About Russell Gillespie

My family and I fell in love with these Lodges when we first came to stay here in May 2014.

Little did we know that such a holiday would turn into such a wonderful life changing experience - that we would end up taking over this established business from the previous owners and continue in their footsteps, all in under a year!

As a family we have always loved the idea of getting away to an idyllic retreat by a lake in the mountains, and we found it here.

We look forward to welcoming you to our Lodges, and hope you enjoy the experience just as much as we do!

Best wishes,

Russell and Sandy

Great lodge!! Unforgettable comfort

  • 5 of 5

We visited the Rainbow lodge for the last week of July 2018

Everything was beyond and above our expectations - The beautiful lodge, the fine furniture, the thought put into every details, the view, the lake, the swans, the ducks

all together made it an unforgettable vacation.

Upon returning to the lodge from the daily trips to the beautiful places in the area it felt like returning home. Everything we needed was waiting for us in the lodge - books, games, movies etc. This was all a real treat

Russel and Sandy were very thoughtful and considerate regarding all of our needs/requests.

Thank you for an unforgettable vacation

Paradies

  • 5 of 5

Perfekt!

The perfect spot to explore the highlands of scotl

  • 5 of 5

We stayed for 8 days along with friends from Perth Australia, they were taken by surprise at the beauty of the area. To wake up each morning and look across to the deer grazing , to watch the swans and their signets swimming right in front of the balcony and to listen to the oyster catches chattering away was a complete joy for us all. The weather was perfect all week so we were able to get out and about just as planned. There is so much to see and do especially if you enjoy walking or cycling.

Russel and Sandy were great hosts making sure all our needs were catered for and the property was spotless.

I would highly recommend the lodge to anyone wanting to escape the hustle and bustle of every day life ... The perfect place to unwind and recharge the batteries.

Excellent!!

  • 5 of 5

We stayed three days in one wonderful “Glengoulandie Lodge” just in front of a small but beautiful lake with swans and ducks.

The house is in excellent location which allowed excursions to the surrounding area. It is fully equipped and furnished comfortably and tasteful.

We were pleasantly surprised with the useful necessities that were waiting for us in the kitchen and enjoyed the champagne.

We would like to thank Russell and Sandy for their hospitality and kindness.

We truly recommend it and of course, on our next trip to Scotland we will be there again.

Perfect Place to stay to explore Scotland

  • 5 of 5

The Rainbow lodge is a very well equipped house, in a beautiful surrounding. Everything was clean, there is plenty of space. The owners are friendly people, communication was spot on. This is a place for people who are looking for a very quiet, relaxing time. The lodge looks out on a little Loch with ducks, swans and a lot of birds. Right in front of the living room you can see the deer passing by. The lodge was our base, and it was perfectly possible to make day trips to different parts of Scotland. To summarize, for us, this was the perfect destination to spend our holiday. We can definitely recommend staying here.

Owner's Response: Hi Rudy and Family, Thank you very much for your great review. Our Lodges are geographically in the centre of Scotland with our local (up the road) Munro "Schiehallion" often referred to as the actual "Centre of Scotland" itself. It is great you saw so much and that you were able to totally relax back at the Lodge after your daily adventures out and about. Best wishes, Russell and Sandy

Luxury, idyllic lodge

  • 5 of 5

Beautiful lodge on the edge of a small loch. The attention to detail was impressive. The goodies on arrival were a lovely surprise and much appreciated. The lodge was immaculate, spacious and huge! The scenery from the windows/ veranda were breathtaking . Fed the ducks and swans every morning and evening. Watching their evening antics was better than TV. The weather was fantastic with never ending blue skies. Russell and Sandy were very attentive friendly hosts ensuring we had everything we needed. They responded quickly to any queries. Good central location to explore Perthshire.
