Apartment Magnolia (60 sqm) is on the ground floor with access directly from the garden. There is a living room with kitchen fully equipped, double bedded room (extra bed is available), bathroom with shower. The kitchen has an electric oven, but no dishwasher or washing machine; there is a self service laundry near the apartment. Sleeps : 2+1 Parking space is guaranteed and the wi-fi ADSL internet connection is always-on and completely free. Casa Zia Beppina is located in the San Concordio area of Lucca, which has recently become one of the most important areas of the city with the expansion outwards from the walled centre. The San Concordio area is the best place from which to enjoy a stay in Lucca because the walled centre (only 500 metres away) and the train station are both easily accessible by foot or bicycle. There is also a bus stop close by (less than 5 mins) from where you can catch a bus to Florence, Pisa (including the airport) and Viareggio (Versilia beaches). The location is great and very quiet, you are close to the walls, but in a great area with shopping and restaurants. The apartment is located just a couple of minutes walk from an excellent supermarket open till 9 p.m., laundrette and restaurant as well as banks, shops, bars and pizzerias. Lucca is now largely a pedestrianised zone, which makes exploring this lovely old city all the more enjoyable. With your vacation rental just a short walk outside the walls, you’ll never need to use your car to get into town. It is now almost impossible for anyone except residents to drive a car into the city centre, and it is one reason why the San Concordio area has lately become so sought after ... it’s so convenient. The owners, Aldo and Cinzia, speak good English and will be more than happy to help you out with anything that will make your stay in Lucca more enjoyable.

Home from Home - I wish!
This was our second stay this year in this apartment and we loved it again. It is cosy and comfortable. There are mosquitoes, but we find with a bit of repellent, it's no problem and it would not deter us from returning. (I'm already looking at December, April and June!) The area is so quiet and just around the corner are all the provision, independently run, shops you could ever want to eat Italian style. Just a pleasant walk to the walls of Lucca and the best Gelateria close by - La Piccolo Bonta, I think its' called. It has wonderful gateau as well. So special for us Brits to be able to go out at 10.00 at night for ice cream on a warm evening!!!
Perfect apartment for visiting Lucca
The exterior pictures of this apartment, with the colorful flowerpots and the garden area in back, is what attracted it to me and it did not disappoint. It is exactly as pictured on a quiet street just a short walk from the walled city of Lucca. We loved being close to the city, but far enough away to be able to relax outside on the patio. The interior was perfect and had everything we needed for our two week stay. I was a little concerned at first that there was no air conditioning, but it was not an issue and the apartment was comfortable during our stay. As noted in other reviews, there are mosquitos while outside, so bring your bug spray. We have the same problem in central U.S., so it was nothing new to us. Also, the bed was a little too firm for our liking, but I know this is a personal preference and we were able to adjust to it during our stay. Aldo is a great host who was quick to answer questions when we had them, but gave us privacy the remainder of the time. We loved this little apartment that served as a home base for our cycling trip in Tuscany. We could live here!
One of the Best
We loved it and could happily move in and stay forever, but sadly we all have to come home!
The location is perfect with a flat walk to the walls and many temptations on the way, such as bakeries, patisseries and excellent gelaterias with the BEST ice cream, and 2 good supermarkets as well as the smaller food shops. You will never go hungry around here.
The apartment is very nicely fitted with everything needed for a holiday; it is spacious and cool, with a great selection of English books for holiday reading as well as local maps.
Thank you Aldo and family; we look forward to our return in September.
All the comforts of home
This apartment was a wonderful place for us to use as a “home base” for exploring Tuscany. The apartment was very comfortable and had all of the amenities we needed. The large shower was especially nice! Aldo was very helpful with information and assistance, but never hovered....he was there when we needed him. We had one issue with the WiFi connection which he quickly fixed, as well as offered us an alternative in case of future problems. The apartment is very close to cafes, 2 grocery stores, and a laundromat (NOTE: The laundromat does not show up on a GPS search; be sure to ask Aldo for directions - it is 2 blocks away). The apartment is within walking distance to the train station for easy travels throughout the area (our day trip to Pisa was a highlight). Luca itself has a lot to explore and photograph. The week we spent here was terrific!
A great base for exploring Lucca
We spent four days in Aldo’s apartment ... it was a perfect start for our travels in Italy!! Aldo gave us clear instructions for bus travel from the Pisa airport and he made our check in very easy!! He quickly responded and helped us when we were having wifi problems! We loved being close to local shops but outside of the crowds inside the old walled city. The kitchen was well equipped and screens on the windows were a real bonus.
The apartment is less than ten minutes (walking) from the walled city...we loved to walk on the wall pathways and wander in town but we were always happy to escape back to the apartment!!
Very convenient, comfortable, spacious, quiet, and tasteful!
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The location of the apartment is superb, walking distance to the old city of Lucca. Great parking allowing for easy day trips. The train station is in walking distance so perfect for day trips to Florence. Highly recommend!
Most of all, this holiday apartment in Lucca give you easy access to one of Tuscany's most charming, historic yet unspoiled cities. Less bustling than Florence or Pisa, Lucca sits snug within its massive medieval walls, the town within a maze of ancient streets, Renaissance churches, grand palazzi, good shops and excellent restaurants. An enjoyable day can be spent waling the 4 km circuit of the walls ... so deep are they that they are topped by parks and gardens, and are very popular with joggers, cyclists and sightseers. And when you descend to the town within, you'll find pedestrians and cyclists again take precedence over the motor car - this is a lovely town to stroll, enjoy and relax. Watching over Lucca from above, from one of the towers, one can enjoy an enchanting panorama over the red roofs, with lots of green and the summits of the Apuan Alps in the background. As Lucca is well connected through the rail network it is possible to visit other Tuscan towns without car. Pisa, Viareggio (and the Versilia coast), Montecatini and Pistoia can be quickly reached. Within approximately 45 minutes it is possible to reach Florence.
