Decent place, could be better
While the management company I worked with couldn’t have been more helpful, we arrived and found the location in less than ideal condition. I will start with the bad. Dust and cobwebs could be found all over. Although they are very direct about making sure to remove trash the outdoor trash cans had old cigarette and cigar butts in them. The carpets downstairs were stained and are due for either a very thorough cleaning or preferably replacement. One of the downstairs bathrooms is carpeted rather than any normal sort of non water absorbing material. As a result there is a mild smell of mildew or mold in the bathroom. Not overpowering but you know it’s there. The toilet in that same bathroom tends to continue running if you don’t stop and lift the handle after flushing. The sliding screen door doesn’t seem to fit properly and will jump off track and fall if you attempt to use it. The pool table is a nice touch but they didn’t provide chalk for the pool cues. Not that it mattered because one of the 2 provided was missing its tip anyway. The back patio downstairs has a missing fence panel allowing for children to potentially fall a few feet down into the neighboring property. The only issue outside of cleanliness on the main level was with the stove. It has a mind of its own and even the lowest setting ran closer to high, so if you cook on it watch your food closely or you may turn around to get something from the fridge and find what’s in your pot burning. The biggest issue I had and hope is resolved for the next group who rents is that we found the jacuzzi (a primary selling point for me renting this location) was not functional. First day that we tried to use it we found that it would run for 15 minutes and then trip the breaker. We tried a few times and it happened again and gave up. Never ran long enough to get up to a usable temperature although one cousin gave it a go anyway. To be fair the management company had someone sent out first thing the following morning who said he fixed it. Well he didn’t. It shortly after we tried to use it that evening experienced the same problem with tripping the breaker. That we found frustration and very disappointing.
For the good, it is well stocked for kitchen items for the most part. It is spacious for a large group. While much of the furniture and things were dated they were perfectly reasonable and as described. If I return I will probably seek out a different option before considering this place again
It was actually more than we expected. So much bigger than it looks.
For future reference....it’s a gas grill, you’ll need to provide propane. We didn’t get to bbq. Overall no complaints. Good experience.
We are pleased that you had enjoyed your stay with us in our Chipmunk Lodge during the Spring. For Chipmunk Lodge the gas grill is actually hooked up to the main gas line of the house, so no propane is necessary. For your next stay all you would need to do is turn the gas valve on and your bbq will be ready to cook, as we have the lines turned off when not in use for safety. We also encourage guests to give us a call during their stay in any regards to their home and we can resolve those issues immediately. We appreciate you staying with us and we hope to see you again soon.
Cozy family get away
Wonderful house. Well kept. No bugs. Loved our stay. Thank you
The place is beautiful and cozy, me and my family have a great time.
The rooms are clean and spacious, they have a full kitchen, and the Jacuzzi was fun. We definitely came back again.
The house was cozy and had a great cabin feel. The kids loved the sledding slope on the side too. Would have been a 5 star accommodation if the bathroom sink wasn't clogged and the roof didn't leak in one of the bedrooms.
House was great
House was great and employees were very nice
