Fantastic apartment within walking distance of city

  • 5 of 5

The warrender Apartment is well located for local amenities in either Marchmont or Bruntsfield and is just a short walk into the bustling city centre. Even during inclement weather, a bus stop can be found just around the corner or a taxi cab can be booked in advance or hailed of the street.

The apartment is very clean & well furnished to make for a pleasant stay. The 2 double bedrooms are spacious and airy, however, the single is more suited for children. A decent size kitchen complete with dishwasher to make eating in more enjoyable.

There's a few local grocery stores offering quality products for self-catering or cafe bars / restaurants if you prefer to eat out. The flat is on the 3rd floor, so not really suited to the infirm due to only having a staircase & no lift. Parking is pay & display Monday to Friday 8.30am till 5.30pm with ample spaces available, free parking is located 1/2 a mile away if required.

Edinburgh Castle can be viewed from the kitchen window which is always nice to see & reassures of the closeness within the city. The neighbourhood is quiet, friendly and welcoming which makes you feel at home & ease if one is unfamiliar with city life.

Wonderful Flat

  • 5 of 5

Our family of five had a lovely time. We were very comfortable at the flat and had everything we needed. The location was perfect, close to historic city centre, close to stores and restaurants, and easy to access the carriageway for visiting attractions outside of Edinburgh.

Spacious, graceful apartment in an excellent location

  • 5 of 5

What a great stay we had this past December! Our family of four had plenty of room to spread out and we appreciated the bonus room, a little windowless single bedroom that was great for anyone needing a nap or sleep at odd hours due to the time change. The apartment was clean and very spacious and well laid out. We spent happy evening hours all flopped on the three living room couches reading and enjoying the Christmas tree the owners had put up. The kitchen was well-equipped and light-filled with the great view of the castle across the green of the back yards of all the buildings on the block. The washing machine was a big help. I enjoyed being able to have a bath -- so many places only have shower stalls. The mattresses and pillows were comfortable and there was a big armoire with many drawers in the master bedroom so it was easy to fully unpack. Our family doesn't mind stairs and loves being up high with views, quiet, and breezes; note that it is up four flights.

The location is excellent. At the corner, there's a Sainsbury's food market and if you walk an extra block on Marchmont Crescent, there's a Scotmid Co-op with more organic options. Opposite the Sainsbury's, we enjoyed a few breakfasts at the Cobbs Marchmont. Try the Full Scottish, split with a partner unless you are very hungry. A splendid fresh seafood store, Eddie's Seafood Market, is a stone's throw from the Scotmid Co-op. When we wanted to walk into town, it was a pleasure to go through The Meadows and when we wanted a cab, there was a taxi stand three blocks away.

The only maintenance issue I'd raise is that the sashes on the double hung windows need repairing and you'd want to check on this before renting in the summer when you'd want the windows open wide in dry weather. December was so mild that we needed some cool air at night in our bedroom and had to figure out ways to prop the windows open.

If you want to settle in to an attractive, quiet but central, archetypal Edinburgh residential neighborhood with sweet shops and a good pub and all basic services, you can't do better than this lovely spot.

Edinburgh gem

  • 5 of 5

We really enjoyed our stay here. Walking distance to downtown, great restaurants close by and grocery store at end of street.

The apartment was excellent for us three ladies, we loved the fact that we each had our own sofa to curl up and read on in the living room. Bedrooms were spacious and comfortable and kitchen modern with everything we needed. I highly recommend this flat.

Great Flat! Great Price!

  • 5 of 5

I Brought my family of 5 for a week in Edinburgh. The flat was perfect for us. I contained 3 bedrooms, 2 of them very large which easily accommodated all of us. The living room was also very large and had plenty of seating and a television.

The kitchen contained everything we needed even though we didn't cook, there were plenty of cups and glasses for our needs. All of the appliances worked great.

Peter met us at the flat at check in to go over everything with us. He also included a welcome basket which included coffee, snacks, and a very good bottle of wine.

The area around the flat was quiet and safe. There is a grocery store, coffee shop, pub and several bus stops close by.

The flat is on the top floor with no lift for anyone that may struggle with steps.

We had a wonderful time and will definitely stay here again.
