Photos and Description of this 1 bedroom holiday cabin in Penrose - The Cow Shed

Cabin between Porthcothan and Mawgan Porth

The cabin is perfect for exploring the whole of Cornwall but is also perfect for a relaxing comfortable stay ' your second home' it is accessed through a private garden and has it's own very secluded patio area away from the world to relax and sunbathe at your own pace. Internally it has the most comfortable bed in a generous bedroom with an amazing en-suite. The living space has a really comfortable sofa which turns into a very ample sofa bed. And a fully equipped kitchen for you to even bake a cake in if you so wish. Two televisions and WI-FI will keep you digitally entertained with a DVD player and a good selection of DVD's to choose from for quiet evenings in. Our winter guests will enjoy the warmth of a fully controllable central heating. The double doors from the lounge open up onto the private patio area for outside sun worshipping and barbecuing at your leisure.

About Lainie Kelsey

We have lived in Cornwall for 4 years now and would not want to live anywhere else. My family all love it here. My son goes to the local school and joins in all the out door activities like surf school. We also have Grandma living with us, which comes in very handy.

Why Lainie Kelsey chose North Cornwall

The location is very quiet and peaceful it is a truly unique secluded bolt hole in one of Cornwall's amazing "areas of outstanding natural beauty". The cabin is very close to Porthcothan Beach and one of the "seven bays for seven days", with their sheer sand dunes, caves, rock pools and mussels at low tide. We are also close to "The coastal path which sports wonderful cliff walks to Padstow and Porth taking in the stunning views across the North Cornish " Poldark Country". We would recommend arriving with your own transport to take advantage of the many surrounding attractions this beautiful area has to offer including the excellent restaurants and the renowned restaurants close by such as Jamie Oliver, Rick Stein and many others which we list in our information pack.

What makes this cabin unique

The Cabin is an excellent way to just unwind and relax, it is even so quite it can be very useful if writing a novel or studying.

We stayed here for our honeymoon and enjoyed every minute.

We looked at a few places in Cornwall but decided to stay here here as we loved the way it was decorated and its great location near the ocean.

What impressed us most was the amount of thought and attention to detail that has gone into the place. There is a well equipped kitchen where everything we needed we found, all local information was provided (supermarkets, restaurants etc), an amazing comfy bed and a fantastic power shower!

Lainie was the perfect host and made us feel very welcome, the lemon drizzle cake, bread, milk, eggs and butter were very much appreciated.

If we return to Cornwall this is where we would stay.

Relaxing break in North Cornwall.

  • 5 of 5

We had a very comfortable stay in The Cow Shed. Set in secluded countryside it's only a short drive to many beautiful beaches and a great base to explore Cornwall. The decking area is a completely private sun trap, where we enjoyed a glass of wine or two. Lainie was a friendly host who was very accommodating and helpful making sure we had everything we needed for our stay with our 10 month old.

Charming retreat

  • 5 of 5

From the moment we arrived we felt very welcomed by Lainie who took the time to show us around the cabin. It was perfect.

The owners live next door & were around to help if needed but we also had complete privacy during our stay.

Absolutely Fabulous!

Lainie was very friendly she was there to ensure we got shown round when we arrived, there was lovely wild flowers on the table and a lemon drizzle cake which was delicious and both nice touches.

The cabin was great inside very cosy and relaxing & had everything to meet our needs and more the bed was very comfortable and everything was spotless clean.

I have to compliment Lainie on the decor & all the feminine touches she has put in to the cabin we thought it was truly devine and would highly recommend a stay the setting was gorjuss & idyllic too.

Really great property with all the amenities you need. We were given a lovely welcome by the owners with homemade lemon drizzle cake and bread as well as eggs and milk.

The location is stunning and so peaceful for a relaxing holiday. Close to the beaches and overall area of north Cornwall.

Would definitely return.

Lovely little getaway

  • 5 of 5

We really enjoyed our stay in this charming cabin, Lainie has covered everything to make your stay memorable. The little details such as home made cake and flowers on arrival was a delightful touch. A very well thought out use of cabin space and top notch furnishings and bedding ; everything is here for a totally self catering experience, but still near enough to very good restaurants and amenities if you so wish. We would definitely recommend this little gem.
