About Sharon Rosenbaum
I am a 4th generation Durangoan, and my husband Marc grew up there. We left Durango once it lost its small town appeal and moved to Mancos to get back to the small town feel we love. We met at Purgatory Ski Area in the Race Department 29 years ago, and have spent the greater part of our marriage as Green Home Designers and Builders. We love the mountains and the outdoors, going on walks, skiing, hiking and bike riding whenever we get a spare moment... which seem harder and harder to find these days. We have one Daughter who is presently attending University of Montana, will be staying summers with us, is a writer, and sings like a bird. She will also be co-hosting when here. We love great food, deep conversation, differing points of view, being challenged to think differently, and family time on Saturdays which hopefully includes pondering creation, a good game of ping pong, and a nap . Marc and I lived in Israel for 3 months, Panama for 2 months, and have traveled here and there in Europe and the United States, both together and separately. We enjoy movies and books of all sorts, but there's nothing quite like a moving people story. We are fond of music of all different genres, Marc plays assorted instruments and hope to be a part of creating a hit song for our daughter some day, and maybe one of his own.... guess you're never too old to dream and he definitely has the imagination and creativity to do it. We love growing vegetable, flower gardens, and we've planted a few fruit trees on the property hoping for large crops someday. We also live with my mother Eleanor who will be 94 in 2020, my sister Sheila, Joe her partner, and our 2 dogs and 3 cats. I have two favorite lines from two of my favorite movies: Shawshank Redemption: Get busy living, or get busy dying. Galaxy Quest: Never give up, never surrender! Living here on the Mancos River has been a delight and we're looking forward to sharing it with others who visit.

Why Sharon Rosenbaum chose Mancos
We're on the river! and while that makes this property very special, the gardens, greenhouse and mini forest are their own delight. We've made our home a place where we feel like we're always on vacation; we're hoping that your stay here will make you feel like you don't need a vacation when you get home from yours.

We had such a great time in Mancos thanks to the wonderful vacation rental of Sweet Home by the River. The owners were so pleasant and very friendly without being intrusive or 'present.' We had our privacy and yet knew the owners were close by should we need them. Anything and everything we wanted or needed was in the apartment. We have stayed in a lot of vacation rentals in the last 15 years and would rate Sweet Home by the River as one of the very best for cleanliness, comfort and being very well stocked! The location was perfect for touring Mesa Verde National Park, walking to restaurants, or going for a morning stroll on quiet streets. We felt very safe and secure in the rental and the electronic lock on the door was a wonderful feature.
We would highly recommend the lovely Sweet Home by the River and the owners who have decorated the space with wonderful furnishings and art (which is for sale, btw :) We wouldn't hesitate to stay again.
Thank you Sharon and Mark for the wonderful stay.
Heaven in Mancos
Perfect apartment. Walk to several eateries, wineries, and the Mancos River is along the host's property for total relaxation. Wonderful hostess and family.
Great people, very personable, respectful and considerate. Welcome back anytime.
What a gem!
Serenity. That's the word that sums this home up for me. Beautiful property, amazing garden, and a sweet host who made us feel welcomed!
Wonderful to have guests like these, hope they return in the future. Considerate and respectful.
Mesa Verde National Park is the number one attraction in the Mancos area. We have excellent restaurants, Outlier Cellars, a brewery, and art galleries and shops. Near by Durango offers train rides to Silverton, CO and Cortez has large parks and a golf course.
