Excellent Holiday Home

  • 5 of 5

The house is spacious, bright and spotlessly clean with all 'mod cons' and is an ideal holiday home for a large group (there were 9 of us - 4 adults and 5 children). We all enjoyed the freedom of the place with its big lawn in front and the secluded peaceful garden in the back. Rumour has it that this part of the Kingdom of Kerry was the last place on earth that God made but the first place that He blessed. He had a lot of material left over so He used it to create the beautiful mountains that one can see all around the local countryside. From Castlequin house you can see one of these mountains - ''a thing of beauty =, a joy forever''.

Valerie, the owner, was very welcoming and helpful and is a very, very nice lady. I cannot be loud enough in my praise of the place and would recommend this holiday home to all and sundry. Thanks for letting us stay there. Dan

Beautiful, well appointed home within walking distance to a castle and stone forts

This home accommodated our family of 8. Valerie was a great host who made sure we knew how to use the appliances in the home and where we should spend our time exploring the region.

Wonderful family holiday

  • 5 of 5

The property was clean, spacious (we were 8) and we had everything we needed. The hosts were very helpful and friendly when we arrived and throughout our stay.

It was located a short drive out of town, and very close to beaches, forts, and other attractions.

The hosts told us about plenty of things to do and we particularly enjoyed the boat with wheels trip!

Would highly recommend for families/groups as plenty of space.

Explore the Ring of Kerry

  • 5 of 5

My husband and I and our three teenage boys stayed here a week in June 2017. It is a lovely, spacious modern home and was immaculately clean. With 5 bedrooms and a large eat-in kitchen, we had plenty of room to spread out. It is located just outside Caherciveen on a quiet road with pretty views. Within a mile or so are the ruins of Ballycarbery Castle and two stone ring forts. There are two beaches just a few miles further down the road. The Caherciveen area is ideal for exploring the Ring of Kerry. We especially enjoyed Derrynane National Park, Valentia Island and Kells Bay Gardens. If you book ahead, a trip to Skellig Michael is an adventure. The owner Valerie O'Connell is very friendly and helpful. She went out of her way to make us feel at home. We highly recommend this home and hope to return soon ourselves!
