Great cabin minus bugs
We spent the weekend at this cabin and loved the location and the cabin. It’s far enough off the road that traffic and noise is no issue. The hot tub and grill were a plus. For the guys, we were able to find all the college football we wanted on the tv channels available. Lol! The only reason I can’t give this rental 5 stars and why I’m not sure I’d return is that we had bugs in the kitchen and bathroom to battle. I’m not sure what kind they were but we took pictures and video and notified the owner. She was very responsive just not much that can be done and nothing was offered to reimburse us for the trouble. We had to get items to keep our food sealed and were grossed out by the bugs but we were only there for a weekend. From reading other reviews this doesn’t seem to be a regular problems as I didn’t see this complaint in any I read. The only suggestion I have would be to move the fire pit behind the house. It is out front of the house in a tiny area. I was really looking forward to it and being able to lay out on blankets and look at the stars but there was no room for that.
We are sorry about the bugs we are not sure what kind or where they came from. Our pest control company is checking into this for us and will take care of the situation. Our pest control company doesn't work on weekends so we couldn't send them out. We are sorry this happened at your stay.
Perfect cozy secluded getaway
Our whole stay was excellent! Heat & AC in every room. The cabin was comfortable and stocked with more than what we needed. Plenty of dishes, kitchenware, towels, and all consumables (trash bags, TP, propane for the grill, basic toiletries & laundry soap, etc.)
We went to Bat Cave for a beautiful Fall weekend and really enjoyed our stay. Great property and close to Chimney Rock. We walked the property every morning and enjoyed the fire pit at night. Cabin is well-appointed and the owner responds quickly. Furnishings are worn but comfortable. Nice large shower. One suggestion would be to have a guide for guests who haven’t been to the area before regarding best local things to do, nearest grocery store, best hiking, etc. and how far away they are and/or addresses to plug into Maps. Overall, would definitely recommend and we hope to return!
We had such a great time at "Grandma's Mountain Cabin" ! We used the hot tub, the pre-measured chlorine to add with each use made it simple, as well as the fair warning that it might take a couple hours to heat up. We also used the fire pit on the last night and just loved it (bring your own camp chairs though, which we did). Location was super close to Chimney Rock and it's Village area where we spent most of our time. It's about 30-40 minutes over to the Sierra Nevada Brewery and about 45 min to an hour into Asheville downtown depending on traffic. The washer/dryer was convenient and the bathroom was surprisingly spacious! We had 3 adults and 2 children, one used the rollaway bed stored in the closet so that was very convenient. It was cozy for the 5 of us, but that added to the charm. Recommend this getaway for those who want hiking at Chimney rock, Lake Lure, and mountain charm.
Sweet Cabin in a Beautiful Setting
We LOVED this little cabin! It was perfect for our girl's getaway trip - it was cozy and gave us each our own space, and it was private and quiet and very well appointed and maintained. We would ask the owner to consider a slightly later check out time, especially given that the check in time is 4pm. Someone showed up in the driveway 5 minutes before checkout time and just sat there and looked at us. We felt very hurried and unfortunately ended our amazing trip on somewhat of a sour note as we had no idea who that person was. Perhaps something for the owner to consider for the future. Thank you for sharing such a wonderful cabin with us!
Great little cabin in the woods
We had a fantastic time at the cabin. Checked all the boxes for a perfect fall getaway. Can’t wait to go back.
