Absolutely perfect - couldn't have hoped for anything better!
We spent a week at this beautiful property in early September and completely fell in love with it. A long single track road leads to the property from the A82, winding through woodland and fields to reach it. Off road parking is available. As soon as you get out of the car you are aware of the peace and beauty of the place.
The cottage is a semi-detached property, and the owners live in the property next door. We were greeted on arrival, and shown around the cottage, but after that there was no intrusion at all. It felt reassuring to know that there was someone else nearby.
The cottage itself was exactly what we were looking for as a base to explore the Highlands. Accessed by a side path, there is a generous decking area and garden with furniture for outside dining. Downstairs is the kitchen/lounge-diner - open plan and spacious, with comfortable seating and a large TV. Upstairs is a large twin room, and a separate double room (accessed via the twin) with a skylight over the bed - perfect for watching the moon rise if that's your thing. The bathroom (also accessed via the twin) has a good shower; and views out over the stunning landscape, which we couldn't stop taking photos of.
The whole cottage is decorated beautifully, well maintained, and exceptionally clean.
It was the perfect base for us to explore the surrounding area - we went on numerous long hikes - and it was good to have a real 'home' to come back to where we could relax in comfort, watching the wildlife (regularly saw deer in the woods, and rabbits) and attempting to befriend the cows that graze in the field next door.
Looking forward to booking it again soon.
