Beautiful, quirky, eclectic manor house in secluded surroundings
Fantastic house with amazing grounds, which we enjoyed with our friends. The house is wonderfully quirky with many unexpected rooms and hidden treats and is steeped in history, being built in 1893.
The bedrooms were lovely and the communal spaces were also great, with a modern kitchen alongside a Louis XVI style drawing room, a victorian formal dining room and a modern cosy lounge with large TV.
I would recommend this venue to anyone who appreciates the unusual and enjoys relaxing in a beautiful, private space.
Thank you very much for your kind words. We hope to see you back soon!
Thoroughly enjoyed our stay! Made great use of outdoor hot tub, cinema room and games room.
Lovely part of the world.
The ideal get away from it all family get together holiday in a Manor just made our weekend.
Our weekend for all the family (14) of us was a an amazing experience with the amount of resources all under 1 roof to use made this a weekend never to forget. The Manor has been delicately designed for all different periods of time and yet the facilities are all up to date. Thank you and we hope to return at another time of the year.
Lovely Manor House but let down by maintenance issues
Cleugh Manor is located in a tranquil setting with great facilities to keep all age groups entertained. However, it is let down by too many maintenance issues. We did enjoy our stay but would not return in view of the issues we encountered.
We are glad you enjoyed your stay but for the staff working at the house were very disappointed by your review because the issues were caused by your party (evidence provided).
The toilet Macerator was blocked by a plastic toy. Security footage confirmed extra guests and dogs at the property. The property was left in a filthy condition, including stained beds.
We provide a very high end accommodation which was not valued or looked after. In spite of our experience we did not leave a negative review nor make deduction from the deposit. We therefore are completely shocked by the counter intuitive review which we believe does not honestly reflect stay.
The property was amazing, the pictures do not do it justice.
First impressions when we pulled into the long driveway were wonderful, the house was so much more than we had expected. Every room was a delight, the beds were all soooo comfortable. The pool was a massive hit with everyone and many hours were spent in it, as was the outside hot tub. Our weather was lovely but we all said it would be a fantastic place to stay in winter or when wet, plenty to do.
Everyone had plenty of space, which with a big group worked very well, but being able to come together outside or in the dining room was lovely.
We brought our dog who was able to wander in the outside yard happily, lovely walks on the lead as there are plenty of sheep around. He took to laying in the hallway, the center of the house so he could see everyone coming and going.
We have recommended Cleugh Manor to friends already, and would love to come back to swim and sit in the hot tub in the snow. Thank you
The house is excellent, great facilities, everything you could wish for.
We had an excellent weekend at the house, lovely touches of luxury here and there and an abundance of great facilities to chose from. Wouldn’t hesitate to return to stay again.
