Great apartment in the real heart of Roma!

  • 5 of 5

Myself and three others had a fantastic time in this apartment which was located in my favourite corner of Roma, Trastevere. From here we walked everywhere and never had to catch public transport, though Trastevere is very well connected. Everything was perfect (clean, tidy, coffee and wine left for us!) and the owners were great to communicate with. This was a great find, with tons of space and a wonderful patio to relax on after long days exploring Rome. Freddy, the apartment manager helped us find a taxi on our last day when it poured with rain and we needed to get to the airport. All in all, a fantastic stay in a beautiful apartment in the best part of Roma - we will be back.

Trastevere getaway

  • 5 of 5

Myself and three others enjoyed a very comfortable week-long stay at Massimiliano's Trastevere apartment. The apartment is a beautiful space, an ideal location and an excellent value for a week-long rental. Sitting at the top of Giancolo Hill, one of the highest point in Rome, a few quick steps to a park across the street offers beautiful views of the city. And a quick jaunt downhill takes you into the heart of Trastevere, one of Rome's trendiest neighborhoods filled with a multitude of restaurants, bars and shops that would take months to explore.

We did our best with the week we had, eating several meals in the neighborhood (our favorite was Marco G just down via Garibaldi, where we had a fantastic dinner), and returning to our favorite cafe each morning for pastries and coffee. A 5-10 minute (or less, depending on your pace) walk takes you into the heart of Trastevere, where modern shops, bars and eateries catering to tourists, students and locals alike line rustic, winding cobblestone streets. We very much enjoyed our time in Trastevere and were so glad to have stayed in the area.

The apartment's location is ideal for sightseeing beyond the neighborhood, too. Our day trip to the Vatican started by hopping on a city bus, which picked up directly outside the apartment. The Vatican was nearby enough that we simply walked home (about a 40 minute walk) to take in the sights on the way. The Colloseum and the Forum were easily accessed by the city trams, which picked up on Trastevere Road, back down in the heart of the neighborhood. We fared quite well without a car, walking and using public transit, and didn't need to take a taxi once all week.

As far the apartment itself, we were very impressed with the space. The photos in this listing do not do it justice -- all of the appliances were modern, the apartment was clean and it was evident that the place has been updated and taken care of. We slept very comfortably, enjoyed meals on the balcony and used the kitchen space rather extensively. Massimiliano was a gracious host, and a bottle of wine upon our arrival was a nice touch. When we were having trouble working the shower, he was there to remedy the problem within an hour. All of our correspondence with him was very straightforward, and the rental process was simple.

I'm finding myself very reminiscent recounting the wonderful week we had in Trastevere. I would absolutely return to this neighborhood, and specifically this apartment -- truly a gem.

Great place

  • 4 of 5

We spent 7 days in this flat and we had everything we needed. The area is perfect, 10 minutes down the stairs to the middle of Trastevere and 10 minutes up the hill to the great sunset of Gianicolo. Kitchen would need an update, but we didn't use it-there were too many fabulous restaurants around. The flat is big enough for a family of four, big bathroom, comfortable beds. Furniture as on the pictures. We enjoyed a perfect week in Rome.

Parfait séjour dans le quartier de Trastevere

  • 5 of 5

Bel Posto!

  • 4 of 5

Great place! Our daughter is studying abroad and we stayed two weeks in the apartment which is located right next to the Catholic University of America (and Australian Catholic University) campus in Rome. We found it clean, comfortable, nicely decorated and well equipped for a long stay. There was some noise from the road (Garibaldi) and the café downstairs, but the windows seemed to block out most of it when they were closed. We would recommend it to other travelers. We loved the Trastevere neighborhood after staying elsewhere in Rome previously. Definitely an affordable way to stay in Rome – there were grocery stores nearby to buy food for those meals we ate in the apartment. All the restaurants in the neighborhood were excellent. There are bus stops nearby, but we mainly walked to Piazza San Pietro and enjoyed the lovely views from the Juniculum Hill on the way down.

The apartment is located between the districts of Trastevere and Gianicolo.

Janiculum, That You can reach in a five minutes walk, is not only one of the seven hills of Rome from Which you can enjoy the view of the wonderful landscape over Rome, but anche a significant place of the history of Roman Republic. To Remember That, every day at noon, a cannon fires blanks from the top of the hill under the square with the equestrian monument of Giuseppe Garibaldi.

Is another famous Trastevere district of Rome Whose name, Trastevere, comes from Latin language (Trans-Tiber) and means clustering 'just after the Tiber'. In fact, in the old past, the City ended up the left bank of the Tiber.

From the apartment, with a five minutes walk down by stairs, you can reach Santa Maria in Trastevere Square, the heart of the district, in wich there is one of the oldest churches of Rome the titular minor basilica of 'Santa Maria in Trastevere' .

The district located on the right bank of the Tiber river, between the Coliseum and the Vatican, it's a distinguishing artists old quarter, very typical with tight street, full of many kind of shops (restaurants, pubs, bars, pizza shops, artists shops , antique store, pharmacy, grocery, supermarkets etc.)

The area is Surrounded by the greenery of monumental parks like Villa Doria Pamphili and Villa Sciarra, once owned by families Belonging to the Roman nobility and now open to the public.

Near to the American Academy and Spanish Cultural Institute, the house is near to the center However of the city, being ten minutes walk from Piazza Venezia an St. Peter's Square; and just crossing the bridge, you can reach the most important historical sites of the City. Also many bus stops on Viale Trastevere to go everywhere.

Under the apartment there is a Bar That Is open all day long and in the night you can take a drink and listen music.
