About Russell Gillespie

My family and I fell in love with these Lodges when we first came to stay here in May 2014.

Little did we know that such a holiday would turn into such a wonderful life changing experience - that we would end up taking over this established business from the previous owners and continue in their footsteps, all in under a year!

As a family we have always loved the idea of getting away to an idyllic retreat by a lake in the mountains, and we found it here.

We look forward to welcoming you to our Lodges, and hope you enjoy the experience just as much as we do!

Amazing!

  • 5 of 5

We stayed at Eagle Lodge at the end of May 2018, with our two boys (12 & 10). The lodge itself was immaculate and well equipped. Three nicely sized bedrooms (2 dbl, 1 twin) all en suite. The large dining/kitchen/lounge area is dominated by the glass doors and windows onto the veranda, which is situated right on the loch. We had lots of sunshine right up until early evening. If exploring remote countryside is your thing, then there is plenty to do out of the front door. We walked up the mountain overlooking the loch on our first day (Dun Coillich) - it's nice and wild, no paths to speak of. Once up there, we had a 360 view with virtually no roads or buildings in sight - perfect. We also drove out to Pitlochry, Dunkeld, Perth (Scone Palace). Aberfeldy is about a 25 minute drive away, and has a reasonably good co-op and many other shops and restaurants. You can also go white water rafting from Aberfeldy on the Tay, which was great fun. Russell was very welcoming and informative. In short, you won't be disappointed with this place.

Perfect Spring Break

  • 5 of 5

We had a fantastic week at Eagle Lodge. A great location for exploring the gorgeous surroundings of Perthshire & beyond. Scenery fantastic in any weather! We walked, ran, climbed, splashed and even drove to Dundee to watch St Mirren! The best times were at Eagle Lodge - so comfortable and well appointed in every way. The furniture & fittings are excellent giving and sense of luxury in a homely way.

Thanks Sandy & Russell for your welcome and hospitality. We will be back!

Best holiday ever!

  • 5 of 5

We have just enjoyed our best family holiday ever at Eagle Lodge, one of the three Lodges that is owned by Glengoulandie Lodges On The Waterfront. The minute we walked in the door we knew we were in for something special - an inviting and generous welcome pack full of goodies greeted us. And the lodge is just wonderful - immaculately presented, beautifully clean, and luxurious facilities. Then there are the stunning views across the loch to the deer park and mountains. Even on a wet day it's fun just to cosy up inside and watch the weather blow through. A great central location with so many interesting places to visit. Far too many for one holiday, so we are already planning our dates for a return visit in Summer next year.

Beautiful lodge. Beautiful location,

  • 5 of 5

We arrived at this wonderful lodge on the Friday to find it in immaculate condition . There was a lovely welcome pack and milk in the fridge for our arrival. We found the lodge to be very clean and tidy and very well equiped for all our needs. The owners Russell and Sandy could not have been more helpful recommending restaurants and activities in the local area. The scenery is absolutely stunning. We would have no problem whatsoever recommending this property to friends and family. We will definitely return for another break in the not too distant future.
