About Elzbieta Fiett
Both of us are passionate architects who love to travel to discover new cultures, different attitudes towards life and the resulting inspiring architecture. For us, Nicaragua is about warmth, being grateful, being one with nature, taking the time to smell a flower, playing with the kids at the beach all day long and just hanging out in hammocks in the company of family and friends. In Nicaragua time slows down. We have three children and love spending all of our free time with them at Villa Pavela.
Why Elzbieta Fiett chose San Juan del Sur
We chose this location for its beauty and tranquility. Playa Remanso is nestled in one of the most beautiful bays along the Pacific Coast of Nicaragua. San Juan del Sur is only a short drive by car. Conveniently close for picking up groceries yet comfortably far away to let you abandon yourself to the peace and quiet of Remanso Bay.
What makes this Villa unique
While traveling in Nicaragua, we fell in love with the traditional open air living concept, which inspired the design of our Villa. Our property being perched on a ridge offers 270 degree vistas towards the Pacific and the surrounding mountains. From the moment we set foot on the lot we were sold on this breathtaking unique panoramic quality. The sweet smelling, cool breeze in our face sealed the deal. Ever since we've owned Villa Pavela, our favorite thing is to wake up before the kids and run off to our beach for an early morning swim. Returning to the fresh smell of coffee and breakfast, prepared by our housekeeper Eliza, is simply heaven. It would be our pleasure to share this magical experience with you.

Very well thought out place.
We loved our stay there.
We were well taken care of Auxilladora and Loius. They ran a very tight ship. I think the floors were swept and mopped twice a day! Was awesome. I highly recommend having the caretakers prepare meals. It really makes a big difference, we really enjoyed just sitting down to already prepared meals. Wonderful.
Our visit was in March, end of the dry season so we missed out on what I am sure is amazing foliage. The house is designed well. The wind is funnelled down canyon there towards the bay so we never needed AC. Wind was constant. Kept things plenty cool in the shade.
The beach at Playa Hermosa is pretty short walk away. A beginning surfer's break. 2 little cantina type restaurants. Food plenty good. Rent surfboards there and have lessons.
If you are a proficient surfer may want to head to Playa Hermosa or Playa Maderas.
We loved the little cat, Methinga and we were also greeted by the Giant Toad on our arrival (almost the size of the cat).
Beautiful view if you walk up the hill to the south. Can see Playa Hermosa waves breaking. See Costa Rica and then north to San Juan Del Sur... Breathtaking.
Quiet place to stay, with a very nice view and close to the beach
We stayed a week at this house with our 2 small children (3 and 6). The house is very open and nice to live in. The wind is blowing all the time specially at night so its very confortable. The beach is very close and nice to swim and to surf. The house was clean at our arrival and Eliza is cleaning also during the stay.
Eliza is a really amazing cook so it's better to have her cook! She is cleaning afterward as well so it's a real vacation !
The city is not far but the road is bit rough. A car is ok though.
The owner Mme Fiett, is absolutely lovely and helpful before and during the stay.
We all loved our stay at villa Pavela. We highly recommend it !
Well stocked, beautiful location, restful and peaceful
We had a wonderful stay at Villa Pavela. It is a quiet location, breezy, a close walk to the beach down a hill.
We never even turned on the air conditioning, it was so breezy. Understand the living area is outdoors, so you are one with the elements, whether it be insect, air or people. It is so lovely to lay in the hammocks and relax and listen to the wind, and maybe the surf, butterflies flit by the beautiful flowering bushes. We never saw a mosquito, but many small lizards, and even a LARGE toad came to visit.
Aliza is very warm, friendly and caring, as well as helpful. She and her husband are very accommodating, their quarters are very close by . Do be aware, that he starts watering the plants very early in the morning, so do not walk around in your undies ( or less). The open air plan of the house keeps you cool, but also visible.
We enjoyed all the outdoor spaces, the back terrace is lovely in the heat of the afternoon.
Every kitchen tool is there, as well as some books and games, we never found the DVD's, but did not need them, it was just so nice to chat and lay in the hammocks.
There are two hammocks, a few rocking chairs, a dining room table that seats 4 and stools at the counter. I would think that more than 4 people would be crowded. No sofa or indoor living room.
We did not rent a car, and used Alvaro a few times as a taxi driver. Be aware that it is isolated out there, but we were happy to body surf and chill. The road at night is dark, rutted and unpaved, as well as bikes, kids and animals may be in the road.
Views are spectacular from 3 sides. We loved it, hope you do too.
Short Break in the Sun
I spent 2 amazing weeks at Villa Pavela. The villa is in an incredible location, seconds from the beach and secluded enough to be completely relaxing. Very comfortable also. Eliza is very helpful and her family are lovely, never intrusive but always available to help. Remanso beach is perfect for beginner to intermediate surfers, consistently good waves and a cool little taco bar on the beach made for some awesome days. I had a truck so San Juan del Sur was accessible for meals out or supplies.
Overall Villa Pavela left a great impression on me, setting up the rental was easy and the owner Ela was always available to answer whatever questions i had, usually daily! The Nicaraguan people i met in my 2 weeks were lovely, happy, the town is buzzing and food always great. Exactly what i was looking for in a holiday, and i will be back for sure...
Glad to hear you had such a relaxing stay.
Villa Pavela does not have any immediate neighbors which contributes to the sense of privacy and serenity. The property opens up on three sides to unobstructed views towards the ocean and surrounding jungle covered cordilleras. We recommend guests bring their own binoculars to observe the richness of the surrounding flora and fauna. In our garden, there is an open tray bird feeder. A few slices of pineapple or papaya will attract all sorts of birds and butterflies for you to see up close. A real treat for all nature enthusiasts. Cheers, Ela
Beautiful home, wonderful service
My friends and I stayed at Villa Pavela for a weekend earlier this month. We all thoroughly enjoyed the stay. The home is very cozy with room for 7. When we arrived, the housekeeper, Eliza, was preparing dinner for us which she will do for a small charge. She and her family are very kind and were helpful in answering our questions. The beach is about a five minute walk away. I highly recommend this rental, you will not be disappointed.
Villa Pavela is a great place to stay. Eliza is a great cook. You would hardly know she is around but she is there when you need her. Great surfing at the beach and many other fun activities to do in the area. I would stay here again.
Situated only 2 minutes on foot from the beach and surf, Villa Pavela offers a beautiful and convenient base for families, surfers and the quiet type simply seeking peaceful comfort in the spectacular views and sounds of nature. The beach provides endless challenges and fun for beginners to experienced surfers, sand castle architects and kite pilots. If playing guitar is your thing then you are welcome to use our instrument, however bring spare chords.
