Nestled in the South Devon countryside this 400 year-old thatched cottage holds a Grade II listed status. The characterful cottage is only a mile and a half away from Bigbury-on-Sea with its sandy beach shops and café. Guests can visit Burgh Island from there by boarding the sea-tractor when the tide is in. For those who want to get out and see the area there are many coastal walks as well as windsurfing and canoeing activities to try. There are also several attractions such as Agatha Christie s Greenway and the Woodlands Adventure Park to visit by car as well as popular tourist locations such as Dartmouth Torquay and Salcombe. This cottage retains its 400-year history and is packed with period features which include low level exposed beams ceilings doorways and cob walls. Upon entering the cottage guests will immediately find themselves in the lounge/diner furnished with a comfortable sofa and armchairs. Entertainment is provided by a TV DVD player and Hi-Fi. The dining table is large enough to seat the whole family and the room is kept warm by a woodburner-effect electric fire. The kitchen is reached by two steps and is equipped with an electric oven hob fridge with a small ice-compartment and microwave. There is also an out-house which adjoins the property and accessed through the kitchen containing a freezer and washing machine. Upstairs there is one double bedroom and one twin bedroom both bedrooms are accessed via traditional cottage style stairs which are narrow and steep (no hand rail). The bathroom is located on the ground floor and features a shower over bath and WC. Outside guests can enjoy the large enclosed garden located at the rear of the cottage which also features garden furniture. There is off-road parking for three cars.
