About Russell Gillespie

My family and I fell in love with these Lodges when we first came to stay here in May 2014.

Little did we know that such a holiday would turn into such a wonderful life changing experience - that we would end up taking over this established business from the previous owners and continue in their footsteps, all in under a year!

As a family we have always loved the idea of getting away to an idyllic retreat by a lake in the mountains, and we found it here.

As new owners we had to start a new listing with HomeAway. The previous owners had many wonderful reviews from guests who loved their holiday at Glengoulandie.

We look forward to welcoming you to our Lodges, and hope you enjoy the experience just as much as we do!

Superb weekend of relaxation in beautiful lakeside lodge

  • 5 of 5

We had an wonderful weekend at rainbow lodge, glengoulandie. The lodge is very thoughtfully furnished and has everything you could wish for. The hosts, Russel and Sandy, were very friendly and helpful even coming in to set the log burner for us. I really can’t recommend this lodge highly enough and look forward to a return visit.

Perfect!

  • 5 of 5

We had a lovely few days at the Rainbow Lodge. The lodge itself is beautiful...clean, spacious, and very well equipped. There were lots of little touches that make such a difference when you're staying away from home. The stunning views, cosy log burner, thoughtful welcome pack...were everything we needed for a relaxing family break! Thank you so much!

Deer at dawn

Everything about the stay was wonderful, from the scenery outside to the warmth inside. The best lodge we have stayed at. Extremely comfortable and cared for. A real treat was stepping out of the shower onto the warm bathroom floor in the morning. Would definitely stay again.

Excellent location and accomodation

  • 5 of 5

We booked this lodge for the week of our sons wedding in Kenmore and used it as our base in the week leading up (and to relax the day following !!).

Location was excellent and with 3 bedrooms all en-suite it was perfect for our needs. The kitchen was well equipped and Alice managed to bake and ice over 100 cup cakes ready for the big day.

It was wonderful to wake up each morning and draw back our curtains to look over the lochan to the deer park and mountains beyond. I even managed to catch a small wild brownie on the fly on the last day.
