About this property

Ancient farmhouse from Valpolicella dated from 1812

Ancient farmhouse in stone of three floors perched on the hill; it offers a wonderful view over the valley. On the ground floor, you will find different environments: the old barn, transformed into a wide porch and heated by a mighty chimney, the kitchen which is equipped with white goods and dishwasher, the dining room for 8 people, and the two living rooms with satellite TV and a small library, all with chimneys. On the first floor you will find the bedrooms, all with a view over the valley. They can accommodate up to seven people. The bedrooms come in different styles: one large bedroom with a king bed, that with previous notification can accommodate a small bed for children, double bedroom with single beds and a chimney, another double bedroom. All of them have exposed beams. Lastly, a refined single bedroom with a wallpaper from the era. Two recently restored vintage bathrooms that offer wide showers; the building concludes with one laundry room. On the outside there is a garden equipped with tables and small beds, and also there are wide green spaces that are part of the farm.

Characterful and spacious rural property with beautiful views
A charming farmhouse which is well equipped and very spacious. The outdoor space has amazing views and we enjoyed alfresco dining most days. The hot tub is lovely - a beautiful spot under the stars. Stefano and Paula were wonderfully friendly hosts - they organised a baby cot for us and made sure we had all we needed during our sťay and recommended some lovely places to visit. We thought this was a great location for exploring Lake Garda and the Valpolicella wine region. Could happily have stayed longer.

Beautiful Farmhouse in the hills above Verona
Wonderful stay at Campalongo. The owners warmly greeted us and made sure we settled in - it was a lovely welcome. They also organised tickets for a local show and recommended places to visit. The farmhouse is beautifully decorated and very comfortable. The views from the gardens are beautiful and perfect for alfresco dining. The location is good for Lake Garda, Verona and even did a day trip to Venice. We would definitely return - loved it.

Beautiful location and lovely village.
We booked the farmhouse because we wanted somewhere large and quiet to house our family and to house all of our "stuff" prior to my daughter's wedding. This is a holiday rental which is in a wonderful location in a lovely village but which, nevertheless, requires the visitor to disregard a few home comforts because it is remote. There are many beautiful parts of the UK countryside where a visitor would have the same problem. Technically, wifi is available but browsing the internet is not really possible and we were unable to send or collect messages. Availability of hot water is limited and we could have done with more large bath towels. It would have made for a better first impression if the grass at the front of the house had been cut before we arrived. It is, however, a wonderful location, the house is full of character and Stefano will prepare you a lovely Italian slow dinner as an extra.

Heaven in the Valpolicelle region of Italy
Campolongo, in the heart of Italian wine country, is heaven on earth. This 4+ bedroom farmhouse is charming and comfortable beyond belief. Close to the historic city of Verona, it offers a perfect home base for exploring the richness of northern Italy. This was our second stay at Campolongo, and it won’t be our last. Grazie Stefano!

Traumhafter Kurzurlaub

We represent the third generation of our old family that has always lived at Verona. Our family ancestors include various local artists, painters and colloquial poets. We are two professionals passionate for travelling, nature, and the beauties that surround us; The Valpolicella, the Garda Lake, the dolomites and our Verona, a UNESCO patrimony. We dedicate part of our free time to whoever wants to visit these places.

Why they chose this property

My family has been dedicated to this house from three generations ago. My grandfather; reaching the end of his working career, had made this his summer residence, restoring it completely.
In the eighties, my parents continued the family tradition by making further improvements. A few years ago the third generation completed the restoration. The house has always been opened to our friends for dinners and tours in the farmland, moreover in the season when cherries are harvested in our orchard. Our idea to offer our house for your vacation is born precisely from this innate inclination towards hospitality.

What makes this property unique

We have spent our childhood in this house and love every single detail. Our house is a true residence typical of the area, restored by respecting the local traditions and using materials from the place. In the entrance near the iron bell, there is an engraving that reminds us of year 1812. All the environments have exposed beams and old wooden floors. The old barn is now a fresh environment with a collection of old tools of the peasants tradition. Underneath the house there is a typycal cellar carved within the stone. On the outside a wide garden offers a colourful view depending on the season.
