70 countries. There are too many great things to list, but some hidden gems were the writers museum and the rooftop terrace on the National Museum (on a clear day.) The walk to the top of Arthur's Seat is vigorous, but worth it. Bottom Line: This was a great apartment, and Edinburgh is a great city - not to be missed.
This apartment is in a great location with easy access to all that Old Edinburgh has to offer. The apartment was clean, comfortable and exactly as advertised. We loved the Saturday morning farmer's market that was a short walk to the Castle Terrace area. There were additional outside vendors (food, clothing, etc.) in the Grass Market area as well, that provided wonderful food options for eating in - not to mention the multitude of restaurant choices nearby. The Castle Arms pub that is just steps out the front door has a wonderful staff, Donald was quite an engaging bartender. We would definitely stay again.

The apartment is very nice and clean with a large bedroom & closet. Great views from the windows. We didn't cook but it had a great kitchen. The bathroom is small but nicely appointed. Sink is tiny so not much room to put toiletries. The washing machine and drying rack were very efficient. Overall, I felt that the apartment was exactly as the pictures show it. Jayne was quick to respond to my emails which was much appreciated. The lock boxes with codes to retrieve the keys is so much easier than the usual method of having to meet someone at a specific time. The only negatives are the loud revelers that are out till the wee hours and the stairs, which are really only a problem with getting luggage in and out. The location is fabulous - we walked to everything. We liked the old town feel of the building and the restaurants right outside the front door, including a small coffee & sandwich place 3 doors down, which made everything convenient.
