Dogs are welcome !
I was born and grew up in Treviso, colse to Venice . My grandmother was from Tuscany so we often spent holidays in this magic land . I took agriculture degree in Padova and then I have been running my family organic farm in Veneto for many years. My deep love for Tuscany made me tranfer here with all my family, 3 years ago . We bought this property in 2011 and others two, we are now restoring, in 2012. We really fell in love with this amazing land and true people. Everything here is full of poetry and history.
Mariacristina Cellini purchased this villa in 2011
We choose this property as soon as we saw it . It is located amidst the gently rolling Tuscan hills, between Pienza and Montepulciano. The view is really amazing and the Villa is exactly what I always dreamed for my holiday. Relax relax and again relax .
You can see amazing sunstes having dinner under the gazebo or laying at the swimmingpool .You can have a relaxing massage close to the pool surrounded by nature. You can do truffle hunting in the truffle reserve close to the Villa .
The home is well maintained with lovely grounds. A quiet location with stunning views of the Tuscan hills. Our group fit nicely in the beautifully decorated bedrooms and appreciated the private baths it offered. Close to wonderful historic towns and good restaurants. We had a great time!
This villa is carefully and beautifully maintained by the owner and is the perfect combination of elegance and comfort. The pool is amazing; a slate oasis that is cleaned each day--absolutely pristine. Mariacristina, the owner and host, is very responsive and was kind and flexible with our last minute changes to our plans. The suggested chefs were excellent and the outdoor dining was so enjoyable after long days touring around Tuscany. The grounds are stunning and the views from the photos do not accurately portray the beauty surrounding the villa from every direction. I can't say enough about how perfect this was for our families.
My only note of caution is to be aware that screens are not on the windows. But the breeze felt fantastic!
Our week at the villa was the highlight of our stay in Italy. It is a beautiful property that exceeded our expectations in every way. You can tell the owner spent a good amount of time perfecting every detail. Every room feels plucked from a magazine.
The house feels very private, it is tucked away on a small road in the countryside and sits on a hill surrounded by expansive views of rolling farmland. We spent a good amount of time at the large pool just taking in the scenery.
The villa is ideally located at a very short drive from both Montepulciano and Montefollonico where there are several excellent restaurants, wine and cheese shops. As well as near charming towns such as Pienza and Monticchiello. We spent a week exploring the area around the villa and felt like we had only seen a fraction of what was there.
The host, Mariacristina, was very helpful both before and during our stay, giving great recommendations and helping us set up plans in the area. Through her we booked a private cooking class at the villa, which was a lot of fun and resulted in one of our favorite meals on our trip.
We can’t wait to go back!
Mariacristina warmly welcomed us, allowing us to leave luggage at her shop until check-in. Her staff was thoroughly cleaning and airing out the house and preparing the grounds. When we returned, every pillow, every towel, and every piece of silverware had been placed "just so" with care.
Reggello is wonderfully situated near vineyards in rolling landscape. It was quite quiet day and night, yet only minutes to Montepulciano and Pienza. We spent time in both and visited small, nearby hilltowns like Monticchiello and Montefollonico (with its beautiful ceramics shop in a decommissioned Church).
From Reggello, it's easy to take daytrips through Val D'Orcia (San Quirico D'Orcia, Bagno Vignoni, Castiglione D'Orcia, Montalcino, Abbey Sant'Antimo) and to La Foce gardens, Castiglione del Lago / Lake Trasimeno, Cortona, Siena, Orvieto.
The house has very spacious, well proportioned bedrooms and bathrooms with quality fixtures, quality linens, and a generous supply of quality towels.
One ensuite bedroom is on the ground floor and the others are upstairs - all are lovely. While the house would work well for a family or for more than one couple, we rented it for the two of us. (We chose our favorite bedroom for sleeping, another for a dressing room, a third for "relaxing" and enjoying the deep tub - and the downstairs bedroom was convenient for suitcases and growing collections of brochures and maps).
We liked the cooking options. Along with the kitchen's stove and oven, there's a terrific wood-burning oven outside with an ample supply of firewood (perfect for slowly grilling Tuscan sausages, etc.) - located next to masses of rosemary and sage.
We appreciated the welcome basket of Maria Cristina's organic products and her special toiletries in each bathroom. And when we needed a multi-tap extension cord to accommodate our chargers, Mariacristina bought one.
There was a sense that we might be in Provence because of the furnishings and the lavender. Yet Tuscany awaited in every direction.
We unfortunately encountered an unusual amount of rain which prevented us from enjoying dining outside under the wisteria arbor and sunning by the pool. We imagine anyone staying at Regello during the summer months will be able to enjoy the house as well as the outdoor dining, sunning and swimming, and blooming lavender - and, of course, Tuscany!
The price was a great value, given its four excellent ensuite bedrooms and Casale Reggello's location. We recommend it
Just finished our stay at the charming Villa Regello and it was every bit the sort of place I had hoped it would be.
First of all, the location is fantastic, as the house is situated midway between Pienza and Montepulciano, a short ten minutes drive from each. This part of Toscana is staggeringly beautiful, and the views from the house/grounds are typical of the area. It is very hard to imagine anyone being disappointed by the setting. It is also a great base of operations for day trips.
The house itself is very cute. It is a simple rural building that has been thoughtfully renovated, with ample living space for a group of 6-10 people. There are four bedrooms, each with its own en suite bathroom. It feels, appropriately, like you are in a rustic country house with lovingly tended grounds. The kitchen is decent, and there is a good cappuccino machine. The kitchen doesn't come fully stocked, so be sure to pick up whatever you will need on the way to the house, or take advantage of the option of having the shopping done in advance for you. Personally, I enjoy shopping for food in Italy, and you can find all sorts of interesting things at the local markets. The house has a classic vine covered arbor outside the kitchen for dining alfresco and enjoying the view. We took advantage of both the outdoor grill and the wood-burning masonry pizza oven while we were there and I would recommend that anyone else staying at this house do the same. Oh, the wifi is very good throughout the house and even down by the pool, which I nearly forgot to mention. Yes, as you can see from the photos of the house, there is a pool, and yes, it is as nice as the photos make it look.
Mariacristina, the friendly and responsive owner, makes available some additional services, such as a private chef, cooking class and truffle hunting, in season. We took advantage of the private chef and cooking class, both furnished by an outfit called 'Tuscan Chef' and were not disappointed. These services were not cheap, but they added an additional cultural dimension to our visit. And the food was very good. Mariacristina also provided restaurant recommendations when requested and took care of making dinner reservations for us. She also provided a welcome basket containing olive oil, jams and other products that she makes and sells at her 'Bio Shop', nearby.
We had a wonderful 2 week stay at Villa Reggello - no negative comments at all. This was our first visit to this part of the world and it felt as though we were right in the landscape that one imagines when thinking of Tuscany. The location was beautiful and had a sense of tranquility - just what we wanted, but close to local villages and restaurants & amenities. It was well placed to explore southern Tuscany and both Siena and Florence are within a reasonable distance, but you do need a car.
From the villa itself it was a delight to watch the swallows skimming across the pool, the buzzards soaring overhead and we even saw a pine marten in the garden!
The villa has been beautifully restored, with great flair and attention to detail - everything we would wish was there. Fixtures and fittings were of a high quality and the villa was spotlessly clean.
A complementary basket of some of the products from the organic business of the owner - produced on the estate was a lovely and generous touch & most appreciated.
The pool was wonderful, newly replaced this year in stone - quite unusual & very attractive. It is a great pool if you really like to be be able to swim properly as it is about 14m in length.
Mariacristina, the owner was friendly, informative and very helpful and arranged a 'Truffle hunt' for us with a local truffle hunter and his dogs - really fun and very interesting.
We would most definitely recommend Villa Reggello to friends and family!
Villa Reggello is located amidst the gently rolling Tuscan hills, between the wonderful towns of Pienza and Montepulciano, just a short distance from the thermal baths of Bagno Vignoni.
Here, far from the bustle of the city and the roar of the traffic, immersed in a landscape like a painting, where the air has a special scent, time seems to slow down, days become longer
and sunsets delight the heart.
Just 10 minutes away is Montepulciano, a delightful town, famous not only for its countless works of art, but also for its vineyards that colour the landscape with the changing seasons and producing a world famous wine - Nobile di Montepulciano.
In the heart of the Val d’Orcia, also just 10 minutes away, is Pienza, a real gem and the dream made reality of Pope Pius II, the emblem of a Renaissance concept of the “Ideal City” and a UNESCO world heritage site, full of atmosphere, scents, real people and ancient vestiges.
Don’t miss a visit to the enchanting square of Bagno Vignoni,
a truly unforgettable place with its ancient 52°C spring water bath, completely surrounded by Medieval and Renaissance buildings.
