'The Annexe' is a very pleasant one bedroom apartment at one end of a large family house at the top of Solva village. The beautiful harbour, beach and coastal path are within easy walking distance. 'The Annexe' provides a comfortable base from which to explore the spectacular and varied Pembrokeshire Coastline. It has the perfect combination of being a very quiet and peaceful location and yet within easy reach of all you need for a weeks stay. If you choose, there is no need to use your car for your entire stay. There is also a very efficient coastal walking bus service for those of you who want to make the most of the wonderful Pembrokeshire Coastal Path.

The picturesque village of Solva in the National Park area of Pembrokeshire, offers the visitor a wealth of unspoilt coastline. The Fiord like harbour forms a safe anchorage: there are sands, rock pools and caves. Safe bathing can be enjoyed and the sailing enthusiast, fisherman, diver, ornithologist and rambler will discover a really spectacular area of interest.

'The Annexe' forms part of a large family house right at the top of Solva village. It's atmosphere is compact and tasteful, providing the visitor with all the comforts of home in lovely surroundings. The accommodation is on the ground floor and would be suitable for someone who is slightly disabled - with one small step over the threshold. The main part of the house enjoys views out over St Brides Bay but this is not quite visible from 'The Annexe' windows. The village with shops and post office is 5 minutes walk away down a fairly step road.

The entrance is secluded with a patio area complete with garden seating and flowering tubs. There is a conservatory which catches the sun most of the day and where it is lovely to eat meals or just use as an extra room in which to relax. The main sitting room has a two seater settee and a single comfy chair. There is a also a television with DVD player as well as a CD player with Ipod docking. Adjoining the sitting room is a compact kitchen which is fully equipped with an electric cooker, microwave oven etc which as new in 2016. The bathroom has a bath which incorporates a seat as well as a shower overhead, built in basin, W.C. and washing machine under the airing cupboard.

We have lived in Solva for nearly thirty years and although we love to travel we wouldn't want to live anywhere else. Winter and summer it is fabulous. In our opinion, Spring and late summer are the best months in Pembrokeshire.

Notes:
The apartment is very convenient for the less able. However there are five steps up from the parking area with no hand rail. It is possible to bypass the steps and access The Annexe front door via a level lawned area. For those wanting a base from which to explore the incomparable National Park Pembrokeshire coastal path, look no further! Electricity-Please note: This is charged at £20 per week or part week from 14th February untill 23rd October 2015 and £30 per week or part week from 24th October 2015 until 13th February 2016

The bathroom needs an upgrade but generally the place was clean and comfortable.

The flat is separate from the remainder of the house which is great. The kitchen is modern and the living area spacious and there is plenty of storage. However the double bed is rather narrow, the bathroom is very dated, the shower is very poor and should ideally be a power shower in a shower cubicle. There is what appears to be a new tv but it is far too small. I was disappointed that on arrival we were expected to leave £20 in cash on departure for electricity (night storage heaters). As far as I am concerned the price we pay up front should be the cost of the hire. Other than those few niggles it was a great little place, in a good position for the coastal path with a short walk down to the harbour for a beer.

Warm and well equipped little cottage for two.

We spent a week here over Christmas. A good situation with easy access on foot down to the village, harbour , and to cliff walks. We were lucky with the weather for visiting St Davids, beaches, and walking on the coastal path, after which we were very happy to return to the comfortable sitting room.

A pleasant cottage

We found the cottage suitable for our needs. It was clean. The conservatory was a good area for the dogs. The location was fairly good although a little way to the village in Solva. Small suggestions - more cutlery, improve the outside enclosed area. Information said bin would be emptied by owners but it wasn't so there was a build up of rubbish.

In summary, a nice cottage in a quiet area with a sea view. Good, friendly pub just down the road as well as general store close by.

Owner's Response: It was kind of our guests to take the time to write the above review. We are happy that the two lovely black dogs enjoyed the the free run of the appartment. Apologies for forgetting to come around on dustbin day - I've now put a reminder in my phone! I hadn't realised that the apartment was short of cutlery. I have now restocked it. Its good that our guests found the local pub in the village close by and friendly. We agree that the village shop is a great asset (it sells everything) and very nice that it is close enough to stroll to in the morning when collecting the newspaper/bread etc.
