Why vito coda nunziante chose Piano di Sorrento

I was born there. My family has spent his holidays in the villa since 18th century ! We all love it very much !

What makes this villa unique

Villa Jenny is special for summer and other holidays. It is very spacious: you can stay the whole family with children, grand parents, young people. The villa is very pleasant and very fresh in summer !

Guestbook comments from the owner

Five generations lived in this house. I am borned there, my grandmother and my mother too. All the family lived here during the second world war and my children married there to renew with traditions.

I hope you will be enchanted by the orange fragrance in the spring time as well as the pinetree in summer. The garden in front of the sea is very refreshing.

I will be very happy if you share your impressions with me.

Villa Jenny is incredible and Rosa makes the experience unforgettable!

  • 5 of 5

We had a wonderful time in Sorrento and absolutely loved Villa Jenny! The location was perfect-right across the lift to the beach and just over a mile away from the center of Sorrento. The villa itself is spectacular! There were 7 of us ranging from 10-52 years old and we had room to spare! You MUST invite Rosa to cook for you! Homemade authentic Italian meals with multiple courses of fresh food with ingredients picked from the garden out back. Francesco provided transportation from the airport and to several of our tours and was very helpful with local knowledge. Vito was extremely responsive and helpful before and during our trip. Emma was a wonderful hostess and offered support in getting around and local adventures (such as an art experience!) Overall it was our favorite family vacation to date, mostly due to the combined hospitality of this team!

A delightful step back into a simpler time

  • 5 of 5

I chose this property because of it’s old world charm, but the pictures do not even do justice to the experience we all had at Villa Jenny. My daughters and my very special friend planned this trip to make my 60th Birthday wish come true! The rooms, the gardens, the rooftop views were all spectacular, but in addition we were treated like family by Vito, Emma, Francesco and Rosa who attended to every need and question. My birthday dinner was prepared by Rosa- the most delicious gnocchi I’ve ever tasted, along with fresh picked tomatoes, lettuce from the garden, bread, wine, and a very special dessert- tiramisu! I’d advise anyone to have Rosa cook for you- you will want to take her home! The villa is close to the beach, Sorrento, and was a great home base for trips to Positano, Capri, Ravello, and Ischia, which we all enjoyed with Francesco always ready to drive us wherever we needed to go.

I could go on and on, but I would rather go back to Sorrento. :)

A Genuine Experience!!!!

  • 5 of 5

Everything about this villa was fantastic! First, it was huge and very spacious. Only one double bed (the rest twins) so plenty of options for kids to sleep but unconventional for couples but it’s manageable. Rustic and authentic, definitely 18th century, and very unique. If you are looking for all the modern amenities this place probably isn’t for you but if you appreciate old world charm and you are adaptable, it’s a gem. Best part about the house was the large stone deck on the third floor that offers an amazing expansive view of the Bay of Naples and sunsets! The biggest challenge we faced was motivating ourselves to leave the deck to go down to the kitchen on the first floor (there is a small kitchen on the third floor where we kept our alcohol but with 5 kids we were constantly missing something). Second, the location is great if you don’t want to be buried in tourist hell. You can get to the Piano di Sorrento stop on the Circumvesuviana, and it’s a 10 minute walk to the villa (we did it with luggage). Then you can access various places from that train station including Pompeii, Sorrento, etc. So, you don’t need a car, and there isn’t anywhere to park it on the property (though there is a public lot very close by). Third, there are a few local beaches that are a 10-15 minute walk down the hill or you can take the elevator but they charge 1 euro per person and there can be lines to get down or up. So we just walked down a switchback with amazing views. The beach is quaint and there is food and drinks! It costs 5 euro per chair and umbrella, very reasonable if you compare it to Positano ($20 per person to get on most beaches). Last but certainly not least, Emma and Rosa are fantastic. Rosa is very sweet, and we had her cook for us twice and it was great. The night before our departure we learned that the circumvesuviana was going on strike (we were planning to take this to Naples so we could continue on to Siena). Both Emma and Rosa were kind enough to come to the house and help us locate a driver to get us to Naples on time and at a great price too. Overall, the experience couldn’t have been much better. This is an authentic Italy experience that represents a far preferable alternative (for us) to the hustle and bustle of Sorrento and especially Positano. Stay here, save money, and visit those places on a day trip or for dinner. Just make sure you get home for those sunset views!

GREAT WAY TO STAY IN SORRENTO AND HAVE ACCESS TO THE COSTIERA AMALFITANA

  • 5 of 5

The house was plenty big for all 6 of us and only a few minutes away from the main center by car. It's quite nice to take the elevator down to the water front, have dinner or a gelato and just enjoy the beauty. The location was perfect for us. We enjoyed the gardens.

Emma, the house manager took very good care of us, cooked an amazing dinner, and even sent us off in her usual warm manner. I highly recommend it. It was a great way to accommodate all of us and get the feel of living like an Italian!

This place is beautiful!

  • 5 of 5

Villa Jenny is gorgeous, a ton of space on a beautiful piece of property. A little off the beaten path if you want to be in Sorrento but within walking distance to beach and everything in Piano Sorrento. Francesco is very accommodating for driving anywhere you want to go and can take you himself on a driving tour of the Amalfi coast and Pompei. He also has great recommendations for restaurants and quick places to grab a bite. Also make sure to ask Rosa to make you a traditional Italian meal. She’s a wonderful cook. Only down side to our stay was that we were traveling in April and the villa is not heated, so we made good use of heaters and blankets. I think it would have been amazing to stay here in the summer with all the windows open and the breeze coming in off the sea.

Owner's Response: Dear Melani, thanks a lot for your very kind review. I'm sorry for weather conditions, but, as you know, we actually had an extraordinary late beginning of the springtime, this year. We had a little snow two days before your arrival; an event that happens every 20/30 years, and only during the winter. It never happens by the end of march! Our villa offer every year the best conditions from end of march to beginning of november; that is our rental season. I could not foreseen such an extraordinary event by the time you booked the villa last year. Still, I appreciate your words and I'm glad that you spent a nice time at Villa Jenny. Rosa and Francesco, also, wish to thank you for your kind words. From my side, all the best and see you soon, for a very hot and sunny week in Sorrento. Vito

I just returned with 3 friends from a 12 day Italian adventure. We hit Rome, Florence, and finished our trip at Villa Jenny and it was absolutely perfect!

The villa is incredible...beautiful, historic, very clean and the views are breathtaking. I already miss mornings on the terrace and walking through the garden. We hired Francesco as our driver for our entire stay at Villa Jenny and that was one of the best decisions we made. He was very knowledgeable about the area around Villa Jenny, Amalfi Coast, Naples and much more! He was not only a driver, but a fantastic tour guide who took us to places that we never would have found without him. If you are staying at Villa Jenny, do not think twice about booking Francesco! We also had Rossa come over to cook dinner for us. Everything was fresh and delicious and she taught us how to make gnocchi which was a lot of fun and the best gnocchi I've ever had. I highly recommend having Rossa cook a few meals. Her cooking is much different than what you will find in the restaurants and something that everyone should experience. We had her come our last night at Villa Jenny and wish we would have had her there another night but just didn't have enough time. Emma, the house manager is great as well and very helpful. With Francesco, Rossa, Emma, and the beautiful Villa Jenny, Sorrento was the best part of our trip. Thank you Vito for all of your suggestions and a beautiful villa - everything was PERFECT!
