An ideal base for enjoying all the area has to offer. Weymouth itself has a selection of pubs shops and restaurants. It s seafront beaches and local life has a definite charm. Attractions such as the Sealife Centre is well worth a visit. A little further afield you will find the heart of the World Heritage Jurassic Coastline providing some of the finest walks and picturesque views. Including Hardy s monument Chesil Beach and pretty villages. Discover other interesting places to visit including Abbotsbury Swannery Monkey World Dinosaur Museum Lulworth Cove and Castle and Durdle Door to name but a few. The stylish accommodation extends over three floors and consists of THREE bedrooms: 1 twin (restricted head room) 2 doubles. Bathroom: with shower over bath and WC. Lounge/diner: with wall mounted 3D TV and DVD. Kitchen: galley style with electric oven gas hob washing machine dishwasher microwave and fridge/freezer in cupboard. Amenities: a parking permit with details of zone F is made available. This allows one car to be parked free of charge on designated streets. Other parking roadside or public car park. Bed linen towels electric gas and Wi-Fi included. 1 small dog welcome. Regret no smoking. Location: restaurant next door beach shops pubs and further restaurants all within walking distance.
The cottage had everything a holiday maker could wish for. Comfortable clean beds and towels. Well situated for the beach and restaurants, which are numerous. Don't forget to pre-book though as some of them get filled very quickly.
Unfortunately there is a lot of early morning noise from the restaurant kitchens next to the property and the other one just little up the road. Their bins are emptied with much clattering and banging, especially the bottle bins, at 7am each morning, so no chance of a lie in. There is a ventilator/extractor system to the side and back of the property, which continues to run night and day. Only one WC so if you're in the top floor you have to go down three flights of stairs to use it in the night. No bannister on the top floor stairs. The 'garden', there isn't one, but the patio, up on the first floor, is unusable due to the pigeon droppings, which are numerous as they nest under the ventilator. Parking, if you're lucky to get one adjacent to the property, can be a bit of a problem although you are given a parking permit to park in the street or local area and if you're a two car family add on the cost of car parking. A big fire safety issue I could see was no door to shut off the kitchen. No door to the top floor bedroom, therefore should a fire break out it would be funnelled upwards like a chimney. How those in the top bedroom would get out I do not know as there is no fire escape window up there. Sorry I've had to put such a downer on this property review but I have booked many properties, here in UK and also South of France, and this, albeit a lovely property, has many downsides to it. Move it to a different location and it would be fantastic.
