Here is what the owners that are British say about the house and the location :
Omis is an ancient market town sat against the majestic Mosor Mountains and where the River Cetina meets the clear water of the Adriatic Sea. It is an ideal base for exploring the Cetina Gorge where hiking, mountaineering and rafting on the river are popular adventures. The towns well preserved 16th century fortress affords spectacular views from its hilltop vantage. The town's main claim to fame is as the center of Dalmatias' pirate history and folk music (Klapa). The main beach is long and sandy with shallow waters, but there are also stone beaches with natural shade. The town is full of excellent restaurants, serving great food, delicious fish, to the best steaks ever, and mouthwatering pizzas.
We are a British couple from a beautiful part of Northern England. We fell in love with Croatia 9 years ago and wanted to have a home there in the mountains. We eventually found the right house, in the mountains yet over looking the Adriatic and the beautiful island of Brac. It is in a unique location, down a small lane of only a few houses, in a very natural environment of fir trees and wild flowers, the air is so pure you relax immediately . Although located in the mountain, you are still very close to Omis (6km) and also the Cetina River (7km) and only 19km to the City of Split, were the old part of the city is a palace of the Roman Emperor Diocletian and is Unesco protected - must see location.
We have spent many years renovating the house, inside it is furnished with a mixture of family furniture and beautiful fabrics, that we hope complement the traditional Croatian house. It has a courtyard with a BBQ, the area is filled with plants and flowers, a great place to enjoy a glass of wine and relax in the evening. The pool hangs on the edge of the mountain with the best views ever.
Although the house is a great place to relax, it is also child friendly, it has two sitting rooms each with a TV and plenty of space to play. We have six grandchildren who just love their time there.
We hope you enjoy the house and will fall in love with Croatia just as we did.
Hi, my name is Mirjana Mrčela and I am a property manager who loves to show how kind Croatian people are as hosts, and how nice is to help our dear guest to make their holidays the best ever with providing all needed information and always available for help or advice.
This property is a place that the owners Jenny and Tony who come from UK bought for living and who have recognized the beauty and unspoiled nature with beautiful views and pure, mountain air and find your perfect place to enjoy with your family.
The house is equipped with the furniture that the owner brought from UK, so it is unique family furniture with a lot of fabric details that the owners decorated and that all gives you a warm family feeling like home.
We arrived at the villa on the 11th after picking up our car from the airport, we were greeted by Mirjana who made us both feel very welcome, there was some cheese and ham in the fridge along with coffee and milk for the following morning. Mirjana has a wealth of knowledge for the local area and went through the Villa and map ensuring we understood. The villa was spotless inside with all mod cons and being a fan of cooking there was plenty of cooking equipment something that had been lacked in some of the other villas we have stayed in. The view outside over looking the hills in Omis is stunning, for the size of the villa we felt the pool could have been a bit bigger and is a bit misleading from the photos taken online. It was more than big enough for us as there was only two of us but if the villa was full the pool would have been cramped this by no means is a negative the pool was very clean and refreshing on the hot afternoons we used it. Access to the villa pulling in is fine but pulling out, they really need a curved mirror on the rocks on the other side of the road so you can see if there is any traffic coming again a minor thing but worth mentioning. Hot water was instant anytime of the day and the villa has fully working air-con through-out bar the minor things mentioned if we returned to Omis which I'm sure we will I would return to this stunning villa. I would like to thank both Mirjana and Nicolina for making us so welcome and ensured we enjoyed our stay.

The Captains's house is not only a dream house in the middle of wonderful nature with a fantastic pool, but it is moreover furnished with passion for details.
We went there in autumn and had some cold nights, but it was no problem at all, because the house is equipped with a fireplace and electric heating.
Some lovely details in every room make a warm pleasant atmosphere. We started to smile when we entered the house for the first time and stopped smiling when we had to leave at the end of a wonderful week. The beds are very comfortable and we could even see the ocean from the two upper floor bedrooms.
We furthermore enjoyed the bakery and small marked that are very nearby in Tulgare and the environment around the river Cetina. You should hike to the Starigrad-Fortica near Omis! The fantastic view is worth it.
Thank you very much for the local fruits, delicious cookies, wine, ham, cheese and bread on our arrival. We had a wonderful time and definitively want to come back!
The Captains House offers the best of both worlds - a perfect balance between tranquility and activity. The villa itself is beautifully appointed, offering plenty of space for socialising and eating, and plenty of quiet spots to read a book and unwind (my favourite being the upstairs balcony overlooking the pool as the sunsets). Its location sitting high on a Mountain side over looking Omis
ensures peace and tranquility, but with the option of heading out to great restaurants and a variety of activities suitable for all. We went white water rafting down the Cetina this time, but I'd love to try the Zip Wire. If you're into canoeing or rock climbing this is certainly a great location for you. We were so well looked after by Nicolina, who as well as providing home made cake on arrival, made sure we had fresh bread, milk, cheese and ham and even a bottle of wine - which was great given the flight delay! Truly a fantastic property for a family or a group of friends! Thanks so much
We stayed at the villa for one week.
The house is very well situated and has everything you need for a wonderfull holiday. We rented al lot of holiday houses yet but this one had really everything you need ( to relax, to cook,...) and is very clean.
When we arrived at the house we got a very warm welcome from Nicolina. Her hospitality diserves a 6/5!!
When we return to the Split- region one day we certainly go back to the Captain's house!!
Once again we want to thank Mirjana, Nicolina and the owners to share 'their' house with us!
Greetings from Belgium.
Danke
