About the property

The quaint fishing village of Appledore is an idyllic place for a holiday in North Devon. Stroll by the attractive quay and watch the fishing boats bob in the harbour; wander the narrow streets sample some of the ice cream from the well-regarded local producer Hockings; enjoy fresh local produce from the village deli; or take a boat trip down the River Torridge. For a change of scenery there is no need to go too far as the pretty village of Instow which can be reached via the short journey on the estuary ferry offers a partially sandy beach from where visitors can watch the comings-and-goings from the village yacht club. For a larger beach the town of Westward Ho! is just a few minutes drive away and offers an impressive two-mile wide stretch of sand. There is something really special about being able to gaze across the water and watch boats quietly come and go and this property offers relaxing sea views from almost all of the rooms. The spacious lounge/diner has large sliding patio doors which offer uninterrupted estuary views from both the dining table and the comfortable sofa. There is also a TV and DVD here should guests be able to tear their eyes away from the magnificent views as well as a warming coal-effect electric fire. The kitchen which also overlooks the waterfront is equipped with an oven hob microwave fridge/freezer dishwasher and washing machine. There are two bedrooms in the apartment the first of which is a king-size bedroom enjoys views across the estuary and access out to the patio. The other bedroom is a cosy double room. Finally there is a shower room with WC. Outside the property boasts a waterfront patio to the rear of the property for which the owners have provided table and chairs perfect for alfresco meals and drinks. (Please note there is a low wall here so children will need to be supervised at all times). As is typical in Appledore there is no parking attached to the property but guests will be able to find either roadside parking or public car parks nearby.
