Thalassa Beach Resort is set in the beautiful conservation area of Bafra, at the foot of the Karpas peninsula in Northern Cyprus. This region is acknowledged for its unspoilt beauty with glorious sandy beaches, clean Mediterranean waters and a ruggedly spectacular coastline, along with a backdrop of the Besparmak mountain range.

This high specification two bedroom, two bathroom apartment penthouse has a large private roof terrace with jacuzzi hot tub, BBQ area and shower boasting beautiful sea, beach and mountain views. Thalassa Beach is itself an idyllic peaceful location yet only a 5 minute drive from Bafra beach with its 2 x 5* hotels with restaurants, bars, water parks and casinos. The nearest town of Bogaz has a pretty harbour with excellent harbour side restaurants serving caught that day fish and the excellent local meze dishes. You will also find a well stocked supermarket here to look after all your shopping needs.

There is a huge communal free-form / lagoon style pool plus a separate fun pool with 3 aqua slides, fully equipped gym with hot tub, bar restaurant / convenience store, beach volleyball court, boules, mini golf, table tennis, kayaks, children's play area, communal BBQ area and pool bar. The complex also has has its own beautiful private beach and jetty, decked areas and sun beds, parasols and other shaded areas.

The apartment is fully furnished with an open plan lounge with HD television + Blu-ray / DVD player, dining area and kitchen. The kitchen is equipped with a gas hob and oven, additional rotisserie grill, fridge freezer, dishwasher, washing machine, espresso machine, kettle, toaster, iron and ironing board. There is also remote control air conditioning throughout.

A reserved underground car parking space is also provided. It is nice to be able to get into a cool car parked well out of the way of the hot summer sun. A lift operates from the car park and takes you to within a few feet of the apartment entrance.

Car hire with car pick-up at Ercan or taxi pick-up from Ercan or Larnaca can be arranged to make your holiday run smoothly. Driving is on the left as in the UK so is easy to adapt. There are excellent and largely traffic free roads in Northern Cyprus which make sightseeing a real pleasure. Local guide books are also provided in the apartment to plan all your excursions.

Many people do not realise that the currency in Northern Cyprus is the Turkish Lira. The economic problems with the Euro, which are in the news at the moment, are limited only to South Cyprus. Northern Cyprus has a completely separate government and financial system, which does not use the Euro. The banking system is functioning as usual and, thankfully, it is not affected by any financial problems.

You can change your pounds to Turkish Lira before departing, or whilst you are here. The exchange rate is favourable so you will find that eating out, sightseeing and shopping all represent excellent value for money. If you want to withdraw money there are plenty of cash-point machines, and banks in all of the main centres. Credit cards are widely accepted in hotels, shops and restaurants.

A holiday in Northern Cyprus is the perfect opportunity to relax and spend time with friends and family. The pace of life is unhurried and the local people friendly and welcoming.

I first visited Northern Cyprus on my honeymoon in 1997 and fell in love with the relaxed unspoilt charm of the country and its warm hospitable people. After a number of further holidays there I decided to purchase an apartment on this development due to its superb beachside location.

Fantastic apartment and resort!

We stayed at John's apartment for a week and loved it! The resort is incredibly child friendly. Our 4 year old loved it! John was very helpful in the lead up to our stay and helped arrange a cot and hire car (complete with car seats for the children!). The pool was like a bath and perfect for young children. We hope to be back in the future!

Great apartment and complex

The apartment had everything we needed and the roof terrace was lovely. The facilities on the site were brilliant, my 3 kids loved it with a huge pool that was like a bath, water slides, football pitch, tennis courts, mini golf, games room and all free to use! The complex was a 15 min drive to a large supermarket and the restaurants in Bogaz were great, the food was lovely and really reasonably priced! The weather was gorgeous and we had a great time. John was really helpful with all questions and sorting our transfer and hire car.

The apartment was great, it had all the facilities we needed and great complex. Recommended!!!

The apartment was quiet, spacious, lovely air conditioning, had a great roof terrace and was within a 2 minute walk to the beach, pool and waterslides. John was fantastic and always available to help if needed. The best thing about this complex was never having to fight for a sunbed, you could go down at any time and get one, which for main school holidays is amazing. The complex had so many things for kids, my 13 year old's and 2 year old had a whale of a time!! There's football goals, mini golf, bowls, tennis, giant chess, 3 brilliant waterside and it's all free!!! The pool has 2 baby pools and the main pool and they were like a warm bath, you could stay in them all day!! Bogaz has lots of lovely restaurants (recommend Kiyi and Kemal in yeri for more authentic food). Hilltop is also good but more English menu but always top quality. The value was amazing, for 5 of us we never paid more than £70 for a meal and that was pushing the boat out. We averaged about £55 normally which was 2 courses and drinks. Wouldn't hesitate to recommend this apartment and complex to anyone. The weather isn't bad either!! 😊?

Beautiful complex and lovely apartment.

Had a lovely time at Thalassa. The pool and beach areas are stunning and very peaceful.

The apartment was lovely and we particularly enjoyed the views from the roof terrace.

John was extremely helpful assisting us with airport transfers and car hire.

We look forward to returning soon.

Excellent apartment, very quiet and relaxing

Very well appointed apartment in an excellent resort. Lots to do if you hire a car or you can chill out on the beach / on site bar & restaurant. I would recommend Northern Cyprus, lovely people, great food, fantastic scenery and beaches. With the Turkish Lire it's excellent value too.

Bafra is the gateway to the beautiful Karpas Peninsula. Here you will find magnificent mile after mile of unspoilt beaches. On the north coast there is the brand new Karpas Gate marina with a fantastic beach club, restaurant and other facilities. The Apostolos Andreas monastery is also right at the northeast tip of the Karpas. You will often see more wild donkeys than people as you drive through this magnificent area. If you would like to get back to nature beach huts can be hired for the night up at Golden Beach on the south coast. And on the north coast in the same area you will find Turtle Beach, home to the green turtles that nest there.

Fees No additional mandatory fees

Included in the quote is a damage deposit of £120. The rental charge includes £20 electricity usage per week. The major factor with electricity usage is the amount the aircon is used. At the end of the stay the electricity meter is read + apartment inspected. Assuming no breakages / damage to the apartment the damage deposit is returned less any adjustment for additional electricity use. This takes approx 7 - 10 days to process.

Owner's Cancellation Policy

  • 50% refund for cancellations more than 14 days before check-in date.
  • 100% refund for cancellations more than 30 days before check-in date.
  • Service Fee fully refunded on cancellations that qualify for 100% refund.
