Our Family Christmas Trip
My brother's family and mine get together every year between Christmas and New Year's to celebrate life, with a getaway. We lost our other brother in 2003 and since that time we have gone to different areas, mostly in the Florida, Georgia, Alabama and Tennessee regions.
We found this place in 2014, but it was being used by family for the holidays. But, we were fortunate enough to be able to get it for 2015. This place is amazing! With the layout of the house and the architecture, you can tell someone planned this home with family in mind. I call it a home, because it seems much more than a cabin. It has 4 bedrooms downstairs and 2 upstairs with a game room that includes a pool table. The downstairs bedrooms are separated by a large living area, that is very comfortable and welcomes you to sit and visit. The screened in back porch is also inviting with plenty of sitting room. The kitchen is well equipped with everything you could possibly need for cooking, and we did quite a bit of that, since the weather didn't allow us to be outside, too much. But, we did venture down to the lake, which is very large and a wonderful place to sit on the dock and enjoy nature. My son-in-law caught a very nice bass and some bream, but they were not injured, so he threw them back for the next guest. Although, there was a very nice fish cleaning area, had we chose to keep them.
The owner was easy to reach and ready to answer any questions we might have had, but we did not need to call her for any extra's, because everything you could possibly need was provided.
There were 10 adults and 5 children, ranging from 15 - 2, and a good time was had by all. We have not stayed at the same place twice, but I think, we all agree this is definitely a place we would like to stay at again.
