Description

Photos and Description of this 2 bedroom holiday cottage in China - Little Loon Cottage

2 bdrms + loft, 1 bath, sleeps 6 (2 queen beds, 2 twin beds)

Little Loon Cottage is an adorable Maine camp with lots of charm built in 1930 right on the water’s edge. Home is tucked into the woods and is nicely situated on a semi-private half-acre lot with 80’ of waterfront and a dock. A nature-lovers paradise – listen to the loons & enjoy gorgeous views from the deck. Relax w/ a good book or family & friends & get away from it all! 1st fl has an updated kitchen, bath, dining rm, and living rm with timber-beam ceiling. 2nd fl has 2 bedrooms plus a loft (2 queen beds + 2 twin beds). Master bdrm has a ceiling fan and a large closet. The house has a cottage feel – very cute and tastefully decorated (Maine Cottage/shabby-chic). Seating for 6 for eating outdoors on the deck; there is also a small dining room for rainy days. Every room except the bathroom and loft sleeping area has views of the lake. There is a dock with a ladder & easy access to the water. Pillows, blankets and comforters are provided. Please bring your own sheets and towels.

Location: 15 min from Waterville, 30 min from Augusta, 1 hr from Portland and Bangor, 2 hrs from Portsmouth, 3 hrs from Boston. China Lake boasts a large nature preserve and reservoir as well as a large area of the lake that is available for water skiing and other activities. Fishing is excellent and there is a public boat launch. Boat rentals are available nearby. Several golf courses are within 30 minutes, 40 minutes to Belfast and all the antique shops along Rte 1 to Searsport, 50 minutes to Camden/Rockport and 2 hrs to Bar Harbor and Acadia National Park.

Very quiet cozy camp

  • 4 of 5

Very nice and comfortable. Plenty of space and a nice deck. Weather was wet and cold for our trip but were able to fish some off the dock which was enjoyable for my boys. Thank you for providing everything we needed for a peaceful stay.

Sincerely,

Singh Family

Beautiful spot on the lake!

  • 5 of 5

Little Loon Cottage was a delight! Every room has a beautiful view of the lake. You feel as you are right on top of it. The views, the loon calls and sitings are just wonderful! Our family was there for graduation weekend and we could not have picked a better place. It has everything you need like all kitchen supplies, blankets, etc. We enjoyed the lovely deck and dock and even went swimming in the pristine lake. The cottage was very quaintly decorated and was very clean. We felt so lucky to be able to enjoy this perfect little lake cottage and hope to return again for a stay at Little Loon Cottage. We already miss the lake!

Lovely cottage with wonderful deck off the kitchen.

  • 4 of 5

The location of the property is delightful. We enjoyed our stay there tremendously. The cottage is well equipped, clean, and comfortable. The only drawbacks were the steep stairs to the second floor and the one bathroom located on the first floor.

Wonderful cottage on a Great Lake.

  • 4 of 5

Very comfortable cottage, with nice touches by the owner. Very happy to find this property. Details were very good, gas and back up for the grill was one of the small details that made the stay enjoyable!

Wonderful cottage, close to the water

  • 5 of 5

We had a wonderful stay here. It's close proximity to the boat ramp (and ice cream stand) really helped make this fishing weekend one to remember. The deck was great for grilling, and enjoying the views of the lake. The dock was also great, as other properties on the lake had some rather lacking docks. We look forward to hopefully being able to stay here again next Spring.

Great visit at cozy lakeside cottage

  • 4 of 5

Almost 180-degree views right on the water — best on the lake. Lovely, clean, quiet cottage with a dock, a deck, and a tree swing. Must bring your own water, but all other amenities work just fine. Plenty of diners and restaurants a short drive away. Would definitely return for another visit.
