VDR sits in approximately 75 acres of farmland between hills and valleys so the view from the terrace across open countryside and down to the Alvor Estuary is simply stunning. The house is privately owned by a family who take pride in offering a home from home experience to guests with luxury furnishings and fully fitted kitchen and bathroom facilities and is fully air-conditioned and heated throughout. The large sitting/dining room area has ample furniture to seat 8 as well as a breakfast bar looking through to a large, fully fitted kitchen with breakfast table setting for 4. Accessed from both kitchen and sitting area, through glass doors, are 2 terraces with dining furniture and fabulous views of the gardens and open countryside down to the Alvor Estuary.
3 bedrooms are split over 2 levels, with a twin/double room on the first floor (entrance level), and 2 double bedrooms on the ground floor. The ground floor bedrooms both have en-suite facilities whilst a first floor shower room services the upstairs room. All windows and external doors have lockable shutters.
This house is at the highest point of VDR so not only do you get the panoramic view but also much privacy. All bedrooms and the living area are equipped with air conditioning, and the living/dining room has ceiling fans.
Within a short minute's stroll is a large communal pool. A little waterfall runs down into a children's paddling pool area making VDR perfect for families. At the highest point of the village is a pergola with seating - a perfect place to relax and soak up the views of the surrounding countryside. Extensive, landscaped gardens offer plenty of space to relax and many guests comment on how easy it is to slip into their holiday in such peaceful surroundings.
The home is less than ten minutes by car from the towns of Lagos, Alvor and Portimão. The historically interesting city of Lagos is 10 km away. Faro Airport is 45 minutes away by car.

Magnified with panoramic views of the surrounding countryside, Vale da Ribeira is a very beautiful and peaceful village. Completed in 2007 it has been a huge success with holidaymakers, many of whom return year on year. While the village is conveniently located near the EN125 road, properties are set well back on elevated grounds, allowing residents and guests to enjoy peace and quiet among olive, orange and almond trees as well as other local flora. This is a year round destination - winter sun, excellent walking and bird watching, spring flowers in abundance, summer beaches and warm sunshine. The fantastically beautiful coastline and glorious hills inland are all within easy driving distance. The beaches in the Western Algarve are among the most beautiful and least crowded in Europe. There are lots of sheltered coves along the South Coast and Vale da Ribeira is very close (8km) to the famous Meia Praia beach which is the longest in the area stretching from Lagos up to the Alvor Estuary. Most beaches are easy to park at, some (for example Luz and Burgau) tend to be a little more popular and only a short walk is involved. Nearly all have some form of beach bar or restaurant. Get the map out and explore - there is so much to see and sometimes you might come across a beach that you share with only a few people. Golfers are ideally placed as some of the best courses in the Algarve are within a short drive including Penina, Palmares, Boa Vista and Parque do Floresta. Within 10 minutes is Algarve's famous Motorpark (Autodromo International Algarve) near Portimao with its racing school, driving experiences, events and activities.
