About the property

Set In A Small Quiet Village Near Our Cosy Pub with Woodland walks

A detached, restored cottage. Set in a village of about 30 houses. You can hear the river from the front door. Great outside space to the back, overlooking the hills behind, where the Hot Tub and Changing Shed are located. You can sit in the Tub and enjoy the open countryside around you.

From the front door you can walk to the signposted forest trails, mountain bike routes in the Brechfa Forest, go fishing ( I can sort out local permits), or just enjoy the peace in the garden.

We own the Pub in the village, which is a friendly place to meet the locals.

Home made food, cooked by my wife, and a riverside Beer Garden which is an idyllic place to relax in the Summer.

Within 40 minutes you can get to some superb beaches, or go inland and walk up some fabulous mountains. There are plenty of activities for the kids to do as well. Carmarthen and Llandeilo are only 25 minutes away with shopping, cinema and eateries.

If you want to get away from it all, this is complete peace and tranquility. Great walks in the Brecha Forest from your door step. The convenience of a small friendly village and our Pub. Even though its remote, it doesnt take long to get to local attractions and the bigger Towns for Shopping, Cinema, Bowling and Restaurants.

Cute cosy cottage in a pretty village

  • 4 of 5

Lovely cottage, very clean tidy and comfortable. Location is very remote but perfect if that is what you are looking for. Nice pub in walking distance and another a short drive away. Pretty walks around the village and along the riverside. Hot tub is a great addition! Could do with some more lighting around that area for the evenings. Cottage is completely self catering so remember to bring the essentials - kitchen roll, washing up liquid as there is no shop in walking distance. We had a great New Year's Eve stay thank you to George and Louise.

A very quaint cottage.

  • 4 of 5

A lovely roomy cottage. Would easily accommodate more than 5. Ideal location for exploring and mountain biking as it is such a pretty location. The hot tub was a nice place to relax in the evening. The only thing I would say is that the access driveway may be unsuitable for cars with lower ground clearance (luckily we brought my car rather than my husband's). The local pub has a large carpark though, and I'm sure an arrangement could be made to park there.

Our 3 teenage sons enjoyed thoroughly, but the staircase may be unsuitable for very young children. Overall, a lovely peaceful break enjoyed by all.

We had a brilliant holiday, beautiful village and surrounding countryside. Cottage ideal for 4 of us and Black Lion very welcoming , big thanks to George and Louise - food was extremely good. Locals are lovely people, forest walks are a must. If you like peace and quiet and enjoy watching for wildlife you must visit. Garden and hot tub very enjoyable, we would certainly recommend and would not hesitate to stay again.

fantastic trip.

  • 5 of 5

Wonderful cottage set in a lovely village. Very easy to book (even for me, that struggles to navigate my way around on the computer) George the owner answered my queries and told me my prefered date was available and gave me a price which I thought was very reasonable, especially as it was during the Easter break. Hot tub in the garden as well. 3 bedrooms and two reception rooms and a fully fitted kitchen plus bathroom and a downstairs toilet. 3 minutes walk from the Black Lion which is fantastic for food. Lovely walking area and a lovely time had by all. Thanks to George for a fantastic break.
