Recently renovated and redesigned, this home’s hosts brought with them a breath of fresh air. Turn right from the welcome mat to find the sitting room's wood burning stove and bay window sofa. Further down the hall is the open-plan dining room and kitchen, and you’ll pass an island breakfast bar as you head out through glass doors to the garden, a generous walled-in space of painted decking and quirky shrubs.

Upstairs there‘s a double bedroom in soft teal which leads to the roof terrace, where bare-brick walls are one way and a view over Kentish Town is the other. Another flight up leads to the master bedroom and ensuite: here painted panels and carved scrolling evoke a vintage charm. The top floor has two more double bedrooms and the refreshing family bathroom. Hampstead Heath is close by for further revitalisation.

About Owner / Property Manager

onefinestay gives you the chance to stay in someone's place while they're out of town. You get to live their life for a few days and nights.

Booking a stay is as easy as booking a hotel room. And there's service to match.

Nobody wants to be a tourist, so our homes come with recommendations from the people who live in them. For everything else, we're here 24/7.

Why Owner / Property Manager chose Camden & Covent Garden

Starting off as a refuge from the plague and the noisome airs for City folk, Highbury was a rural retreat until the Victorians engulfed it in their building-boom megapolis.

Past the busy Highbury Corner, where Hugh Grant turned the air blue in the opening sequence of Four Weddings and a Funeral, lies the inviting grass expanse of Highbury Fields, flanked by prime property. At the top nestles Highbury Barn, a genteel parade of shops where locals stop off in the corner pub, carrying bags of Stinking Bishop from one of London’s prime cheese retailers, the pungent La Fromagerie, or heading to always-packed Italian restaurant Trullo on St Paul’s Road.

There are plenty of choice cultural experiences, like the acoustic Union Chapel on Upper Street (Kris Kristofferson, Martha Wainwright and Lloyd Cole play this season), the Estorick Collection on Canonbury Square harbouring Italian art and an authentic garden café, and the left-field independent theatre performances at the King’s Head, Hen & Chickens and Old Red Lion, reinforcing this area’s tradition of fun-searching free thinking.

What makes this house unique

Booking a stay is as easy as booking a hotel room, with online payment and confirmation. You get the same attention to detail and personal service too.

Every home is properly cleaned before and after you stay, beds made (we can even do hospital corners) and bathrooms kitted out with luxury toiletries. There’s a maid service if you want it, as well as other hotel-style amenities.

Once we’ve helped you settle in, we’re just a call away, 24/7. If it’s something we can’t solve over the phone, we’ll pop over to lend a hand.

And because nobody wants to be a tourist, our homes come with personal and unique recommendations from the people who live in them – places to eat, things to do and adventures to go on.
