Please note Bobby's Nook is not a studio: there is a separate kitchen with snack area, living room with dining area, bedroom and ensuite (fully tiled shower room) providing a relaxing escape for two or a peaceful retreat for one. This is a sweet and unique, self contained, well-equipped, ground floor apartment for the more discerning self caterer. Fantastic views and sunsets. Free WiFi and welcome pack. Safe onsite parking. Double bedroom with fully tiled ensuite with lovely spacious walk in "rainfall" shower. Delicious hot drinks machine. Independent but has The AA 4 Stars award. Gardens with table, chairs, bench, loungers and BBQ. Central Cotswolds location and on the Cotswold Way. Last Minute 2 night breaks available. Friendly, thoughtful owners who are very pleased to help where appropriate but at all times respect your privacy.

Why The Owner chose Stroud

We moved to this area because of the wonderful view westwards across the Severn Vale to the Forest of Dean and the Welsh mountains in the distance. The location is very peaceful and relaxing whilst being very close to everything you could possibly wish to visit in the Cotswolds and beyond! The location is central; close to the M5 motorway and other major road networks and has easy access to Bath, Bristol, Cardiff, Gloucester, Cheltenham, Oxford, Stratford etc as well as to many local attractions such as Berkeley Castle, Painswick Rococo Garden, lots of pretty Cotswold villages and towns and many National Trust properties. The apartment is also a short hop, skip and jump to the Cotswold Way Selsley Circuit. This is a 5 five mile round walk of wonderful variety and interest, taken straight from the front door. From the magnificent views from the Common down into the valley and alongside the newly restored canal with buildings and relics from its industrial heritage of a bygone era. Also, something to note, is the availability of a wide range of great restaurants, pubs and a highly acclaimed weekly Farmers' Market close by.

What makes this apartment unique

Walk to the top of Selsley Common (5 minutes) and the view increases to include the Malverns and beyond. On the east side, Bobby's Nook overlooks a field where there are often cows grazing and if you are lucky you may catch sight of a fox, deer or badger! The property itself is specifically designed for couples or solo travellers, is superbly equipped and has a very peaceful, relaxing atmosphere. Bobby's Nook is unusual in that it is designed for maximum 2 adults but is not a studio and has no height restricted areas.

  • The fully tiled, en suite wet room provides a spacious walk in "rainfall" shower that many of our guests say you won't want to get out of! There is an illuminated over basin mirror with shaver point and a heated towel rail. Toilet paper and hand wash are provided but you should bring your own shampoo, shower gel etc. All towels and bathmat are included in cost of the rental.

  • The peaceful bedroom at the rear of Bobby's Nook has a rural outlook across fields that are often grazed by cows and sheep. The occasional fox or deer can also be seen. There is a double bed with orthopaedic mattress. The window is fitted with a blackout blind. The bedside cabinets have touch sensitive lamps and an alarm/radio/clock/iPhone dock. There is ample storage available, including drawers and hanging space. A hairdryer and full length floor mirror are also to be found in the bedroom. All bed linen is included in the cost of the rental.

Bobby's Nook is ideal accommodation for touring, walkers and business travellers. The property is adjacent to the Cotswold Way and is also within easy reach of road networks, including the M5 motorway. There are lovely views from the front and back of the property. The kitchen and bedroom overlook fields where there are often cows or sheep and the occasional foxes and deer. The superb view from the lounge sofa is towards the River Severn and Forest of Dean in the distance and is loved by many of our guests. Watch an ever changing scene year round and beautiful summer sunsets!

We loved it here.Everything you could think of, a coffee machine,washing machine,dishwasher,rainfall shower, comfy bed.What more could you want?Perfectly situated for walking and for visiting nearby attractions.Highly recommend,we will be back!

Beyond Expectations - A Lovely Surprse

We were two seniors on a wild and crazy adventure. At least according to family and friends. All planned in front of our computer to places we had not been. To be met by our lovely hosts at the front door of Bobby's Nook, Gill and Mike. Gill was helpful to go over a few instructions, but encouraged us to call out if needed. Kitchen was thoughtfully stocked with basics and beyond so no mad dash needed for food following long journey from States. We were depending upon public transportation. So while we were in a semi rural area convenient bus stops were within two football fields (200 yards). We traveled to both ends of line; Stroud and Gloucester. We give hosts, accommodations, and location highest marks. Special thanks to the girls for fresh eggs! Great memories.

Fabulous owner Gill provided us with lots of information about the area & accommodation which was very clean & comfortable. Gill also kindly provided us with a refreshment tray on arrival & fresh eggs from her own Hens. A thoroughly enjoyable holiday shame about some of the rain though.

Perfect for Couple's weekend away!

We stayed at Bobby's Nook for Easter Bank Holiday weekend which was very reasonably priced considering. On arrival, we were greeted by the very friendly Gill & Mike who made us feel comfortable.

The property is modern (lovely shower!) and well equipped, perfect for a couple. We were surprised that its actually bigger than the pictures do justice. Location wise it was very peaceful, ideal for relaxing, walks and visiting nearby towns/cities.

Would definitely stay again when visiting Cotswolds!

Bobby's Nook is situated alongside the Cotswold Way and is a very popular place for walkers to stay. Views, even from the comfort of the sofa, are fantastic with frequently beautiful sunsets in summer. This is a peaceful and very central place to stay for all attractions in the Cotswolds and beyond, with close proximity to the M5 motorway. There is a convenient hourly bus service, used by many of our guests with and without their own transport, to Stroud in one direction and Stonehouse, on to Gloucester in the other.
