Great apartments in good location
Have just spent 1 week in the Nectar apartment at eucalyptus apartments in Sami Kefalonia. Each apartment has a different name and design depending upon size .
I cannot fault our apartment.. spacious and well equipped especially for just the 2 of us ... the super king size bed was great .. no cramped double or twin beds pushed together. The apartment can sleep 4. The design was modern and minimalist... and very clean .
There were lots of little touches that made it special... from wine and water in the fridge .. to simple things like cotton wool balls and small toiletries to a fully equipped kitchen including bin bags , and cling film etc as well as tea/ coffee and salt and pepper .
The staff were delightful and we had two full cleans / linen changes in our 7 days .
Our apartment had a great view of the beach just across the road and was well away from the pool area which suited us . Quite a few of the apartments do have pool and sea views .
Sami is well located on the island if you really wish to explore by car as everywhere is not too far . The port of Sami was about a 20m walk along the sea front on a useful pathway . There were lots of restaurants and bars there of varying quality and prices .
It was easy to book boat trips to Ithaca..
We had a wonderful time and highly recommend where we stayed .
Very well managed apartments. Exactly as described.
Modern, spacious and clean apartment in a great location run by wonderful helpful people
We stayed for 2 weeks with our young baby. The apartment had more than enough space and everything was modern and very clean. The apartments are a close and pleasant walk to central Sami. The pool is lovely in the complex and there were lots of beach accessories to borrow from their store. Hari and Reggina were super helpful in arranging boat hire, restaurant bookings, transfers and generally being a great source of local info. Very accessible, and also very hospitable decent people who made our stay wonderful. Highly recommended.
Fantastic, clean, modern, excellently located apartments right on the sea
We spent our second Kefalonia week based at Eucalyptus apartments, which was a perfect location for exploring the island and a pleasant 20 minute walk into Sami along the beach path. Nectar apartment is very spacious, bright, clean and renovated to a high standard, with a balcony with sea view. We are a family of four but the one bedroom apartment with sofa beds in the lounge allowed plenty of space. Beautiful location with a pool and gorgeous Sami bay on your doorstep. 5 mins walk to Melissani caves. The manager Harry was so very warm, friendly and welcoming, always available if we needed anything and we enjoyed our amusing chats! Thank you also for the welcome drinks and delicious home made biscuits.
Wonderful apartment, super clean, amazing views of the sea, has everything you need. Harry is particularly helpful and on hand whenever needed.
Great apartment in good location
Very clean and well kept apartment with great view. We stayed two adults with three teenagers. Functional and centrally located. The complex has a nice pol. We traveled around the island and Sami is a good starting point for most atractions and beaches. Will come again.
Kefalonia is the largest of the Ionian Islands off Greece' west coast, which also include Corfu, Lefkada and Zante (Zakynthos). The Island boasts excellent tourist resorts, the biggest being at Lassi, Poros, Skala and Sami. Smaller more laid back resorts are at Lourdata, Katelios, Assos, Argostoli, Lixouri and Fiscardo to name a few. The island is not only the largest amongst the Ionian Islands, but also features the highest mountain, Mount Ainos, which reaches a height of 1627 M, and covered with Kefalonian fir trees. On a clear day the summit provides stunning views of the neighbouring island of Zante (Zakynthos), Lefkada and Ithaca.
Kefalonia has long established credentials as one of the most beautiful places in the world, having received accolades from many high profile professional publications such as Forbes, who awarded Kefalonia the 4th place spot in the 'world's most idyllic places to live. The world famous Myrtos beach, the jewel of our island, lies not far away and is widely considered to be the finest beach in Greece,
Karavomylos is one of the regions of the island most blessed by the unspoilt beauty the area is famous for, with wonders both natural and man made close at hand..One of the many surprising gifts of nature to be found in Kefalonia, Lake Melissani is a stunning underground lake. Close to Karavomylos, only a half kilometre from the sea, this cave-lake has an open roof allowing the light to play on the surface of the water and cast vivid colours and reflections on the glistening walls of the cavern. Small boats circle the lake offering breath-taking photo opportunities of this natural phenomenon. Its Greek name 'cave of the nymphs' reinforces the widely held opinion of those who study the Greek Odyssey, that Lake Melissani is in fact Homer's Cave of the Nymphs, a place of mischievous magical creatures!
Tourists can expect to find a variety of activities across the island, from horse riding to hiking, snorkelling and scuba diving, watersports and boat rentals to name a few, or simply explore the islands many olive groves, vineyards, caves, churches and monasteries, and of course the many stunning beaches, including the world famous Myrtos beach, Antisamos beach, a popular beach only 20 minutes away, with taverns and beach bars. Whether you want a mountain trek, a dungeon crawl through an ancient castle, a tour through millions of years old caves with underwater lakes, kayaking around the island or just to relax next to the clean refreshing Ionian sea, Kefalonia can accommodate you in a way few other destinations can match.
