Overview

About the property

House, 3 bedrooms, 5 people

SEABARN located in Trevone near Padstow is a new Award Winning architect-designed oak framed property and situated in the seaside village of Trevone Bay, near Padstow on the North Cornwall coast.

The house is largely open to the roof revealing its arch-braced oak trusses and rafters and a staircase leads up to another 'lounge/snug' area which enjoys some seaviews across Trevone Bay and a perfect place to catch a spectacular sunset!

The property sleeps 5 in two double bedrooms (both with two double beds) and a third studio/bedroom 3 with one sofa-bed.

There is one en-suite and large family bathroom, a spacious kitchen with 'Lacanche' range cooker, huge dinning room area and open plan lounge etc..

There's ample parking for several cars and the gardens at the front and rear include various exotic plants and palm trees in keeping with its coastal location. A south-west facing granite cobbled courtyard is a favourite area to sit and eat -whilst catching the sun.

The house is located on the edge of the village along a quiet private (no-through) tarmac road and also enjoys a private access directly to a footpath with a five minute walk to the sea and Trevone's two spectacular beaches. The main beach has gently sloping golden sands with some little alcoves to sit in and sunbathe.

Whilst the second beach (known by locals as Rocky beach) has a 'natural' seawater swimming pool, surrounded by dozens of rockpools and gullies just waiting to be explored and a haven for wildlife where crabs and starfish, resident oyster-catchers, waders, cormorants and seals can usually be found.

The village has a thriving local population who love to make visitors feel part of their community and the local Well Parc Inn serves good food and fine ales every day of the year. There's also a beach cafe/restaurant, a farm shop supplying an extensive range of fresh, quality local products and a church. The village is an excellent location for visiting other attractions like the National Trust's Cornish flagship property - Lanhydrock Country House and gardens, Bodmin Moor and seven other sandy bays are all within 20 minutes drive as are two Championship golf courses.

The cliffs to the north east of the beach provide scenic coastal footpath walks and views to Hawkers Cove, the river Camel estuary and the popular harbour town of Padstow 1.5 miles away. Padstow itself is a fine example of a historic, working Cornish fishing port and is largely unspoilt, with its beautiful harbour and good shopping facilities, cafes and restaurants including world renowned Rick Stein's -Seafood Restaurant and establishments and many old and friendly public houses most serving excellent pub food and real ale. Around the harbour you can also find craft and gift shops, 'artists' studios, clothes shops, bookshops and much more including the very popular Camel Trail Cycle route which winds its way along the river Camel estuary to Wadebridge and then rises up gradually to the hills of Bodmin Moor.

Trevone Bay is set in an area of outstanding natural beauty and Cornwall's beaches are rated amongst the best in the UK and even the world.

The property also enjoys all mains services and amenities.

Guestbook comments from the manager

The house and gardens were beautifully presented, Chris and Sue had very kindly supplied us with a new cot, high chair and teddy bear as we have two young children. The house is located within a few minutes walk of the beach and the village had a cafe, local shops and pub. We had a very enjoyable and comfortable stay, Chris even posted us a pair of shoes we had accidentally left behind.

Fabulous family holiday

  • 5 of 5

Wow.

What a beautiful house, a beautiful beach and beautiful countryside.

We were 5 people (3 adults and 2 young kids). The house is every bit as bright and comfortable as it appears in the photos and the owners leave you with great welcome packs of food and local information, games, and more than enough kitchen parafan....paraphanal....stuff to keep you going.

The beach is a 5 minute walk away past the local pub. Of all the beaches we visited in the area, Trevone was the most beautiful, one of the largest and one of the least crowded. The pub was pretty bog standard food wise but had a pool table and a beer garden. The cafe down on the beach did one of the best fish and chips we had all week and you can also order pizzas and pasties etc. There is a shop near the house selling lots of local produce.

Nearby is Padstow which is crowded but obvs. has lots of stand out restaurants and shops. 2 miles away in the other direction is a Rick Stein pub that did a great half pint of prawns. We also had dinner in Jamie Oliver's Fifteen at Watergate Bay on our last night. Get a window seat at around 8.30pm and you get a fabulous sunset.

We also visited the Lost Gardens of Heligan which were beautiful and we all had a great day out at the nearby Camel Creek Adventure Park. Particularly good for toddlers, not for teenagers. Our 5 year old loved it.

I think we found a real gem in Trevone and I would definitely recommend staying in this house to anyone.
