Enjoy breathtaking snow capped mountain views of the Mummy Range, Mount Meeker, and Twin Sisters from this beautifully decorated log home known as 'Moose Mountain Lodge' (license # 3069). This near new home is located on a 'very peaceful' 1.5 acre property with numerous ponderosa pines and rock outcroppings. Wildlife abounds, including elk, deer, coyotes, bobcats, and the occasional bear. The lodge boasts a floor to ceiling moss rock fireplace, log beams, vaulted wood ceilings, and floor to ceiling windows. Enjoy panoramic views of the snow capped Mummy Range from the kitchen and dining area; leather sofas in the great room; the spa; the log swing on the covered porch; and the log rockers, sofa, or log bed in the loft.

Moose Mountain is a wonderful 3 bedroom(2-queen, 1-double + sofa sleeper) 3 bath home, that offers great extras: a gas grill, wireless high speed internet, 46' HDTV, Dolby surround sound system, cable with HBO, DVD, CD, leather sofas, a fully equipped kitchen with stainless steel refrigerator, dishwasher. electric range/oven and microwave oven, and a washer and dryer. A ping pong table on the lower level provides some friendly competitive action for guests. After hiking or snowshoeing adventures in Rocky Mountain, you'll really enjoy soaking in the hot tub and then curling up in front of the fire on the reclining sofas for a movie in surround sound.

Moose Mountain Lodge is furnished with antiques, log beds, quilts, books and board games, and original wildlife paintings for a true mountain lodge experience. A 400 sq. ft. covered porch, complete with log rockers and a log swing, as well as a separate deck with a 6 person hot tub provide incredible outdoor living areas. This very secluded property located in Estes Park is only minutes away from Rocky Mountain National Park and downtown Estes Park. Moose Mountain offers so much, but it is truly the tranquility of the property that provides your perfect mountain get away.

Why Mitzi chose Carriage Hills

Scenery and Serenity! Wildlife and wild flowers abound. If you want a get-a-way from the rat race and the noise of the city you have just found the perfect place - it doesn't get better than this! We are only minutes from Rocky Mountain National Park, yet only minutes from downtown Estes and all the shops and restaurants.

What makes this cabin unique

Some properties say they have mountain views. Well, there are mountain views then there are "Snow Capped" mountain views with elevations ranging from 12,000' - 14,000'. When you stay at Moose Mountain Lodge, you get real "Snow Capped" mountain views.

When we decided to search for property to build a second home, our prerequisite was snow capped views. We also wanted nearby mountain hiking trails, nearby grocery store, restaurants and social activities. We found the ideal acreage that had the mountain views. trees (over 100 mature ponderosa pines) with rock outcroppings to for that total mountain experience. We found this all in Estes Park.

We are also a legally licensed vacation rental home in Estes Park. We are legally required to collect and pay sales tax to the state of Colorado. However, since our property is located just outside the city limits of Estes Park, we are not required to collect and pay the Estes Park city sales tax, only the state of Colorado sales tax. This will save you money for a meal at one of many restaurants.

A Sweet Blessing!

My husband, our 14 year old neice, and I enjoyed a beautiful week at Moose Mountain Lodge, May 31st - June 5, 2011. We have booked vacation homes through VRBO several times and have always been pleased, but Moose Mountain was among the BEST we've rented!

Our top priority when booking was "the view", and we were not disappointed - it was spectacular! The first evening we sat in the hot-tub on the back deck and watched a glorious sunset over the snow-capped mountain range. As we were getting out of the hottub just after dark, my neice spotted an owl in the top of a pine tree, "welcoming" us to Moose Mountain. That was the first of our wildlife viewing for the week. The next morning, we were thrilled to wake up and look out the wall of windows to see the mountains and watch deer grazing in the yard.

This home was immaculately clean when we arrived and obviously very well maintained. It is very well appointed with everything we needed for cooking some meals, doing laundry, watching movies, playing games, and of course, the hottub, as I mentioned! The location was ideal for our needs. We loved being "out" enough to have a view, but also the convenience of being able to run into town within a matter of minutes for restaurants and shopping. Rocky Mountain National Park is just a short drive (maybe 20 minutes?) away.

Just the three of us had way more than enough room in this house! We could have chosen a smaller home, but the ammenities at Moose Mountain were just what we were looking for and we're so glad we chose it.

We checked out on Sunday morning and had a two and 1/2 day drive back to Ohio. The day after we got home, we had our security deposit back in the mail! That impressed us!

Thanks, Randy and Mitzi, for sharing your beautiful mountain retreat with us - it's surely a blessing too sweet to keep to yourselves!

Beautiful cabin with a spectacular view of the mountains!

The cabin was beautiful, inviting and comfortable. The view of the mountains from the great room was stunning. It was minutes from everything you'd need in town but still seemed remote enough to enjoy some solitude. It wasn't smashed up against any other cabins, so it felt fairly private. We had deer walking through or resting in the yard, every day! It was comfortable and very clean.

Absolutely fantastic

Beautiful property that was perfect for our four generation group of seven. Very clean, the kitchen has everything cooks need, the fireplace is great and the location with its stunning views was the best. Better pillows would be my only suggestion for improvement and we hope to return soon.

Mountain Views and Wildlife Paradise

Our family of six loved this home. Perfect location. Close to everything, but with privacy and views that are second to none. Owners very friendly and quick to respond. Had everything we needed, even the crock pot and tea picture. It was very windy and very cold for a greater portion of our stay, but this home stayed warm and toasty. The only suggestion I could make is possibly a humidifier would be a nice addition because the air was pretty dry. Ping pong table was great feature for our children. Small herd (8-10) of mule deer in the yard every day. Huge herd (80-100) of elk roaming the neighborhood every day and we drove out to West Hwy 34 in Loveland and saw 14 big horn sheep! Also, we named the moose over your fireplace...He is now Fred;) Thank you for everything. We can tell this home is a piece of your heart and are thankful that you shared it with us. Would absolutely stay here again!

OUR RENTAL RATE IS BASED ON PAYMENT BY CHECK.

We have a minimum three night stay with the exception of the Thanksgiving week with a four night minimum; Christmas period with a 7 night minimum and our peak summer season which has a Saturday check-in and Saturday check-out, with a 7-day minimum stay.

Special rates may apply due to certain circumstances.

RENTAL AGREEMENT AND RENTAL RULES: A Rental Agreement, including our Rental Rules will be sent to our renters for a signature at the time you choose to rent our property. This signed rental agreement, which includes full legal name, complete home address, home phone number, cell phone number and alternate cell number is required to complete the rental booking process. A signature is also required on the rules page. We also require a copy of the renter's driver's license.

CANCELLATION POLICY: The reservation deposit will be returned, less a $100 booking fee for cancellations that are made more than sixty (60) days prior to the arrival date and we refill the dates that were reserved. Cancellations or changes that result in a shortened stay that are made within 60 days of the arrival date, will result in a forfeiture of the full reservation deposit. Cancellation within 30 days of arrival or early departure does not warrant any refund of rent or deposit. If a cancellation is due to illness after the cancellation time period has expired, we would be happy to rebook to a date of your choosing in the future, for an equal time period rate. Travel insurance is available, separately through VRBO, if you are concerned about any cancellation charges. The reservation will be considered cancelled if the second payment due is not received 30 days prior to check in
