Beautiful old cottage refurbished to a very high standard

  • 5 of 5

Reef Cottage is an old property refurbished to a very high standard to provide excellent accommodation. The bathroom, en suite and kitchen were spotlessly clean and it was difficult to believe the bathrooms had not been refitted just a week ago. The kitchen was a joy to work in. The frontage onto the street belies the size of the accommodation. There are books everywhere for every possible taste and we were particularly impressed by the range of pictures, prints and photographs - so much so that we tracked down one of the artists and went and bought one as a reminder of our stay. Our holiday in late March, meant the village was quiet and it was possible to sit on the patio and hear nothing but the waves on the rocks below. When dusk fell however the cottage was warm and cozy. Appledore is a delightful and interesting old town and everyone was extremely friendly.
