Central London 20 mins / Warner Bros Harry Potter 15 mins Taxi PERFECT LOCATION!

This lovely apartment will serve you well for a stay in a gorgeous little village close to London. It is comfortable and well located for public transport and has everything you will need for a happy break for whatever reason you have come to stay with us.

We have guests staying here for all sorts of reasons, Harry Potter World and Lego-land being a couple of the more obvious ones. Aside from a holiday near the Chilterns and all the lovely walks around here, perhaps you have some work for a short time in London and don't want to be in the centre? Many also stay when they are having work done in their own home and need to escape or when visiting friends and relatives who cannot accommodate them in their own homes.

This apartment is a great option: The Fast Chiltern Line, Marylebone train will get you there in 20 minutes, whilst you can enjoy quiet relaxing evenings here in a small leafy village with everything you need at your fingertips. Shops, restaurants, coffee shops, supermarket, are all a stones throw from your front door!

We are aiming for a high-end Luxury look and feel but we are working towards that end goal and are not quite there yet, as it is an ongoing project. The photos will however show you that is already lovely and just going to get better and better! The great feedback we have on this site (and others) so far, shows we are doing a great job and we have not got too far to go now to create the ultimate in a luxury holiday home. Please look at our feedback and see for yourself.

There are 2 double bedrooms in this property with 1 shared bathroom.

We can sleep 6 if you need the extra space with 2 people on the sofa-bed in the Sitting Room which is a very spacious room. The Dining table is in this room too, with seating for 6 when extended or as a round table for 4 people.

The kitchen has all the modern conveniences for your comfort and a lovely central Breakfast Bar for that first cup of morning coffee with seating for 2.

The property is actually a maisonette on 2 floors above a Book shop but Chorleywood is a very quiet area so it is not a High Street as such - more a quiet residential area with a few shops for your convenience.

If you bring a car, parking is on the street (abide by the parking restrictions) but in the main, if you are out and about during the day it should not affect you too much as the restrictions are mainly to stop commuter parking.

If you require more long-term parking during your stay you can park in the station car park for 24 hours at a time or park your car some distance away where there are no restrictions and then walk back.

In terms of speedy access to London, this is about as good as it gets! The excellent Chiltern Line stops here and it takes only 20 minutes to Marylebone via a very direct journey of only 2 stops. From Marylebone you have access to the Underground and the whole of London is at your disposal.

This is an area well-renown for its excellent walking and rambling routes. The lovely Chorleywood Common is a five minute walk and the Chiltern Hills are not far away and are truly beautiful and a must see. As is other areas such as Burnham Beaches, Aldenham Country Park and many other lovely places around.

Harry Potter World is a 10-15 minute drive (5 miles away) or a taxi will not cost much and is very convenient if you do not have a car.

You can enjoy the many quaint English Pubs in this area too. The Stag (a mile up the hill in Heronsgate) is a favourite and the Rose and Crown right on the Common is lovely on a sunny day as you can sit outside and enjoy the Common right in your view. Other favourites like the Black Horse offers a lovely cosy feel and a raging feel on a cold winters day when you need warming after your bracing walk to get there.

The Artichoke on Croxley Green is not far away by car and the food is great there too so well worth a try!

Happy Chorleywood is the perfect location, set in between the beautiful Chiltern Countryside yet so close to London you can be there in no time at all! If you are looking for a regular Pied a Terre away from busy London, or are perhaps having building work done and need to vacate your home, or are visiting relatives nearby, or even on holiday, this is a wonderful property in a perfect location. The walk to the station is less than 5 mins and the Metropolitan & Chiltern Lines stop here! A fast Chiltern Line train will get you to Marylebone in 20 minutes!

I bought this property in Chorleywood to keep my son close when he was in his early twenties and wanted to be close but not too close to his mum!

I have been managing a property portfolio for many years now and in this time I have come to notice that many holiday rentals can be sparse in furniture and comfort which is not something I personally enjoy when I am on holiday. It made me determined in changing this apartment to a holiday rental, it would be anything but.

I want you to feel that you will come and enjoy this property if you want a little bit more than a place to rest your head at night after a busy day out or working in London. We want you to be comfortable and feel well rested and looked after so that on your return home, you will feel that all your needs were catered for and we thought of every detail.

The amazing location of this property gives you the perfect balance of proximity to Central London but in a leafy out of London village, where the birds sing in the trees when you get home from a crazy day sight-seeing. There are not many places that can say the same but this location is quiet and tranquil, whilst still being very well located to all transportation links and London itself.

What makes this apartment unique

Chorleywood has long been known as "Happy Chorleywood' since the time a few years ago when it was voted as the happiest place to live in the UK. Last year it proudly boasted to be the "Second Richest place to Live in the UK" and it certainly is a very affluent area with many lovely houses in all directions.

Our apartment (or rather it is a maisonette as it is on two floors) has been done up to a high standard with all the modern conveniences you would wish for and we hope you will love it and the location and want to come back and see us again and again!

Great property in good location

The property was exactly as described and in an excellent location, Clean, tidy and everything that you would need for a short stay. Communications were good and we had no problem locating the property and gaining access. Parking was not an issue either.

We would thoroughly recommend this property.

Not a luxury experience!

The owner was pleasant and welcoming. However, our experience was very disappointing, especially as we booked for 8 nights whilst having the builders in at home and we had naturally expected luxury. The main living room lights were not working on the first evening even though this was known by the owner. That evening we suffered from the noisy neighbours and their children through until late, presumably due to the thin walls.

Within a few days one of the blinds in the living room, which already had a broken slat, literally fell down when we tried to use it; again the owner confirmed that this had happened a few times. For days we could not get warm in the sitting room, especially as there are clear instructions "not to set the radiators above 4, otherwise the system will shut down". After two attempts to get this resolved we were given two fan heaters. Reliable and effective heating is a basic requirement, not a luxury.

The kitchen was a let-down: the cooker is so old that the symbols are illegible which made living there difficult and the back of one of the kitchen units is falling off. There were lots of little things that fell below "luxury". e.g. There was no blind in the bathroom despite it overlooking the open terrace where people access these properties and other blocks of flats nearby. The main bedroom had no accessible socket near to the mirror.

At the rental price of this property we had expected far more. We then moved on to a different property which was immaculate and definitely luxurious, despite the owners not claiming that it was. Very disappointed by this experience so cannot recommend. Some way to go to attain true luxury.

Good points: Master bed is extremely comfortable; house was clean, pleasantly furnished and presentable. A brand new bathroom has also just been installed which is attractive.

Chorleywood is a lovely village set on the cusp of the Chiltern Hills. It is a lovely area for country walks - the Chorleywood Common is a five minute walk from this property and there are many other lovely walks a short drive away.

Harry Potter World (Watford - Leavesden) is a 5 mile taxi drive which takes around 10 minutes depending on the time of day.

There are many other attractions in the surrounding areas, it is a lovely location for a base which is close to Central and yet away from it all.

Local attractions include the lovely towns of Old Amersham and Beaconsfield and the other little villages nearby Little Chalfont, Chalfont St Giles, Chalfont St Peter, Rickmansworth, Sarratt and many others.

Travel to London Marylebone on the Chiltern Line takes only 20 minutes so it is a very easy commute either for work or tourist attractions making this a great location for a pied a terre away from the busy city.

Chorleywood is also on the Metropolitan Line so you can easily get to Wembley and all the attractions, concerts, football games etc there and from Finchley Road you can change trains onto the Jubilee Line for the Central London and all the main tourist attractions.

From Chorleywood Station on the Chiltern Line to Marylebone takes 23 minutes and you are in Central London.
