Spacious, architecturally stunning home set on a hill naturally landscaped with native desert plants overlooking the Sea of Cortez. Amenities include an 8-person hot tub, infinity lap pool with in-water seating (unheated), dramatic fire pit on huge terrace, large great room with 42' flat-panel TV, 2 well-furnished kitchens, detached master suite, two bedrooms in the main house plus a separate fully equipped casita.

This 3,100 sq foot home exudes warmth and comfort. The striking architectural details include a 20-foot high brick barrel ceiling, natural stone, and panoramic views both day and night from the custom 30-ft retractable glass patio door which allows the living area to be blended with the beautiful outdoors. The views encompass the Bay of La Paz, the Magote peninsula, the city lights and the mountains beyond. To the back of the home is a desert paradise, where you can hike, explore by foot or ATV and bird watch to your heart’s content.

This home is located on a hill-top in El Centenario, one of the few areas in La Paz and Southern Baja where guests can enjoy views of the downtown city lights. Enjoy panoramic views from the living room, outdoor decks, 8-person hot tub, and infinity pool. A peaceful get-away, a perfect tranquil sanctuary for extended family and friends, while enjoying convenient access to outdoor and ocean activities and city life centered around La Paz. 12-minute drive to beautiful, pristine secluded beaches on the Sea of Cortez. Private luxurious master bedroom (separate from the main house) with its own jacuzzi tub. Property includes an additional private casita which includes one of the 4 bedrooms, a second fully-equipped kitchen, bath, living area and a separate patio with panoramic views.

Other services are available at a reasonable fee: daily maid service, cook/housekeeper, massage therapy, salon services, private yoga classes and more.

This is our future retirement home and we put a lot of care and thought into the architectural design, selection of amenities, and furnishings.

Two families too fun.

Casa Arco Iris is beautiful and well appointed. The common room and outdoor spaces are fantastic with views to infinity in a quiet suburb of La Paz. Bev and Rick, the hosts, are the best. They turned several unexpected travel snafus into minor hiccups. Their willingness to help promptly (even on Christmas Eve and Christmas day) and recommendations for things to do were above and beyond.

I would happily come back to Arco Iris

Being in Centenario was quite nice, specifically because La Paz can be a bit much. It was quiet and we all enjoyed spending lots of time in the pool. The photos on VRBO do not do this place justice. It is quite large and we easily could have fit more people comfortably. The hangout space near the pool gets a nice breeze and later in the afternoon there is a fair amount of shade. It would be easy to do a lot of cooking given all the supplies and there's a nice grill to use as well. If the weather was a bit cooler, it would have been great to open up all the sliding glass doors to the yard. Unfortunately we weren't able to take advantage during our time, but the doors were easy to work with. I'd definitely come back, though it could use more lizards.

Perfect getaway home

We really enjoyed our stay and hope to go back back soon. The house is beautiful with a pool and jacuzzi! I would recommend to rent a car or have some sort of driver that knows the area. The only thing I would mention that the other people in the group did not appreciate someone coming to the house unannounced (they had repaired a chair and were bringing it back) Or that the detached bedroom kept getting crawlers inside. Other than that would recommend!

Returning to Paradise

We love this area and will return again - especially to this house. This was out first time renting this spacious home. It worked well for our large group of family and friends and provided more than ample space to spread out for quiet time and space to come together for meals and pool/outdoor time. Overall, the house was in good condition (we understand that it is a rental and that the weather can wreak havoc). Some of the kitchen utensils and plastic "glassware" could be replaced, however. A few things need some TLC - the patio door on the Casita looks like it may become detached from the concrete wall. Despite the few things that could use some TLC, the house was perfect for us. Bev and Rick were just fantastic to deal with from beginning to end and connected us with Jorge, a private chef, who came to the house to provide an amazing meal for our group (not expensive). Later in the week, our group returned to his restaurant for a dinner out (5 minutes away). The location... while it is bit of a journey from Cabo (where we flew into), it is worth the drive. Walmart is great for groceries and other necessities (15 minutes ish) and the pool made us feel like we didn't have to leave the house everyday to enjoy "the water". Mind you, the drive to Tecolote or Balandra (beautiful beaches and swimming) is always an option and also worth the drive (45 min ish). Thank you Bev and Rick for the amazing communication and always being available for us.

Ensconced along the largest bay on Baja’s Sea of Cortez coast, La Paz is noted for a beautiful Malecon (waterfront walkway) backed by palm trees, pastel-colored buildings, spectacular sea-side sunsets, easy-going pace and it’s proximity to uncrowded beaches and pristine islands. La Paz has the perfect blend of a beautiful historic city set against a tranquil desert and a pristine, turquoise ocean abundant with marine life. We think La Paz offers a great blend of an old-world city with friendly people yet also provides all the amenities of a large city without the big city feel. Beware! Legend has it that once a traveler visits La Paz, he leaves a piece of his heart there, and is always drawn feeling complete again when returning to this wonderful place.

People who have stayed at our property consistently tell us that once they arrive they are content to just relax in our inviting great room, cook up a scrumptious meal in our fully-equipped kitchen, and enjoy their family and friends in a luxurious getaway from it all. You can pamper yourself in the large, private infinity pool overlooking the ocean; enjoy a margarita as you recline on the sunken bar stools. Both the pool and the 8-person hot tub provide the perfect backdrop to view the stunning sunsets and watch as the La Paz cities lights blink on. La Paz is only 15 minutes away and offers a wide range of restaurants from Italian, to high-end Mexican fusion, to delicious tacos and wonderful seafood cocktails. Previous guests have let us know that fishing in the Sea of Cortez, whale watching, kayaking, wind-surfing, snorkeling and wandering along pristine beaches are some of the favored activities.
