Luxury one bedroom apartment with splendid views

The Village Marina Complex is located in Olhão (15 minutes east of Faro) and facing the ocean, offering magnificent views of the Ria Formosa Nature Reserve with one of Portugal’s most unique collection of islands.

Our new luxury apartment is located on the 3rd floor (2 elevators) and offers a beautiful view over the lagoon with flamingos towards Faro and the mountains. On the roof of the building a swimming pool with sun terrace, shower and toilet for the residents of the hall.

Of course it is fully equipped. All rooms have air conditioning with remote control (also used for heating) and electric blinds. In the kitchen: a refrigerator, freezer, microwave, oven, dishwasher, washer / dryer, a coffeemaker, toaster, steam iron, etc. There is a central vacuum system.

Moreover, WiFi, satellite TV , IP TV, DVD player with DVD's, books and all basic needs such as toiletries, coffee/tea/sugar/spices, etc.

The main entrance has secure video entry and there are high security locks on the internal apartment door.

Olhão, a lively fishing port, still retains its original character with a strong Moorish influence. It's the place to be for people who love the real Portugal, with its history and culture, beautiful islands and beaches, nature and interesting hinterland. The 1.3 km long boulevard in Olhão is one of the finest in the Algarve with green parks and playgrounds. Striking are the famous red market halls with daily (except Sunday) fresh fish, vegetables and fruits. On Saturday there is a local product / gypsy market. There are many excellent cafes / coffee shops, shops, bars and restaurants. The choice of restaurants is great, but the very fresh fish, clams, squid, crabs and shrimp are excellent.The islands with its beautiful beaches and the nature, combined with the marina and lively boulevard with an abundance of shops, pubs, bars, excellent restaurants and the local market halls, as well as the 5 star Real Marina Hotel & Spa next door make this a perfect holiday destination.

About Sophie

We are a Dutch couple living in the Algarve since July 2000. After years of traveling all over the world due to work, we bought in 1998 an old farm in Quelfes, about 10 minutes from Olhão. We really do enjoy living in Portugal: lovely people, beautiful nature and perfect climate.

The location of Village Marina is perfect: beautiful views, as well as to the ocean as to Faro and the hinterland mountains and in walking distance of all amenities.

What makes this apartment unique

No car needed. Shops, restaurants, bars etc. and public transport in walking distance.

There are even daily bus services to Seville, Spain.

first class apartment, very helpful owners

The apartment was first class. Sophie and Wim the owners were most helpful. This fantastic apartment has all you need for a great holiday. The little extras left in the apartment by Sophie and Wim make it special. First class finishing inside and a balcony with a fantastic view. The apartment is within a short stroll to Olhao. There are loads of good restaurants and other places to eat. Olhao was a big surprise. The people were very friendly. The apartment is also close to 2 supermarkets which was handy. My wife and I are already planning our trip next year. If not at this apartment one of Sophie and Wim's other apartments.

Gut gepflegte Ferienwohnung

Die Ferienwohnung von Sopha und Wim war die am besten ausgerüstete, die wir je hatten. Von elektrischer Orangenpresse, Kaffeemaschine über Duschgel, Zahnpaste und Senf und Mayo und vieles mehr war alles vorhanden was man im Alltag so braucht. Auch eine Flasche Wein zum Empfang. Die Eigentümer haben sich Zeit genommen uns in die Wohnung einzuweisen und über die Gegend Auskunft zu geben. Die Wohnung ist geschmackvoll eingerichtet, geräumig und sauber. Die Sicht vom Balkon ist einmalig. Man kann bis zu vierzig Flamingos beobachten und Störche und andere Wasservögel. Olhao hat zwei grosse Markthallen, eine für Fische, die änder für Früchte, Gemüse, Käse und Schinken. Selbstversorgung mit frischen Produkten sowie essen im Restaurant ist qualitativ hochstehend und günstig. Der Bootsausflug mit "nature algarve" ist sehr zu empfehlen. Man erfährt viel über das sensible Ökoreservat und über die Inseln und es is auch landschaftlich sehr schön. Wir werden diese FeWo weiterempfehlen.

Perfect vacation getaway spot

Absolutely perfect condo with fantastic view and totally equipped with everything that you need. The hosts have also provided you with all kinds of information on the area. The apartment is beautifully decorated, clean , within walking distance of great restaurants and local market. Very easy to use this as your base while exploring the Algarve. We would come back anytime and highly recommend.

FORMIDABLES VACANCES EN MAI 2017

Très agréable séjour ensoleillé à OLHÃO dans votre spacieux appartement bien situé à proximité du centre-ville et de tous commerces. Nous avons apprécié le petit déjeuner sur la grande terrasse avec vue sur les lagunes et les oiseaux. Vous aviez pensé à fournir toutes les commodités de base, merci pour toutes vos petites attentions et votre accueil chaleureux. OLHÃO est un lieux idéal pour les ornithologues. Olhão itself does not have a beach as it is located on the Ria Formosa lagoon system. There are 2 public ferries for the islands Farol/Culatra and Armona at the eastern end of the market halls. There are regular services throughout the year, although fewer in the winter. Moreover, there is a private ferry in front of the next door hotel during the holiday season.

The islands with its beautiful beaches and the nature, combined with the marina and lively boulevard with an abundance of shops, cafés, bars, excellent restaurants and the local market halls, as well as the 5 star Real Marina Hotel & Spa next door make this a perfect holiday destination.

No car needed. Train, regional and local buss at walking distance.

Also supermarkets, restaurants and bars at walking distance.

Every day, except Sunday, in the morning fish and vegetable/market in the local market halls on the boulevard.
