Fantastic location, with a luxury finish and and space!
Stylish and modern two bedroom apartment in a central location in London
Fantastic apt. -- spacious, ample privacy, quiet, very clean, with all the amenities of "home" -- in a very desired location in London!
The location of this flat is perfect. Restaurants, attractions, pubs, etc. The beds are super comfortable, and the kitchen has all you need for your stay. If you are flying into gatwick I highly recommend pre-booking a ride in with Mark (best taxi driver in the world!).
This was a fantastic location, you could walk to everything and everywhere, the apartment was clean and the washing machine and dryer were handy, but the bed was very uncomfortable, the shower was nightmare with the water going hot and cold and we learnt very quickly not to try and adjust it, you just had ti wait until the water became hot again, not good, the only sharp knife in the place the handle had broken of, this makes it difficult hanging on to the blade and trying to cut things.
If I could suggest to buy a new quality bed, try and get the plumbing fixed with some instructions, some new utensils and maybe even a T.V guide of some sorts.
All these things updated would make this place outstanding, all most people want is a good nights sleep and a good shower
We so enjoyed our recent stay at this property and found it met all our requirements for a vacation rental. It was clean, has the necessary modern amenities (including a proper North American style shower! and fabulous big, cushy bath towels), and is stylishly decorated. The kitchen was great! We ate breakfast in the flat every day and loved having that easy convenience. Also, Karen was very responsive to our questions and promptly helped to sort out any little glitches we encountered.
What really sells this unit is the incredible location. We walked almost everywhere we needed to go -- <5 minutes to the theatre or the Royal Opera House, < 10 minutes to the National Gallery, 10 minutes to the British Museum, 10 minutes to our favourite restaurant in Soho, etc. Fantastic. And if it was too far to walk, we opted to catch black London cabs on the street or in nearby St. Martin's Lane or Charing Cross Road or the Strand (although nearby tube stations abound). Being central is really the best way to enjoy London.
Lots of previous reviewers have mentioned the noise and this is indeed true. The apartment is close to street level and the height of the buildings surrounding the narrow lane means that the sound really echoes when everything else is quiet -- not just the occasional Saturday night revellers who happen to walk down the street, but also the garbage trucks in the middle of the night. Just be prepared with comfy ear plugs and you'll find that the convenience and ease of the brilliant location will more than compensate for the need to stop your ears.
Thanks for the great stay, Karen!
This is a great central location in Covent garden and is close to both Leicester square and Covent garden tube stops. Apartment is clean and had plenty of incidentals - soap dishwashing liquid etc
I rented this place for myself, my husband, our toddler and both of our moms for a family trip. The place was clean and cute and the rental company was extremely accommodating to anything we needed. The only minor complaint we had was when sleeping with the windows open, you can hear everything going on the street below. That being said, we did choose to rent somewhere that we felt like we were 'in the thick of it'. That being said, the nightly noise was something we understood we would need to deal with as its located in a busy and happening part of town:) Overall, great flat in a really cool area...highly recommended!
We arrived here via cab from Heathrow airport in the middle of rush hour, it took about an hour to get there. The driver found it easily with the address, although I was expecting more of an apartment looking building, it is just a door off a small side street so at first I didn't think it was the right address. I pushed the button for the intercom and the door unlocked! The unit says it is on the first floor, but you have to remember in Europe the first floor, is really the second floor. We had tons of luggage as we were traveling to bring my son home from study abroad and he had lots of baggage, I was relieved to see an elevator so we didn't have to take his large extremely heavy luggage up the stairs! We were quickly shown around, pretty basic. It had everything we needed! It had a washing machine, that also dried we had to look up on youtube how to work it, but was no problem. The wi-fi worked good -we never watched TV so can't comment on that.
We picked this place by the reviews and also the location to the tube and places we wanted to visit. It was such a fun location to be in close to shops, just 10 minute walk to theater we went to, we had so much fun once we were out the door and on our way we walked absolutely everywhere from this apartment. We loved it SO much. There was noise at night, but nothing after 12ish, and we were there on the weekend. Just people walking through on the street and the road is small so their voices echo up. I somewhat enjoyed hearing them, but did notice ear plugs in the medicine cabinet, a good option. Coming in late at night there were some guys wandering around so I wouldn't be out there alone walking around but if you are with someone else you should be fine.
We ended up having the hot water heater go out, the owner responded to our needs right away and tried to address the issue but it couldn't be resolved that day. She gave us the option of moving to another property they owned that night, which was a hassle but they were very nice to offer this to us. I will review this property also, if you are interested in being in a location a little further out, it's a lovely place too. There were 4 of us staying on the trip, 2 of us liked the Covenant Garden (this one) and 2 of us preferred : https://www.vrbo.com/6513935ha from here you couldn't walk to places, but it is more away from the touristy areas.
We were given wine and chocolates from the owner for our inconvenience. Highly reccomend this unit!
For anyone visiting London, Covent Garden sits at the top of their list of places to visit. Covent Garden is synonymous with style, culture and shopping. There is a plethora of alfresco entertainment, street cafe’s and outdoor activities to keep you busy during your stay. Covent Garden is still associated with its recent past as a fruit and vegetable market but has ditched the wholesale markets and has turned itself into one of the capital's premier shopping and tourist destinations.
The heart of Covent Garden is the central square or Piazza, which features the iconic former fruit and vegetable market, today is a home to boutique shops, restaurants and bars. The market is home to tourists, meanderers, lovers and performers. The fetching streetscapes extend out from the bustling market place and take in parts of theatreland, the Royal Opera House, Neal Street and Seven Dials.
You can find everything from authentic cheese shops to art galleries, museums the opera house, restaurants, bars and casual yet authentic pubs. Covent Garden has everything from high end culture and well trafficked streets to less explored locales and intimate venues.
In Covent Garden you can applaud and pay your change to street entertainers by day then see the latest plays or classical concerts by night. World class cultural attractions on your doorstep include: the National Portrait Gallery, the English National Opera and Drury Lane with both the Theatre Royale (showing Charlie and the Chocolate Factory) and New London Theatre (showing War Horse). Theatres in the immediate area also include the Cambridge, Novello and Lyceum theatres. Other cultural attractions include the famous London Transport Museum.
Covent Garden has a great mix of shops from high end designers to boutiques and high street staples. You can find specialist shops such as the famous Tea House, a minutes walk from the apartment or Neal’s Yard Dairy, again a minute from your holiday home.
The Seven Dials area covers seven streets meeting at Seven Dials square. You can find independent shops, restaurants, coffee shops and bars. Seven Dials feels like a village within the city and has a wonderfully eclectic, independent and yet very refined, five star feel.
The apartment is situated just 3 minutes from Covent Garden tube station, on Long Acre. A five minute ride on the Piccadilly line takes you to Kings Cross and St Pancras stations with services across the country and internationally via Eurostar.
