The town has two main beaches both suitable for swimming, the main beach has a children's play area on one side and on the other side of the beach volleyball courts.
One of the best features of the town is the walk-way that goes for miles along the sea front. Its completely flat and is popular in the morning with joggers. During the day it is used as access the the beach and has many bars and restaurants along and just off the path. It is also popular for an evening stroll.
A car is an excellent option as the island has much to offer ( Very cheap car hire available on request). The villa is a walk down a hill to the town but a taxi back up the hill may be needed, ( cost of taxi around 3 Euros). Taxis are easily available and can be picked up from the two ranks in center of town and also at the main shopping centre Atlantico, (there is also a large shopping centre in the capital of Puerto Del Rosario a short bus journey away) . Taxi's will also pick up from the villa when needed. There is also an excellent regular bus service if you want to visit other parts of the island. (they are very inexpensive).
The town of Caleta caters for all types of holidaymakers. There is an extensive variety of restaurants and bars, both quiet and more lively. If you like entertainment there are many excellent hotels that provide free nightly family entertainment as well as a number of entertainment bars. Those looking for something more authentic, there are a few Spanish bars with live music and tapas, the food is excellent here and very well priced. Later in the evening the night life tends to start a little later than the UK, usually after 12 when many families with younger children have headed home. (further information on things to do and good places to visit can be made available on request).

Property had everything one could want. It was like home from home. Views were fantastic. Just relaxed and recharged batteries. Would certainly recommend and return in future if holidaying in Caleta.
We stayed here for 10nights loved every minute,
Wonderful views very comfortable villa all mod cons very pleasant holiday will deffo go back.
We love coming to Caleta. We're a family of 4 (13 & 10 yo) stayed in other villas, some in the town. Whilst accommodation is good, owners on the complexes have appeared to be a bit unfriendly and look down on those who rent. This complex is very different , very quiet, pool nearly always empty and Stephen and his family have gone the extra mile with their house. Everything there, wifi, English tv,washing machine (this meant we travelled with just hand luggage, saves money and queues at airports). Don't worry about a car. Supermarket down the hill. Taxis arrive in 2 mins and cost around 3 euros to beach and town centre.
Anna & Steve look after the property and live on complex and are English always there to help. Can't recommend this enough for a quiet peaceful family break.
The Canary Islands region
With three thousand hours of sunshine a year, Fuerteventura is the closest Canary Island to the African coast with only 100km separating the 'Punta de la Entallada' from Cape Juby in Morroco and is the second largest (after Tenerife) of all the islands.
The weather conditions of Fuerteventura are very similar to Florida and Mexico which are on the same latitude, which make this the ideal holiday location.
There is nowhere else in the Canaries with as many enormous sand dunes and long sandy beaches (more than one hundred and fifty). Even though most of the land consists of stone and rock, these are some of the most impressive beaches in the whole of Europe. Approx 98km long and 30km across at the widest point.
In the history of time Fuerteventura is generally regarded as the oldest of all the Canaries and its strange contours come from various volcanic episodes. The last eruption occurred around 7,000 years ago so you're pretty safe. Should you wish to see some volcanic activity take a trip to the neighboring island of Lanzarote, it's well worth it. See our Ferry page for details on how to get there. You can also take a short boat trip over to the small island of Los Lobos (only 6sqkm) and really get away from it all.
Water sports are very popular in Fuerteventura. Every year hundreds of surfers, windsurfers and divers descend on Fuerteventura and during July the island is host to the P.W.A world windsurfing speed and slalom event at Sotavento in the south.
There are many new attractions inviting tourists to discover different aspects of the Island's landscape and culture such as the Betancuria Museum of Archaeology and Ethnography and Tefia Craft Village to name but a few.
Caleta De Fuste
Whether during the day you wish to enjoy the sunshine, playing golf ,jet skiing round the harbour, scuba diving, whale watching, ride a camel. ride a catamaran, or simply relax on the beaches or pool Caleta caters for many different holiday experiences,
There is plenty to do for children with traditional entertainment in many of the bars and hotels. There is a sandcastle building school and 2 sheltered beaches with volleyball and football.
In the evening there is an extensive choice of things to do, whether you prefer a quiet meal in the harbour or a more lively scene in the centre of town, where there is a choice of many Bars restaurants and a couple of Nightclubs.
